IVE JUST GOT A 09 450 AFTER THE 99 FC501 THE BIKE ITSELF IS WAY BIGGER
I WEIGH IN AT A FEATHERING 60 KG ( 132 POUNDS) AND HAVE STANDARD SETIINGS.
I'VE NEVER REALLY PLAYED WITH DAMPER/PRE LOAD SETTINGS
CAN ANYONE LAY SOME SUGGESTIONS ON ME?

Hi Zeus,
Nice buy!
The new bergs seem to favour light springs to weight ratio.
So, i would be looking at new springs first off for your weight.
Then set sags, adjust preload, then play with damping.
Maybe a 68n/mm rear and 4.0n/mm fronts ?

Cheers,
Nick

RE: Re: SUSPENSION

that sounds like a good start to me adjusting the rear sag on my 09 450 really changed the handling and backing off the preload on the forks made the bike feel really balanced

Another Valley Force customer I know weighs 63kgs & he runs standard springs in his still & loves it.. None of his clicker settings are like what the manual says though.
