Hi ya'll, I'm picking up my first Husaberg this week, an '09 FE570 street legal dual-sport. I've been away from offroad riding for 10 years, feels good to be back.

This site is a great collection of information, cheers. People from all across the globe, united by a fondness for a Swedish motorcycle brand that doesn't exist anymore. I like unusual bikes! So do you.

I'm trying to understand what internal engine parts in the current KTM/Husky catalog fit the 70-degree Husabergs, in case the engine needs an overhaul in the hopefully far distant future.

I have much to learn.

Great choice in bike.
I had a 2010 and regret selling it to this day.
Put around 8500 serious bush k's on it.
You don't go through many front tyres, because it tends to be on the back wheel a lot , but they eat back ones for breakfast.

Fuel pumps had issues in those models, but that motor is bulletproof imo.

Loose battery terminal will cause a dead bike, keep an eye on them, because you have no kick start to help you out.
Fresh lithium battery is a must.

Mine had the KTM snuff (flame out) and will be difficult to start for a bit.

Apart from that, keep fresh oil in it. I used the motorex semi synthetic, plugs, clean filters, usual maintenance stuff you do on all bikes and it will serve you well.
Heim joint in lower rear shock blows out if jumping lots too. She's a heavy steed. Not hard to replace though.
Chassis is all KTM from my experience.
Engine parts, not sure. Never had to work on the motor, but the bolt on bits like gear selector, clutch slave etc are all ktm.

I also recommend dialing in your suspension. Mine was a pig at both ends untill i sorted that.
I had full spring change out and re-valve done. Night and day. I am 115kg dressed.

As a longtime Japanese bike owner, I got out my 8mm, 10mm and 12mm sockets ready to do some maintenance on the 570.

Right out of the gate, I need a 6mm socket instead. This Euro-bike is a whole new journey...

What a rare and exotic motorcycle. I like it.

Under the seat in the wiring above the battery I found one blue/white wire and one blue/black wire intertwined but with ends snipped off, naked tips and laying loose. Oh joy, a wiring mystery to solve, my most favorite thing (sarcasm). Hah.
