It's all sounding like it will be a great weekend, how much interest is there from the supermoto contingent. A weekend riding the roads of Wales, anyone up for it? :?:

Darren.

this is north wales your going too!

North wales police formally labeled the 'Taliban of traffic' in the media, good chance someone will end up with points

It's not just the sheep who are worried then     ...............only joking. So it wouldn't be a good idea to leave the decibel eater at home then, don't you need a licence to get points    .

Is this an indication of the supermoto clans intentions. I risk points every time I unlock the garage, we'd all ride superdreams if we were that worried about them.

I'm sure that the detail is somewhere in the 10/11 pages of this thread, but what date is this gig and what is the exact RV point?

Maybe the OP could edit the thread title to include the date?

I think it's agreed that some of us will ride on the Friday 29th April which is a national holiday for the royal wedding and then the core will ride saturday and sunday the 1st May and then I guess most with a long way to go will disappear monday (a bank holiday) mid-morning. the location is a camp site called wern isaf on the edge of Llangollen.

I hope some other SM boys will get involved and indeed I will have a 2004 FS650 on the road by then.... but i don't have any road gear nowadays so I'd have to work at it.

anyone else in the UK fancy a day or two riding in north wales?

only thing I'd say is that the weather can be bloody horrible by then! but a ride over to bleanea and a walk around the slate mines would be a great ride out or go to port merion the location for the prisinor (TV series in the 60's). shed loads of coastal towns that would make a nice ride out. infact theres a road through the middle of wales somewhere goes N-S that used to get in the MCN top 10 list of rides.

My home village of Betws-y-coed has a biker gathering at the railway station every sunday morning and numbers 3-400 in the middle of the summer. so that is sunday sorted out! LOL!!!!

well I've been handing out quite a lot of leaflets. each UK package gets a rally leaflet so it'll be nice to see this thread near the top over the next 3 Months.

Would love to see this get some momentum with fresh names coming so if you're reading this and THINKING of coming - well say yes! Fergus is coming up here from Kent and we'll travel in 2 seperate vehicles he having a huge tent and me bringing 2 bikes and a load of spares so no room in one vehicle. I think Arkley123 (James) will come with one of us.

of course in the UK, 1 in 2 customers I get is a 650 roadbike rider so we do want to see a group start there - a world first if it happens and if it is to happen it'll be in the UK i'm sure!

out on the old girl today with James but racing the new one next week.

Taffy

was looking at some of the links about the town and saw the pics of the royal hotel. stayed there with a road bike tour back in '01. i couldn't recognize it til i realized that their pic showed the back from across the river. here's my pic from bridge street.

Ned if you want to relive your Welsh travels you're more than welcome to borrow my 650, in SM or offroad trim.

Only fair to have an American on the UK/Welsh Force Ride when the stateside force rides had welshmen on board.

ya, good idea. have cypher send me the money he's got saved for the fr4 trip and i'll be right over. the sm idea isn't a good one tho. i'm fairly dangerous on the roads in limey.

If i could tag along for a ride sunday that would be great ,Should be able to get down saturday evening .
Got teesside track day booked for friday and will need to swap wheels and brakes over .

Been a few times now to chirk / llangollen so have a good idea of the area and am happy to tall end charlie a group to help out and have a laugh .

Just a timely reminder to say that anyone with a road bike is invited!

I'd bet there are at least as many on-road 650 owners as all the other CC and bikes put together! One would guess that IF you ever get past all the two-way traffic you might get it over 60mph so i think we're talking sunday afternoon riding rather than saturday!

Who has actually booked a pitch at the campsite? Is it worth trying to centralise cooking etc. anyone got a large BBQ they could bring? We might find a sheep to cook.

james (arkley) is bringing his dog, thing is a pain in the arse! mad!!!! anyone seen the film 'king rat'

I shall be driving to the greasy spoon each morning I reckon Fergus - you know me - healthy living and all that....

but a barbie on saturday night would be a must I'd think?

Bob's Chilli???????

If we did manage to get a barbie to come out to a campsite on saturday, do you think she would mind cooking?

I'll be up to Llangollen by the Friday lunchtime, but call me a party-pooper as I'm staying in The Hand with a few friends from UKGSer.com. We'll have a short bimble on Friday afternoon but will be riding an 85 mile loop on Saturday before heading south again.

I really don't want to piss on anybody's chips, but if a few of you want to join us on for our Saturday ride, I'm sure that we could accomodate.

that doesn't in anyway constitute being with us does it? different bike, different company and then inviting 'us' to ride with you? you have DEFINETELY pissed on our chips and I take it as a slur. even the bloody hotel is the one I recommended! It leaves a sour taste in the mouth that you have done this to us.

however, onwards and upwards without you is what I say! :D :D

Come, come - don't take umbrage!

I've often stayed at The Hand when riding trails in that area. Those that know me will realise that my Saturday offer was not in any way meant to dilute the fine work you and others are doing in organising the Force ride but a genuine and sincere offer to accomodate any capacity overspill that you might have. What would have been churlish would be to say that we're doing our own thing and nobody else could join us.

If you and Eddie wish to slide down to The Hand's bar on Friday evening, I'll gladly buy you both a beer.

Greg

PS - I will be riding my 'Berg! My riding friends will be on KTMs, WR450s and G450Xs etc. As a group you've excluded us from the Force rides.
