UK force (U2) ride - 2012

I think the date is Fraser but nothing is in stone about where. Fergus mentioned Deja Vu.... I thought somewhere overlapping but westward bound might be nice....

I knew you were going write that Taffy!!

Joking aside, is there anything we could get into in either Scotland or Cornwall? I think NIMBY's have killed any chance but you might know differently. The other conversation we had on the last trip was the potential to take a trip across the drink to see if any Europeans wanted to play in France somewhere. Otherwise Wales really does have a lot in its favour, and camping makes it really affordable for everyone.

Could Cypher get us in on any of the amazing forests that the 'two day' went over?? Very challenging stuff when it rains.

I could be up for this as long as my 'Berg is working at the time! (and if I'm welcome!)
My question though is I have 2 mates who I ride everywhere with and they both ride KTM's... Would they be welcome?
Would there be an approximate cost for the whole weekend based on last years experience?

Ben

Can't see why that would be a problem? Seeing as orange things are cousins now, and we did have one turn up at Llangollen and nobody caught anything nasty

Costs were pretty limited, camping was about £50 for three or four nights, you need a fund for lunch stops etc. but you spend as much or as little as you like really. If we went to the same place I think you can hire a caravan between three and that wouldn't be too expensive at all.

Personally I think it would be churlish to miss an opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of blue over orange, but others might have different views? More importantly can they cook and would they bring a BBQ?

The chap on the KTM last year was there to lead a ride for all the people who said they were coming but never turned up.

My thoughts are that you can ride with your mates anytime.
This should be different and by keeping it Berg only ensure that we mix with other owners rather than just stick with our mates.
If you want to ride with your mates go and sort something out yourself. However if you want to ride with Bergs for a change then come to this event.

I'll have to think about this one then as Wales is one place we've been on about riding for a long time! Maybe we'll go on our own!

Text below lifted from UK force ride 2011

the UK is small enough that we should declare three days of riding and I guess most will perm 2 from 3. all riders on a Husaberg (SORRY!) unless supported by two other husaberg riders. so if you want to ride a non-husey you need to have two 'sponsors' who can't sponsor anyone else. that should make it easy to look after arkley while stopping people we've never heard of from just sauntering up. lets also make it a 100% UHE rule for all and a minimum of 20 posts. yes i know, why? because lets make the buggers jump through some hoops. this isn't just a ride, it's a UHE HUSABERG ride and they is the rules.

Comments on a postcard.

Must say - from last years ride great to see all Hussas (the odd rogue colour not too bad I suppose) as long as mainly a sea of blue.

just a reminder that anyone is welcome and that we are on 8 riders at present.

we'll agree that it is out nearer the west coast then as we've had no further response to Llangollen again from the 2011 riders.

So we'll have to get this camp site at the entrance to Dolgellau booked up sometime in January then James and Fergus OK?

Ed was saying to me the other day that TBH: the west coast has better riding. I was told the same thing by a Herefordshire customer that comes over to see me. he described Llangollen as 'where the tourists (irregular riders) go'.

I think if we get another 6+ riders for sure we'll split into two groups. but you always get 2-3 drop out with days to go so you need to be heading for 14-17 to get the two.

OK the dates are Friday 4th to Bank Holiday Monday 7th May 2012. pick from that what you want.

looks like Dolgellau. our leader (Ed) says it is better riding (which was sublime anyway) but other than that there has been so little comment. so we can still go anywhere but at a minimum I think we're back in North Wales mate.

Sounds like a big thanks to Eddie again if it is anything like the riding we enjoyed this year. Thank goodness a date to look forward to next year!

Hi there,

I've recently stumbled across your forum, and it looks great. I can't think why i haven't cottoned on to it sooner.

I've owned Bergs over the last 7 or so years, and currently have an 08 FE550, and an 02 FS650 ex Dave Clarke team bike. I'm a TRF Lancashire group member (along with my son who has a TM 300 stroker), and we get out into the Lake District, Peak District and North Wales pretty regularly. The area you visited for your Force ride out last year is one of our regular haunts.

One of my regular riding buddies has an 11 reg FE390, and i think one or two other group members have Bergs too. I'd certainly be keen to join your weekend in May next year, possibly with one or two others if we'd be welcome?

Adrian

Adrian

....with open arms and a french kiss on all four cheeks!

seriously, I have to question though: where the hell have you been all these years? where was your head?

welcome to the 'place to be' - UHE!

show your friends the photos of the last force ride and hopefully they will be up for it too. get them signed up to the web site and say 'eye' here please? I'm TRF cambs and we move about quite a bit. we can never get you blokes down to cambs coz the view is flat and the riding too hard but we find it challenging enough! so if you're ever a glutton for punishment then you know where to come....

suggest that you say 'eye' along with your son first and it'll all flow from there.

regards

Taffy

Thanks for the welcome Taffy. I'll pass on the kisses though if its all the same to you.

I really don't know why i haven't discovered your forum sooner. We have our own forum for the Lancs TRF for similar stuff, but obviously much much smaller. I've heard of your shop of course, but i'm on the doorstep of Dave Clarke's place so tend to use his services.

Your right in that we should try to travel further afield and try out different areas. New Years resolutions and all that!

Cheers
Adrian
