I'm in, cant wait to ride with you Mr. Smooth. :) Too bad you can't stay longer.

Me too buddy. I've never ridden West of the Mississippi. I'm afraid I'll ride off the side of a mountain due to staring at the scenery.

FWIW I plan to go, but very likely won't be able to ride (some say I never could). If I do ride it'll only be on C rides riding sweep or just plunking around on the easy stuff. Just being there will be great.
I really hope that Ned goes so that I won't be the oldest or ugliest. It's bad enough that I have to drive that far with tuts. I'm trying to talk his parole officer out of insisting that i install a breathalyzer on my truck just because I said that he'd share the driving.

if dez goes..i'm in! dez and i can do the "cc" c ride. we can do a short ride, stop and do some oxygen. ride...do some oxygen, etc. got my 400 running good. better than the old body.
"cc" = cardiac cripple

Ned I look forward to seeing you again and I accept the challenge. I've been working on mounting an oxygen cylinder to my bike and I've got it plumbed into a neat little mask so I don't have to use those ignorant looking nose thingies.
I'll bring my handicap parking mirror tag so if we have to drive anywhere we'll always be up front so you don't have to walk too far.

Ned, playing himself down again.

lulls you into a false sense of security then roosts you in the face

i agree with your comment about ned and think you should throw dezduster in the same grioup.
dezduster gets you off mental balance with the 'achy this and wore out that' and then proceeds to fly by you in the snottiest of stuff. i have gotten a decent amount of payback by 1-switching his pain meds with ex-lax 2-putting his choke on when he isnt looking and 3-adjusting his front brake so is drags. much easier than stepping up my own game.

As I posted in the "When are we going to have FR 4" it's set for the 15th-18th of September.

Let's start working on the accommodations and rides/activities! That is of course if Ned, Tuts, and Dez are done exchanging their barbs :D

DaleEO.... I think that you may depend on Ned and me to maintain decorum, but asking tuts to be civil is like asking him to stop breathing. (Was that a barb?)

Anyway, having missed FR3 I have no knowledge of trails or accommodations in Colorado. I leave it all in your capable hands and will accede to the wisdom of you, Berger, Fritz and of those who went before.

Having been involved in helping to organize past UHE Force Rides I will emphasize that all of our members need to put plans in order as soon as possible to allow this ride to be planned well in advance. Some stragglers are inevitable, but those who want to go really should do their best to give advance notice and make it easier for the planners to set up the logistics. It is tougher than you think to coordinate large groups into a cohesive event and not just a free-for-all trail ride. As info gets posted to this site just respond as requested and it'll all come together.
I suspect that rides will be based upon degree of difficulty so be ready to make a good decision regarding who you ride with. That way you can be scheduled for a group with similar skills to enhance your ride and not be either left behind or slowed down. There will be plenty of genuine A+ riders, C novices, and everything in between. Everyone will have a blast and meet a lot of interesting UHE members. See you there.

Hi everyone I am a new member although I have been lurking here for 2 years since I bought my 09 450 fe. I am really excited about force ride 4 in gunnison. I belong to a riding club in michigan called the thunderbolt treewhackers a bunch of old and retired guys who ride on marked trails in the forest every saturday from march till the weather gets too cold. I will try to talk some of them into going to colorado or will try to hitch a ride with Kzoo or someone from michigan.

Thats a haul, but sounds like a must do.

Im thinking of doing/bringing the usual RV. Is this ok? Is anyone else RVing it?

Yes I am. There are some public camp grounds close to harmels. I'll post about them when I can, don't have the info next to me.

FYI,

I had a couple of emails between myself and my contact at HBG N/A the other day. HBG N/A says that they are in for FR 4 this year, but, it has yet to be determined as to what extent yet.

I should have so more information in the coming weeks.

Forks, shock, swingarm... That's all I have left of the 'ole girl...

E-Ticket and Flying Ant (wife - '08 KTM 250 XCF-W) are driving over from Portland, OR and will most likely be staying at one of the cabins at that resort thingy. Will make reservations sometime in mid-July.

We're both solid B riders, use Dunlop trials tires, like technical single track, and both our bikes our street-legal.
If things go well, we're going to swing through Moab on the way home and sneak in a couple days of slick-rock'in.

Looking forward to riding with everyone! Cheers, E-Ticket
