Thanks for the get well soon messages.

It was rather interesting seeing the nurses reaction in A&E when he pulled my sock down expecting to see a bit of a bruise but instead released a fair quantity of blood all over the trolley and a decent size hole in the skin when the trousers, boots and shin guard had not been punctured.

In fairness to the NHS everything happened very quickly from that point on, I think it took about 40 minutes to get x rayed and into theatre, I won't go into the details but it wasn't fun.....

Anyway after industrial quantities of antibiotics & 2 1/2 days observation they think I am infection clear and have let me come home.

8 - 12 weeks in plaster if it goes to plan, then trying to regain some level of fitness that's most of this season taken care of ........... But at least I'm home & on the way to mending.

Luke

I hope it all goes well on the road to recovery.

Hmmm... this is 2 ride outs ive planned to go on using the Husaberg... both i have ended up not being able to make... both have ended up with a badly injured rider!

This is worrying as im planing to go out next weekend on it!

Pete

Saturday night was not the best prep for the ride on Sunday.
A real late night for me topped off by waking to sound of forking can'ts real early in the morning.
Still it gave me a chance to get myself sorted for the riding.
At long last I was riding my Berg. :bounce:
The cart horse XR650R had done me proud for two days but it was great to be on a thoroughbred.
A slight hiccup during the day was a complete battery failure but the rebuild ran well.

This is the last of the videos just need to sort out the photos I took now.

I really enjoyed the weekend, great company and riding with once again perfect UK Force weather

As before best watched 1080HD with your fav music to accompany it.

Many thanks to Ed for inviting me to guide, and to Taffy for organising a cracking weekend !
I was a bit worried beforehand, not wanting to get lost, be too slow, holding you Blue boys back !!

Slight tuning mods to Taffy's clutch casing.

100_0374.jpg

100_0377.jpg

After a quick stop for food and maybe some BEER in Barmouth, it was back on the road again !

Bit of a detour around a fallen tree.

100_0384.jpg

Ben, then decided he'd had enough, I suspect that he could see into the future !

After a rather a wet drinking session with Ed, 'till 3 o'clock, Sunday morning was interesting!!

Not many photos from Sunday as the pace was fast and flowing.

100_0392.jpg

The lunch stop. Yes Ed, we stopped for lunch!

100_0393.jpg

Shortly after, Luke had an off but still managed the 8 mile ride to A & E. Hope your better soon.

100_0394.jpg

Tony had a puncture on the way back up.

100_0395.jpg

Thanks again, for a great weekend.

great having photos Steve - thanks for that!

It was a pleasure having you there and I think we ll have a soft spot for something either rare and different or both but the beta was welcome! we just don't need too many cantankerous bikes on a trip though do we? LoL!!

If we're happy to do it again next year I'd like Ed to tell us a new site in Wales from which we can get a couple of new rides in. If we just get the location right we already know the dates and we can sort it all well in advance.

regards

Taffy

A Few Photos. Just noticed that the site seems to crop the one side of the images. It does not effect them too much but if you right click on the image and click on view image you see the full version.

Belated thanks to Eddie and everyone involved in a fantastic few days riding. There were gates, but not too many and easily dealt with. There were many, many rocks and some of them really wet! As the pictures show, some bikes got really thirsty on the river crossings! We rode all kinds of terrain except sand (only golfers stopped us using the links) and the various kinds of mud provided much hilarity. Only encountered one objectionable NIMBY and many more friendly locals, what a change from England! So sad that there were two casualties, I hope both mended and back riding before too long.

It takes a lot to make something like this happen, everyone who did their bit deserves more than the T-shirts that Taffy organised. He organised more than that too. The campsite were more than happy to help us, jet wash, drying room and showers without any hint of anti-motorcyclist!

My message is "get involved and enjoy UK force ride 2013", before too long we might find it impossible to enjoy the countryside the way we do. The Swedish riders told me it was nearly impossible for them to ride in their own back yards due to legislation, Norway is worse and Finland the exception. So, thank god for Wales. Without any doubt NIMBY's and the narrow minded but vocal minorities will kill our joy of trail riding in England unless we all campaign and lobby as hard as those that want us stopped.

Fingers crossed we all get to do this again  !

Great pictures and sounds like a great weekend again...................hopefully i'll be road legal again for the next trip.

Thanks for the pics (and the guiding) Steve, I can still hear you laughing when I look at that pic of me and the berg drowning!

Can I be the first to sign up for 2013 (or Autumn 2012!)

Mart

Man, looks like you guys had a great time!
I watched all the vids and looked at all the pics and was mesmerized by all the rock walls everywhere.. Those people that originally erected them must of been some dedicated, tough folk!
Being from Northern Cal, the oldest abandoned stuff we run into is mining equipment, tools & living gear from the gold rush days.
BTW, what's up with all those white fluffy dogs running about?

yes it was good!

the only night we are all there now that folk disappear at the end of the ride on Sunday - is Saturday and most importantly: Saturday night.

by the time we all get back in and get cleaned up and in cars for the town centre it is nearly nights out! so I think next year we really, really must get something sorted for a group dinner in town and possibly look at doing something on the camp site. That means relying on people turning up and also knowing the town centre or campsite beforehand and whether it has it's own BBQ area etc

perhaps I or Ed can reconoitre the facilities before next years 'do'.

of course whitey! Ed and Steve were great leaders. Steve even had a non-UJM so was 'correctly dressed' for the occasion!

Just to mention that I've had a word with a Lady down near Rhayader who was putting me on to another TRF leader in the area but I don't think he can be arsed!

we'll continue to look. we have a great connection in South Wales in the Brecons as Arkley123 and Mark2eo will testify. we can stay North but there's so much to see in life...

Taffy

terribly sad new

Hello everyone - please read this message... :(

I'm sorry to say that I just found out that Peter Liljestrom from Sweden has died. Peter came to this the 2012 and then the 2013 UK force rides. I believe Peter was just 47 years old. he had a heart attack some three Months ago from which he has succumbed.

he leaves a wife and three children. his friend and fellow Swede at the UK rides from 2012 and 2013 Anders Malm told me today. I've put the message here as this is when we first met Peter and Anders:-Dolgellau 2012.

Peter and Anders are two cool blokes, Anders forgot his passport was at home in Sweden and noticed it at CALAIS yet cool as you like Peter and Anders went home and collected it and came back (1,600 KM or 1,000 Miles).

a very good rider and a dry sense of humour, said little but what he said was always dry and one corner of his mouth would go up and a wink! :D :D

They would have been back AGAIN this year Anders tells me...only 1,500 miles....

RIP Peter and I hope your family can appreciate what a great guy he was to those that met him....

Taffy

Very sad and a real shock.
I'm glad that I met him and feel for his wife and children.
47 is way too young RIP.

Bloody hell.

I keep telling people the story of them two coming across and we were discussing how often we ride. I said couple of times a month if I'm lucky. They said 3 or 4 times. I assumed it was per month. They then corrected me. It was 3 or 4 times a week!

Real shame.
