Force Ride 4

Sweet! Thanks kadlec. Do know of a cheap way of shipping or one you prefer?

i shipped a bike from texas to nevada and i remember [freight-air or air-freight or something like] that was the fastest and cheapest. you can use your own container, which u probably dont have, or rent theirs. the only rub was you have to drop and pickup at their facility, they dont do door to door.
i'll go into a trance and replay my life so i can remember their exact name. hopefully i wont go too far back in time to when i was an alterboy. ..but its not like that...the priest never touched me.....no matter what i tried...

Ok the state camping facility is almost walking distance from HARMELS resort. So logistacly it would be best to use it.They were more than accomodating at the MSR/TUCKER ROCKY ride. The restaurant is very good and there is a bar..

well i dont think we can any better than this. some people have said they wouldnt mind being "not right next door" to me. understandable i guess. the weird thing is its the people i'm riding up with. oh well...no figuring some people out.

so can we get an official vote, or whatever it is we do.....

??? HARMELS resort & state camping facility ??? yes, no, other

I have no preference. Either is fine with me.

I just need to teleport my bike there cheaply.

I got two quotes and both are in the 700 dollar, one way 8O ballpark!

Tuts, Forward Air is cheaper. 635 one way. Still way too high. I was hoping for $600 round trip. Anybody rent Husabergs there?

Forward Air

Cool! Looks like my buddy with a 650 Berg wants to come along also! Somebody narrowed down the dates so we can make plans.

What trail systems are in the area?

my only 1st hand experience was from fr3, but i can safely say that there is more trails, of any difficultly, then you can imagine. really that many and that varied.

I'm pumped! I know it's still 6 months away but I have a lot of planning to do to get there from Florida. I spoke with kadlec yesterday and that got me very excited because I have a place to ship the bikes. When I called him, he answered "This is Fritz" and thought OH!!! THAT Kadlec, I've seen his name in magazine over the years but the username didn't ring any bells for me. We spoke for awhile about the trails and places to stay. Looks like my friend and I will ship our bikes to Fritz's shop and fly directly into Gunnison. I have friend in Denver who is coming and another friend that lives about an hour away who I'll try to get to come also.

If someone one will put up dates in a poll or here on a post, I'd love to be able to narrow things down and lockup my planning so that all I have to do is save a crap load of money between then and now.

In case no one noticed Schwim created a FR 4 forum, and I added a when are we going poll to the FR 4 forum. Please vote for a date.

Thanks,

Dale

Put a posting up on uship.com and I am sure you will get some reasonable quotes.
I have shipping arranged. Thank you for the suggestion.

I was just on http://www.harmels.com/ site checking it out and noticed it says right on the front page that they close Sept 13th until the next May?

That could possible be a good thing. I would think they may consider staying open another week with say a group of 100 or so coming in. Could have the place all to ourselves (probably the way they would want it anyway's).

i think that would be great.
berger, are you talking to them about this option?

i know fryguy cant make it but i really hope json, charles, taffy, dezduster, and a few others can make it too.
the waiting for the date is more exciting than making parole.
