Json can we have this in 'rally point' please?

I think we need a banner on the site as well as a leaflet we can mail to anyone in chatting, passing or even to keep a few in our pockets when out riding?

we found in Force ride 1 that it was good to have about 5-7 in a group and that there were 3 skill levels:

can barely be arsed
only slightly bothered
mental on a bike - mental off it

it's clear into which group I belong! but if we can get to 21 riders off-road we'll have the three groups.

anyone do a nifty lil poster?

Taffy

Bumped into Oldears, and his gorgeous 570, the other day at the local berg dealer so will hopefully be out laning with him soon.
Also meeting up with Rich T at a Track n Trail meet at the end of the month so may have a couple more from the south coast.
Several other Berg riders race TNT too so will metion it to them at the next race.

Cheers Carl

Doing Manby with the Banovallum this Sunday (having my 25th wedding aniv party Saturday night...doh...**** planning..probably chuck in my lid...) anyway there's alway 3 or 4 bergs at local enduros..need to get a flyeer out that we can download & print to hand out as Taff mentioned earlier.

You may not believe this..but not all berg owners are aware of the UHE.. 8O

Great idea and always good to have a date in the diary to look forward to. Please count me in on the ride. Have a space on the trailer so would be very happy to offer a lift to anyone in the SE who might need one too. :bounce:

the wern isaf camp site has a new e-mail address [email protected] and they will take your bookings.

I have booked the caravan for three evenings which is their minimum over a bank holiday weekend. I booked up the friday, saturday and sunday evenings so although it will be there to book on the monday evening I hope most will make their way there on the friday evening and stay ready for a saturday morning start.

they tell me that they can take bookings late for the camping but if you need a motorhome location WITH power - they will book up by the end of March time - or before!

our first task is to get the numbers high enough to know that it's on, happening, going ahead.

Well its starting to shape up.
With regards to groups.

I would like to lead an all day ride. Tempted to a dawn to dusk but something like 8:30 to 7 will allow some time to socialise in the evening.
My preference is for the bare minimum of stops. Food and fuel being the ideal other than offs and breakdowns.
Good progress as opposed to fast.
Ride whatever is there, I will go first through deep puddles and fords.
A bit of bog riding, steep rocky climbs and anything else thats there.

Keen to respect other users and properties around the lanes. The area is getting a lot busier and I'm keen to hold on to what we have got. If it is treated as a pay and play or race site it won't be there for much longer It doesn't effect the enjoyment and is really just a bit of common sense.

Does it sound boring?? I don't think that this will be a soft option.

If this is not to taste lets have some other ideas

Definately agree with saving areas for future use Eddie but two slightly more relaxed days of tough riding rather than one killer day would be better in my opinion. Having read the Force 3 reports the socialising was just as important as the riding in many respects.
Definately up for the tough routes Eddie but maybe better spread over two days with a few jars in between.

Obviously up to the whole gang and time available for the locals/riding route maps like yourself.

Any thoughts from the rest of the UK Force Ride posse?

Cheers all

Carl

well i think after socialising the night before, not in any hard sense but just late, lack of sleep and all that fresh air and energy burning means that a start before 10am was almost impossible at FR1USA and FR2USA.

even though we were on the same campsite, indeed next door to each other, it didn't mean we asked each other to rise together or do the same things at the same time. some shower and shave everyday others must have breakfast first before all else.

we used to wake up, walk out the front and there would be truck heading into town for brekkie and you'd yell for them to wait a second and go and put some clothes on! they would be a completely different bunch to the ones you rode with or drank with the night before.

steady riders get knackered first, fit riders ride smoother, faster and better for longer so when we get to three groups we can adjust from there. people don't want to be pushed around but a sensible thing is to say 10am start everyday get everything done, be togged up and ready and that INCLUDES fuelling!

so i can't really disagree with Ed except to say 3 days like he recommends would muller a group. it is a social event and I'm sure the 'go-slo's' will be home at 3pm and the 'extremo's' will be back as it gets dark! there is a point at which if the team leader still has you out at 8pm and you've missed tea time, showers are cold, fuel station has closed, you don't know which pub they headed for, yes there is a point at which the team leader can have a sex change operation without aneasthetic and be known as the 'blizzard chiller'! on account of sleeping out on his bike all night!

compromise and go a little earlier but we do after all drink real beer over here and suffer because of it!

Who said anything about just the one long day

The rides can obviously be tailored to suit what people want. It is meant to be fun if the riding turns into a chore that would not be right.

I realised the 8 to 7 is not to everyone's taste and it is an idea only. It allows a good distance to be covered and there is always a chance to relax for a swim at midday.

Not mine, it was one of them Jaffa things.

I did laugh he didn't think it was funny though. :D

Looks like this is starting to take shape.

Any clues who that is crawling about in the river Eddie? :-"

well if the riding is going to be like that its going to be a good weekend, have never ridden around north Wales ! i don't hoon around and like it technical

any news on a banner ?

Dave

well we'd like a poster and we'd like an advert here at UHE and Json is, I hope, looking into it.

I hate to broach the subject coz it makes us all posh and big-headed like but if we can get to 21-27 riders then we may well be on for a T-shirt i guess.

I'd really like to pass a poster on to someone else if they would do it. one that is both a flyer in A5 and a poster in A4. anyone interested? someone with powerful graphics abilities? usual stuff i guess: bike frosted into the background, husaberg written without infringing at the factory their style: dates, place, title, logo, motto.....

regards

Taffy

I don't think we need a certain number to justify T shirts, if we get into double figures we should be able to get a better price, if not they'll be all the more valuable!!

Wish i could help with the graphics, i do have experience, but the worlds slowest computer :?

cheers all, Carl

I've a 'hard copy' of all three Force rides here from the USA and the OZ one to! I'll lay them all out. we need to keep finding fresh faces. 20+ to 30 is what i'm hoping for and that is just the dirt boys.

Taffy

OK I have done a poster for this and it is in word. Its not bad, it's clear, has all the information and there was only ever going to be one photo on the front of our first force ride!

so is there a way of getting the poster up here?

what do we have to turn it into to be uploadable because it won't show as a word doc?

I have nowhere to host it at present.

regards

Taffy
