E-Ticket and Flying Ant (wife - '08 KTM 250 XCF-W) are driving over from Portland, OR and will most likely be staying at one of the cabins at that resort thingy. Will make reservations sometime in mid-July.

We're both solid B riders, use Dunlop trials tires, like technical single track, and both our bikes our street-legal.
If things go well, we're going to swing through Moab on the way home and sneak in a couple days of slick-rock'in.

Looking forward to riding with everyone! Cheers, E-Ticket

Right on!!
I expect this event to start picking up steam in the next few weeks.

hey everyone waffling about this years force ride in gunnison, I have some strong feelings about riding dirt bikes and one thing I know for sure is that anyone who shows up this year should enjoy the world class trails, beautiful vistas, helpful people, and good times that come from attending such an event. I and my wife were at fr3 and even though I rode a crf 450 x , which I loved more than any bike I can remember , I got to try out all of the 2010 husabergs and ended up buying an 09 fe 570. Not being very techncally savvy , my main concern was about not having a kick starter. well, after around two thousand mostly single track / fire road miles, the only Parts I have had to buy for the bike have been about 7 or 8 rear tires, 5 or 6 front tires, and gas and oil. the bonus is that now , I believe that my husaberg is just as dependable, indestructable, and idiot-proof as any Honda. As for my concerns about the kickstart, the original battery-probably manufactured in 08, still starts easy every time, especially after tipping over. I hope we can attend this years ride, but if we're not there, keep the wind in your face and the bugs in your teeth! respectuflly, Mike and Rayann Jones, Tucson, Az. P.S. - thanks to fritz and husaberg and everyone involved for putting on an epic event . Happy trails...

Thanks for the great post Mike,

Just to let everyone know Husaberg N/A will be there again this year with some bikes and swag. I am still working out the details with Andreas.

Just to make it official: you da' man.

:^)

Greetings to all. I am a longtime lurker and relatively new Husaberg dealer in Oregon. I spoke with Andreas at the dealer meeting and just got off the phone with Fritz. Both gave their approval for CycleBuy to come to the Force ride this year to meet other 'Berg riders and learn more about the brand. My wife and I had the pleasure of riding in the Spring Creek Reservoir area in 2009 and look forward to riding there again

We own the ex-Acerbis Fun Mover and could possibly haul 3 to 5 bikes and gear bags to Gunnison and back from our store in Eugene, Oregon. Estimated round trip cost would be $160-ish per bike with gear. Based on current diesel prices, it will cost us about $1200 in fuel to drive to Gunnison and back so hauling 4 extra bikes would cover about half of the fuel cost.

Anyone interested in having their bikes and gear hauled to CO and back, please PM me or call CycleBuy.com at 888-284-4588.

Cheers,

Woo-hoo!! Looking forward to seeing you and Bell in Gunnison!
And who knows, may give you a jingle on your offer. We're still torn about sneaking in a day or two riding in Moab on the way back home to Orygun.

Oh well, film at 11:00. Cheers! E-Ticket

Cyper is coming ....???

Oh, geez. I'm out. (lol)

OK EVERYONE LETS GET FIRED UP!!! 2 months until the ride! We still haven't decided where we are going to stay. Our options again are:
1. KOA in Gunnison, Hotels are within 1/2 mile of campground and we can ride out of Gunnison however bikes have to be street legal. If you have at least a head light and tail light you probably won't get hassled even without license plate.
2. Harmels which is a 45 min drive outside of Gunnison. They have cabins and there are also USFS National Campgrounds within walking distance of Harmels. Harmels also has a restaurant and a bar. We would be able to do all of our riding out of this area. www.Harmels.com. There is NO gas station at Harmels, however, I have a 200 Gal Fuel cell that we can base out of camp ground if we need to. Daleo said he would keep full for all of us to use..lol
I ride out of Gunnison and always have without a problem. However, we need to decide as a group, where we think we want to stay.
We had record snow this winter, so all trails are not yet open at this point and they will not be ridden as heavily and will be in great shape for this ride.
I can go with a GoPro and take pics of KOA, Harmels, and the USFS campgrounds if this will help to make a decision.
Let me know
Fritz

The wife and I have to do a hotel or cabin as were driving over in a Subaru WRX and 3-rail trailer.
We *could* do the cabins in Harmel ... but are leaning towards Gunnison for the gas and flexibility on restaurants and other services.

One other possible downside of Harmel's is they want a one-night deposit, or 30% of your total stay. Which could get expensive if you have to cancel out. Motel/hotels typically only get you for one night, if that.

Both our bikes are street-legal so no issue there. But we do run trials tires so don't want to do 5 miles of pavement if we don't have to.

Cheers! E-Ticket

I reserved a cabin at Harmel's awhile back. I can get my deposit back but it has to be 30 days prior. I'll stay anywhere I can but it would be nice to firm up where by the first week of August.

A lot of peop;e run trials tires here. Dunlops and Michelin's do not hold uo. I do not sell them at my shop for that reason. Pirelli's are the way to go.

How are we going to decide where to stay? Vote? Poll? Let's get it rolling.
It sounds like its a choice to either drive 45 minutes to ride or drive 45 minutes to multiple restaurants.

We are working on it. We should have some more info by this weekend.

Cool! Many thanks for your effort, guys! - ET

Looks like Svendog and I Coronaberg will make it to the ride. I will bring 2 extra street legal Husabergs 1998 FC 501 and a FC 600.
We will be leaving Southern California Riverside area going thru Las Vegas on the morning of the 14th coming home on the mourning of the 18th. We can bring three more HUSABERGS for a total of 7 & 2 people for total of 4 in a four door truck with a four rail trailer. Those that choose to ride the 600 make sure your arms are firmly attached! Plans are subject to change.

Hello everyone. I went up to HARMEL'S yesterday and talked to the owner, who advised there definitely will be NO dry camping allowed. He has 37 cabins, enough space for 150 people. Again, there are two (2) national forest campgrounds within a half mile of Harmels.
Just wanted to give a heads up.
Fritz
