I can't remember why the KOA would not work last time. I am pretty sure I checked on that option. It does look promising.

I don't have a big toy hauler or camper. I would be coming in a Subarau WRX and a 3-rail trailer.
So, getting a cabin or motel room somewhere works best for me ... and possibly some others.

Not whining ...just inputtin' ....

I have an RV but driving that puppy from south Florida would cost close to....one million dollars. Plus 4 to 5 days in travel time round trip. So I would likely ship my bike, fly in and stay in hotel or cabin.

....so that no one is lumbered with alot of work.

i think that people dont really know all the hard work that goes into the behind the scenes stuff.
its a real tuff job and again i want to thank all of the guys that did the work. i dont want to list them cause if i forget someone they might get offended. thats how i roll, never say or do anything offensive in any way shape or form.
this ride, i am willing to pay an 'administrative fee' if needed to help encourage/offset/assist in the detail hammerings.

Ok everyone check out this website. it will be one of our options. www.3riversresort.com. Can ride non street legal from cabins.Retaurant and bar across street. No R/V hook ups no camping. There is camping owned by the state with full hook ups up the road a few miles.A friend of mine own's the place,he will make sure all is good! I have a few other things I am looking at. Check it out give me some feedback. How many people want cabins.hook ups, camping? I know we do not know if the ride will be here, but I want to check into things anyway. Thanks Fritz

Here is another option www.harmels.com, the camp ground I mentioned on the post before this is 3/4 of a mile away. 37 cabins $215 cabin's are $118 after Sept 15. Did a 3 day MSR/ TuckerRocky ride out of there last year. It was a great place to base out of. No gas but I have a 200gal portable fuel container.

A big +2 from me!! And yes, the same for me:
3-not good ... but can live with it
6-i need a cabin (for 2 peeps.)

Flying Ant will be coming along with me on her 2008 KTM 250 XCF-W. And don't worry about her, she runs a Dunlop D803 trials tire and rides *very* well. Has put 3500 miles on "BabyK," loves technical trail riding, has been to Moab and Baja (3 times), and used to race in the Elsionre Grand Prix, China Hat ISDE, etc...

Do we have a "target timeframe" yet? I know *nothing* has been decided yet ... but mid-August? Mid-September?

Thanks for your work, Fritz! Cheers, E-Ticket

Now just get her a new Husaberg and then there will be TWO husaberg gals! I'm in 8) I vote for a cabin, beer within crawling distance, and a campfire to hang out at.

I'll do it! Just as soon as they make an FE 250 based-off of the KTM 20 XCF-W. :^)
What's more likey is that we'll make her another BabyK when they come out with a fuel-injected 250 XCF-W .... w/ PDS, please!

Man, I hope this ride comes together. Riding dirtybikes in Colorado has been on my bucket list forever! - ET

This is where the other 1/2 of the people stayed. I liked it there alot. Central location to Gunnison and CB. The big problem was no RV parking. They had some spots, but would not use them.
They definately have the room. If you could work on them to make some accomadations for RV's I think it would work. When we were there I would guess they were at 20% capacity. I'm sure it would be worth there while if they would be willing to make it work for a large group.
The state run campground was less than 2 miles down the road, right on the river.

The state run campground is about 5 miles from 3 rivers only about 3/4 mi from Harmels. In the morning when I can get a map out I will give exact mileages.

Anyone have a good lead on shipping a bike up there? Is there a local motorcycle shop? Anybody planning on vacationing in Florida and driving back with my bike?

Ok the state camping facility is almost walking distance from HARMELS resort. So logistacly it would be best to use it.They were more than accomodating at the MSR/TUCKER ROCKY ride. The restaurant is very good and there is a bar.MRSMOOTH I am a HUSABERG/GAS GAS dealer. You or any one else is more than welcome to ship anything you would like to our shop.
