Hi Pete,

Last year I did the UK force ride & the Sept weekend in the Brecon Becons all with a 14 / 50 set up. I struggled & the others were shocked I had that gearing on. Now changed to 13 / 52 - feels great but not yet tested in going down steep rocks which is one of the areas had most issues with (geared so high that even in first had to slip clutch to get slow enough / then stalled etc etc).

Anyhow - look forward to seeing you on the trip - don't worry about your experience of lack of as it's just a crack and you can go as fast or slow as you like -

Looking forward to this!

experience wise, I've done a few weekends green laning in South Wales and also the peak district. A fair few Endurolands under my belt too. Not a beginner, but by no means a pro!

I bailed on Sundays MT ride out due to weather and friend loosing his Oil cap on a test ride on his 610 husky after we did a service on sat (it is amazing how many black plastic bottle caps there are on a 2 mile stretch of road when you look for 2hrs)
The MT guys had a man fall and brake his Tib on the 1st lane!! it rained, snowed, another binned his bike on the rd smashing the throttle.

Video of the other days riding.
The bridge may not be included but will cost £2;50 a bike if it is.
The camera angle is better this time but I need to carry a cloth the wipe the lens. Had to cut some bits out as they were so unclear Otherwise up loaded in 1080HD so should play on the big tv.
Note the camera does not really pick up on the views that are quiet spectacular for most of the day.

Looks ace!

Hopefully I'll have a new TE250/300 for then (can't decide which) :D

if you race 250

if you're good and race 300

if you some times race and mostly trail ride 300

Is that the Barmouth toll bridge? Did it on the Super Tenere's a few years back good fun when it's damp :)

i was thinking of coming but after watching the vid iv decided not to.no offense to welsh rideouts or you boys, from what i saw it was mostly lots of rocks/stone/gates & thats was pretty much what i rode when had a guide couple of years ago,was just getting going then had to stop every 5 mins to open/shut gates or riding slippery horible rock, not my cup of tea,i prefere more dirt & woods.so have a good one boys & im sure your have a fun out there

Really hope the video does not scare any more off.

Whilst there are gates on the route they are generally infrequent and should pose little problems to the group once a drill has been established. I guess I have used gates as useful edit points to cut down the 7hour + video I had of the days ride.
There are a few rocks but also mud and roots lumped in with a bit of forestry and not forgetting the stunning scenary.

I have yet to leave anyone behind (I know a few have wished I would fluck off and leave them) and will always make sure that anyone struggling gets help, well that is after a few photos have been taken.

NIMBYs are slowly starting to make noised in Wales else where so make sure you don't miss your chance to ride the beautiful area.

With the deepest regret & nothing to do with the above as I was well looked after last year, I'm going to have to duck out of this years experience. (The inevitable clash of interests that sometimes occur with balancing bikes vs wife & children) - love them all and sometimes the choice to too difficult to bear.

Perhaps we could do something for the Isle of Man GP in August ?

Anyway - have a beer for me.

well I'm trying to persuade my mate Tone (Tony) to come with Bazza from the Luton area.

we're off green laning tomorrow so I shall tip them in the River Lark if they do0n't submit!

Need to see if Mark2eo is coming?

I have a really tiny BBQ Fergus but I'm afraid fires and BBQs are an american "Thang"!
