Evening all, not sure if its been suggested before but what about a UK force ride? Enjoyed reading about FR3 last year and now the Aussies are sorting their ride so would be a good a time to get something sorted before the newly arrived sun buggers off again.
What do you reckon guys, if we wait too long there'll be no green lanes left either.

Re: UK Force ride 2010

I would be intersted in doing something; could arrange a few days at a central location to ride the lanes or look at a mass ascendance on a H&H event or practice type event?

Re: UK Force ride 2010

has been discussed a couple of time but never really came to anything.

probably the closest thing we've had was when a gang of us went to the IOM in 2007

Re: UK Force ride 2010

It's probably a bit late for this year as the days are drawing in etc. but would there be any interest in one next year.

Depending on numbers I would have no problem in setting up a couple of days trail riding in North Wales.

Stop at a good campsite, bring our own beer and a big barbecue job done.

Or if people want to go wild, how about Toms Farm in Mid Wales, never been myself and would not want to camp the night there but could be a hell of a place for a meet.

Re: UK Force ride 2010

would suggest a site with access to proper food, a pub in crawling distance and then we could cater for green laners and the SM boys going off for the day their own separate way. just an idea and shouldn't restrict us one iota.

as for trusting someone after 2 posts well- let's go a little further fella shall we?

I withdraw from organising a second trip to the IoM during the august BH weekend 3 years ago but for sure - to go to the IoM, despite the travel costs -would be thee place to be.

what's your SP then fatlad?

Re: UK Force ride 2010

Ok, I understand the 2 post thing but it is an idea for next year and I could be in double figures by then.

I lead trail rides most weekend so when I was reading this thread I thought it would be straight forward to organise a simple weekend get together.

Just bought an 08 FE Husaberg (old type), so far so good. The suspension is in a different league to the old Honda's I have been riding.
Hopefully there will be a few posts on here with some more ideas and suggestions..

Re: UK Force ride 2010

Where abouts are you based Eddie?
As far as i'm concerned, if a few others are up for it, an autum or winter ride up in Wales would be good and could get a few more interested in a bigger ride for next year.

Fatlad, are you doing the Track n Trail series?

Re: UK Force ride 2010

didn't spot the 450 rob? how long have you been back on a husey?

I live n North Wales hence the choice of venue.

Work is a bit bit busy at the moment so I would not want to post a ride and have to cancel it. Once this period clears I will post a ride in the ride out section and see what happens.

Re: UK Force ride 2010

Would I be welcome on my Husqvarna 250 smoker or would I have to put the knobblies back on the sm'd 501??

Re: UK Force ride 2010

lets get this sorted for next year on the first may bank holiday weekend which i think finishes on monday the 2nd may. there's no point in us all freezing to death and being pissed on from a great height so that's still late enough to get warm if inclement weather.

If we have a road rider around we can sort some rides out for them as the roads are great up there.

this is what we need:
a pool of info from riders who know that area well enough to plan a route or 7. so please step forwards. if we need to procure an outside rider who knows the trails really well then we should be prepared to do it. I'm a member of the TRF so I can ask a branch for support if necassary.

we need to be in the centre of the trails more than the road riders need to be in the middle of what they need.

I have taken two trail tours around Llangollen when working for trailworld so I could do one absolutely solid day there but I really want to get it sorted.

I guess we need a hotel near a camp site where motorhomes can be parked up for the three forms of sleep we are likely to use.

the UK is small enough that we should declare three days of riding and I guess most will perm 2 from 3. all riders on a Husaberg (SORRY!) unless supported by two other husaberg riders. so if you want to ride a non-husey you need to have two 'sponsors' who can't sponsor anyone else. that should make it easy to look after arkley while stopping people we've never heard of from just sauntering up. lets also make it a 100% UHE rule for all and a minimum of 20 posts. yes i know, why? because lets make the buggers jump through some hoops. this isn't just a ride, it's a UHE HUSABERG ride and they is the rules.

first things first we need a belting good riding area. let's focus on Wales for this one and grab a spot.

say 'eye'?

Json/DaleO can you put this whole thread in ride and rally report.
Bob: asked you a question above. also please edit your first post in this thread and change the date to "2011"

thanks

Re: UK Force ride 2010

Count me in.
As I said before no problem leading some trail rides.

Should get my posts up by then as well.

Re: UK Force ride 2010

that's your input?

I'm sure you have more...

I think I'll arrange it all that way i know it's sorted.

Re: UK Force ride 2010

I can give more input but am trying to stretch it out (increases my post count  )

Just registering my interest and willingness to help. Not bad as a start is it two or three days trail riding sorted. :)

Re: UK Force ride 2010

Hi newbi in the forum, just put a deposit on a FE 570 pick it up in three weeks. I'd be interested in a ride out, if I'm allowed? I'm a bit short on the post count, but that is quickly sorted. Some of you may know me from the TBM forum. Getting back on a 4T after a fling with 2t gasser. Can't wait to pick the new burg up.

Now this post count thing, has it all got to be in the same thread or can it be anywhere on the forum?

Bloody hell, dont vivsit for a while and the thread suddenly picks up.

Taffy the 450 is an addition rather than a replacement for the 650, decided that was a bit too brutal to race Hare and Hounds on!

Eddie, keep me posted on any rides you have coming up, racing once a month at the moment and struggling to find spare time due to work but you never know when a free weekend may line up with a ride out.

Ride plans look good, Eddie have you got routes through the valleys?

cheers Carl

Re: UK Force ride 2010

we'll need local knowledge of where to stay and the best rides in north wales. where are all the green lanes? is it best over near snowdonia or where I mentioned - Llangollen?

sort us that out ands we'll look for hotel near campsite near pub.

speak now or forever hold your tongue.

regards

Taffy
