That's good to hear! My FS570's valves are still within spec at 257 hours. Now at 270 hours, exhaust gasket has started to leak and water-pump oil seal gone bad. Hopefully just minor stuff.

Keep the reports coming!

I whent for a little ride on sunday and crashed/broke my kneecap:devil:
Bike is fine just need a new front brake reservoir because the little nipple thingy where the hose connects to the master cylinder is cracked now
Just one year after my crash where I broke my shoulder I decided to sell it :(
I never owned 1 and the same bike for such a long time wich tells a lott how much I like this one but I am just worried that if I keep it what will happen next:unsure:
Anyone wants an awesome handling/fast hsb 570:eek:

Hoi HusaBelg,
Sorry to hear that youre injured, and in a short period of time, again.
So you are selling the bike, are you sure?
If you are recovered you could ride again:)

I can only say beterschap en voorspoedig herstel.

Groeten Rens

Damn, sorry to hear that HusaBELG!

Thanks!! for all your posts on here, quite inspiring and appetite-inducing. And had lots of solid info in them.

(P.s., falling off the bike in dirt tends to hurt less :) )

I made a very stupid mistake wich caused me to drive straight into a ditch so I didn't fall on the pavement ;)
I don't think this injury will be too bad but the one for my shoulder costs me 4 months till I could get back to work...
Now I think maybe 1 month and will be fine (hope so).
These things just can't keep happening that's why I think about selling it.
It's the 3th time I end up in hospital from riding a bike in 7 years so....
I put a lot off time/money/love in this bike and I am sure gonna regret selling it but still in doubt :dontknow:

U need to think positive..... Not negative...
Get well.... Start off small steps ... Work ur way back on ya berg ... That's ya gold ;)

Hi HusaBELG,
Why don't you recover first before selling?
I know it's bitching to be"out of order " again, because i had kneesurgery last februari and now 16 september had surgery on my neck ( double neckhernia ) so i had my fair share of things:eek:
But so far i am not selling my old Berg.
So think again!

Grtz Rens

p.s.Ik wens je veel wijsheid in je beslissing

Bedankt

For the moment the bike aint going nowhere because it's in my van and I can't move it so have to wait till I get new brake reservoir and when I can lose my cast around my leg...
Maybe I changed my mind than already...
There is some interest in buying my bike but mostly dreamers so far...
They want to pay me the price I paid for modifications to get the complete bike for free not gonna happen:p
I know that I can't recover all the money I spend on it but I think my asking price is more than reasonable considering this bike has almost 5000€ of mods in it:eek:
I want a good 5k at least people who think they can get it fo 4k are

I don't think selling is an option for less than 5k and don't expect anyone willing to pay that either...
So I will probably end up keeping it...
But the bike with +- 225hours I think it's a little risky to try and squeeze another riding season out of it...
I just saw pictures from somenone ktm 530 with a blown up motor piston/cylinder/head/crank/valves everything was destroyed:eek:
Would not want that to happen to me specialy because I invested a lot of money to get the head ported by fp also...
What should I replace...?
-piston
-crank bearings
-big end
-camchain
-gaskets
-valve springs???
maybe the gear selector forks/gear sprockets if signs of wear what kind of money should I expect to spend on it...

And everything OEM parts????

No problem for me to get the engine in/out myself but I would rather leave the rebuilidng to soemone with some experience/knowledge...

The bike runs great by the way zero leaks or oil consumption still feels strong/rides like brand new...

It would be good to strip the motor and start measuring if you feel the need to rebuild it. is the motor noisy at the minute ?

Virtually every part is available on the aftermarket, its up to you, I used ktm mains and main oil seals out side of that I used

Cp piston
Sce gaskets
Local bearing supplier for trans bearings and seals
aftermarket rod kit
Bundaberg rum for motivation.

A professional rebuild would run into the thousands at a guess

Besides the typical husaberg intake sound ande the loud fmf pipe the bike is not noisy:)
I know the biggest weakness on bigger bergs are the crank/bearings on the 550/650 previous model also camchain/valves but haven't heard any isues with the 570????
So maybe do'nt need to replace valve springs/camchain?
Piston I keep stock but gaskets are very expensive might look for something else than oem ktm especialy the ones for the head/cylinder are very pricey:eek:

Old bikes= 206 , new bikes = 207 mains and a stiffer crank, the bottom end is very solid. The valve gear is solid, most people who check valves report very little movement. But after seasons of supermoto, I'd tip the whole thing upside down and refresh the lot, big end and mains, valve springs and cam chain

Oem head gaskets are crap, luckily the berg piece is identical to ktm, so you are spoilt for choice with non genuine options. Full copper or hybrid types seal well.

I am lookin at this site to get an idea for pirces
ktm-parts.com

Could it be that prices whent up a lot in about 2 years time can't remember a piston kit being 500$

MY list so far

78036029000 VALVE SPRING EXHAUST $11.28 $22.56
78036028000 VALVE SPRING INTAKE $6.59 $13.18
78636013000 TIMING CHAIN 114T 08 $64.79 $64.79
0625063020 BEARING $25.89 $25.89
0617253212 NEEDLE BEARING 25X32X12 HK2512 $6.89 $6.89
81730015044 CONNECTING ROD REPAIR KIT $359.51 $359.51
81730007200 I Husaberg Piston Kit FE 570 09-10 $408.55 $408.55
0412357217 CYL.ROLLER BEAR. NJ 207ECP C4 $81.59 $163.18
0760354774 SHAFT SEAL RING 35X47X7 VITON $10.69 $21.38

total: $1,085.93

And this is without gaskets/and any maybe other costs I will run into once the engine is apart.
(worn clutchplates?/maybe dameged shift mechanism/wear on the gears... )
+ labour (new nicasli on cylinder?) pressing bearing in/out so roughly 1500$/1200€ if I could do most of these things myself....

the crank bearing is correct 207? (part nr) 0412357217
Don't know if this is a skf bearing or not...
I read on this forum NKN bearing is best but do'nt knwo where to buy I used google anyone with part numbers?:)

Nj207ecpc4 is the bearing code for the mains, ktm 690's use them as well, I found speedsupplies.com to be very good to deal with.

I be surprised if your transmission needs work unless you've been flat shifting

I'll see if I still have the invoices from my rebuild but it looks like you're well on the way.

Interesting stuff...
I searched for some parts mentioned in those threads sadly they are hard to find in europe and getting them shipped to my door I could get the oem parts for that price...
I will keep the piston/camchain/valve springs stock bearing/conrod/gaskets I might go aftermarket if there are better options out there :)

thx than I can order them through my local ktm dealer:)
What does flat shifting mean???
I sometimes upshift without using clutch and transmission still works fine only on very rare ocasions I mis a gear and then the bike revs and than CLUNK it's in gear again but I think in over 3 years that didn't even happen 10x usualy because not moving the gear pedal up high enough when upshifting riding wheely's...

Just found a great site for ktm/husaberg parts in germany...
KTM Ersatzteile & Zubehör & Bekleidung | KOLBEN KPL. | online kaufen
I copied all the partnumbers from above in this site only changed the bearings for the 690 type and came to a total amount of +-810€ in parts (minus some gaskets/getting crank rebuild)

That seems less than I expected:spin:
Maybe for around 1000€ completely rebuild engine:eek:

This any good???
I read the stock connecting rods are not always great would this be also better in terms of reliabilty I know it's lighter/faster but is spending an extra 150€ I want to be sure it is also a good choice for reliabilty...
According to the manual you have to replace the rod every 90 hours:crazy:
If I buy this I never want to buy a new one:p
