UK Force ride 2011

cypher said:
is there going to be any final instructions.

all i mean is;

sarturday, 10 am from ....

sunday 9 am from ...

and which route, maybe.

nothing to detailed.
we don't have leader Cypher so I don't have the definitive word here but we were thinking of sticking to the american model and that is to get up, get your breakfast and be back as soon as you can. of course 9am is really early to be suited and booted but 10 is just lazy so somewhere in between.

there are less of us to organise so hopefully we'll be ready nearer the 9 than the 10.

but fergus snores and I need my 7 hours sleep.....

Taffy

reason i asked was that there may be some like myself who might travel up for just a day or two and not camp.

so knowning where to be and when might be handy.

then I suggest that on the wern isaf camp site for just after 9am would be good. we'll ask everyone to be fuelled up BEFORE we set off.

Job done.

We can begin to start to leave at 0900, how many bergs are we starting? They aren't always in the mood or is it just mine?!

A good point with being fully fulled up first thing in the mornings.

Fuel stations are now very sparse in rural Wales.
I have planned the routes so that there is a max of 60 miles before a fuel stop so if everyone is fully fuelled in the morning there will be no problem.

There are no fuel stations near Llangollen so it is essential to carry fuel with you to top up the bike before the next days ride.
Here is a link to the nearest fuel stations. The BP garage at Halton, just before Chirk on the A5 is 24 hours. Pot luck with the rest.

we used the whitehurst garage which is on your right before you even enter Llangollen. it's not so bad if you trail out of town at the eastern end.

Think the Whitehurst garage is a 7am to 7Pm garage but cannot guarantee that.

The ride went well saturday.
It is very dry and dusty at the moment but any rain between now and then will obviously change things.

Not long now :bounce3:

Any idea on how many are turnimg for this get together ??? can ORANGE bikes come along for a trail ride ????

that's a tough one. I'd have to say that for us regulars this is a chance for Husaberg enthusiasts to get together and enjoy each others company. there's only one rule and that is a non-husaberg rider has to be sponsored by one who is.

Just to say that I have yet to collect the T-shirts, my supplier must be really cool!

If she doesn't get them sorted tomorrow morning I'll ask her to head towards Craig if you could come slightly south mate and bring them up friday night? no idea what she's playing at?

I've checked through what we have been getting in the way of will and won'ts and I think we have 19 pledged of which 2 are on the road.

of the rest 5 aren't responding to life threatening e-mails so they are out. so at best 14 but I suspect more like a comfortable 8-10. if it was 14 then we can split but otherwise looks like one group to me.

I am rushed off my feet trying to be ready so won't mail again till we're done. see you all there. :bounce3: :bounce3:

Got the old berg through its MOT today - cutting it a bit close to the wire but sorted so see you all tomorrow onwards.

Re Knobbys request & Taffs response - seems that the UHE members have relaxed their insistance on new members adding their location & bike in their signature...this really helps in giving advice as you instantly know who where & what your're talking to...see my signature - you can see I have a berg & a husky smoker & that I'm in the east of England; so if I asked if huskys could come, you'd know I was also a berg owner too. Having said that & being a silver sponsor, I was still told that I'd need to be sponsored if I wanted to take the smoker. Suppose I agree as it is a Husaberg force ride not just a general trail but to be honest, the more the merrier so long as Husa is the dominant mark by at least 2 - 1 !!!!!

As I live localish 30 miles away and i know the area very well I am the other rider helping Eddie as a run leader, but if there is only 8-10 people attending then my services may not be required..

Hello All,

i've been keeping a low profile from this thread as an ongoing back problem has been threatening my attendance for the last few weeks. I didn't want to tempt fate or start getting too revved up for it without being sure i would be able to make it. (A herniated disc has already cost me a snowboarding trip and a months work this year)

Sadly my back has deteriorated again and i can't risk damaging it further and missing more work as being self employed that means no money. The riding itself would probably be ok but sitting for long periods ie the drive up from the south coast really wouldn't do it any good.

Totally gutted, especially having seen Eddie's photo's over the last few months.

Even more gutted as i now have an almost impossible job of avoiding the bloody wedding tomorrow.

Enjoy your weekend boys and boyo's and i look forward to seeing the photo's and reading the stories.

cheers Carl

Have a great weekend guys... I'm on the wrong side of the ocean for this one :?

well first report is i was up there yesterday and there were 11 of us in total including the SM riders, 9 of whom were on bergs.

left about camp about 0945 and got back about 1645.

The going was bone dry so made the trails quite easy, riding along the dusty tracks in the shadow of the mountains you'd have thought were were in italy or spain.

7 of us went for a meal then I left them to come home as they were going off for a few pints.

have kept it short and sweet as i'm sure the chaps who were there the whole weekend will have alot more to say.

forgot to mention that about 3/4 of the way through the day my counter shaft oil seal went south after 2 years, you'll be happy to know that you dont actually loose all that much oil and what you do loose oils the chain quite nicely - bit like a built in scott oiler.

If anyone wants photos to know what to look for i can post then up but its pretty obvious
