this is the new camp site. SEE MY NEXT POST

I'm taking up a small cast iron BBQ, which is phenominal but we'll buy when we get there. if anyone would like to supply something to go with ribs or burgers that would be great! otherwise we'll see what the weather is doing and what we all want to do. we need to pick up the long range forecast for the weather soon....

I'm bringing a gazebo that got knobbled by the weather last year so we need it WELL STRAPPED DOWN this time! I guess there might be a camping fee on it but we'll freeze otherwise.

We're down for 15 at the moment Ed with a question on Mark's friend who's doubtful and another rider doing one day of the two probably :D :D

so I'm guessing Ed but after Friday I think we will need your friend as a group leader although I believe Clive knows the area really well too!

Is there a rough idea of an agenda - i.e.what time we'll be setting off, and how long we'll be out for?

I could do with knowing, so I can see if I can get away with arriving early on Saturday, or wether I'll have to arrive late Friday (tent pitching in the dark = rubbish!).

ok IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!

having courtiously emailed the camp site I just took a call and the lady has explained that the gas board have taken over some of her camp site and what with 6 vans and two car/trailer combos she says there isn't the room and we are now booked into a new campsite

this is the new camp site: Dolgun Uchaf
http://www.guesthousessnowdonia.uk.com/
01341 422 269

she also has guest houses on site.

the name of the site is changing so that we English can pronounce it so it is the 'Torrent' camp site. we're further from town but I have a minibus/taxi number so ..... all's good. :D :D

I guess that we'll set off at 9-9.30am riding each day at a guess.

New venue noted.
I've stayed there a couple of times and think it is a great site despite been out of the town.

Note to all that it is that the riding is in North Wales and although rare, some officers take a ruler to number plates etc. Like I say it is rare but £60 fixed penalty takes the shine off the day.

Here's a link to the 5 day forecast Looking good so far not that I would put any money on it.

Hi
Back in Sweden
After a really nice weekend in Wales
Thanks to everyone who made ??it
Thanks Taffy. Ed and all new friends
See you next year

Peter / Anders

I only got back at 11.30pm last night having visited family. I can't say anything about travelling a long way....not after how far the Swedes travelled!

Great weekend and someone more eloquent with words will hopefully do a written report and I think Ed has a helmet cam video to show as well.

A special thanks to Ferg for putting me up, Ed and Steve for taking me around - you're the real stars - and to the rest of you for turning out. Wish I'd sorted Saturday night out better but there you go. Anders and Pete: having you there made it more than a little special.

love to do it again next year or the year after and have asked Ed if he can name a fresh area of North Wales as yet un-navigated by ourselves.

still have a 'XL' and a 'M' left as I want to keep 2 x XL myself. so if anyone wants one of them - let me know?

regards

Taffy

Hi Taffy & all

Thanks for accepting a late arrival on Sunday morning.

The riding was excellent and company to match.

Sorry for messing up your plans after my tumble but thanks for the escort to A&E & manual gearchange, hope you managed an interesting ride back to Dolgellau.

The bike was retrieved safe and sound on Monday unfortunately same cannot be said for me, I'm still stuck to a hospital bed and looks as though I may be here for a few days yet.

Will try again next time, if you'll have me.....

Luke

well I had a great weekend riding bikes, drinking beer and talking bollox.

I had been spent most of my spare time during the last month rebuilding my Husaberg engine so that I could ride it for the weekend. I only partially succeed making a mess of the kickstart and only managing 5 hours running prior to the weekend.
With people travelling from far and wide for the weekend I loaded my Xr650R in the van as well as the Berg and had really decided that I would only use the XR for the weekends riding. When I turned up Friday morning and seeing all the Bergs together I nearly changed my mind but it was the XR that came out of the van.

Here is a video of the ride on Friday. I have more footage of riders riding in front for Sat and Sunday rides.
Best viewed in 1080HD setting but it may take a bit to download. It is good enough then for the big TV.

Some of that stuff looked quite tight, great video, i would love to see a track log, some of it looked familier.

Wish i had been able to come..

Pete

you missed a bloody good weekend and what with the rotation to open the gates it was like watching the army carriage races from the old horse of the year show. quite honestly I didn't even notice it.

Ed knows North Wales like the back of his hand.

If I lived in an ideal world we would have come back on the Saturday afternoon/evening to a BBQ or a stew or something where we sat around. as it is we lose time in cars, on the road, parking, waiting for everyone to be ready.

but you can't get people to agree on anything nowadays: we would still all want different food, places to go, privacy, why should I pay for what i don't eat etc.

I would skip the free food and go straight to the free beer!

Had a great time guys - by far the best trails I've ridden.
Thanks to Taff for all the organising, and Eddie and Steve for the guiding.
looking forward to next year!

Fantastic weekend, couldn't ask for better riding and even got some sunshine - in Wales!
Thanks to Steve and Ed for the guiding and Taff for making it all happen.

Luke: get well soon...

Just found out last night off the bloke that came for his bike on the opening morning just how bad Luke has been.... :( :(

it turns out Luke has some kind of spiral fracture of sorts in his shin and if we could have seen it the bone was poking at or through the skin....they aren't going to do the metalwork till the chance of infection at the skin has gone.

that may have looked an innocuous fall lads but begeesus.....

so I really do hope Luke you get well soon mate.

Taffy

Eddie that was a good bit of editing at 16.26 through the little forest lane

I think that was a fall on the D loop for you

Knobby

we was robbed at 23.45 exactly!

Ed doesn't want you to see his Tony Bou imitation that's all it is!

I think we need to start a petition demanding "THE MISSING MINUTES!"

regards

Taffy

The edit has been an honest one in that I left my one and only off in which was at the start of day one on the roots.
Unfortunately it is not only Berg enthusiasts who view the web site hence the reason for some of the editing.

Knobby
get rid of that satsuma and get a blue bike join in the fun.

After a few beers and food Friday night it was game on for Saturdays ride.
Steve taking his group North and me heading South.

Here is the video of my Saturday ride.

http://youtu.be/3G9wc_eI6QA

What I had meant to say was no music has been added as copyright blocks viewing in some countries. Suggest you put your favourite CD on and watch the vid as it is more enjoyable.

Get well soon Luke and Sam

Well i hope to be able to do next years and have got a few hours on the pegs. Im hoping to get out on the 20th round Holmfirth way, all pending trying to move house, work etc.... all the usual crap that gets in the way of a good time!!!
