On another note ... It looks like that berg on ebay that was involved here was well bought.
Now that I'm off topic too. Why don't we let this thread go back to the organization of a ride. Perhaps a moderator (is there one here) can get rid of all the rubbish and let the riders and organizers have their thread. I would think that is what's best for the forum.
I bought a lotto ticket last night so there is a 1:42,000,000 chance that I will be able to make the ride.
Now that I'm off topic too. Why don't we let this thread go back to the organization of a ride. Perhaps a moderator (is there one here) can get rid of all the rubbish and let the riders and organizers have their thread. I would think that is what's best for the forum.

unlike others here, you live in the UK. you have said some completely unsubstantiated stuff in this thread and even the bike seller you mention said that his bike had an electrical fault. the owner wasn't blaming me.

FWIW - year ago I bought my berg over to the UK with me from Australia. Not knowing a sole I signed up for the force ride to meet some fellow berg owners in the UK. It took longer than expected to get my 570 registered and insured in the UK so about a month before the event I had to let Taffy know i couldn't make it. He offered to rent me one of his bikes, when I politely declined (on an Australian license I was unable to get insurance cover on someone else's bike), I received a PM blaming "people like me" for the decline of these events! Taffy was happy to keep my £15, hopefully he bought a round of beers for the other guys on the ride.
