Anyone got experience with bridgestone sm slicks???
I never been a fan of bidgestone realy (because of experience on road tryes/road bikes did not like the feel of them) but never tryed these but can get a set for a realy nice price (new tyres DOT 2012)
On my previous trackdays I ran ractec sm slick on front and maxxis pre cut slick on rear good tyres only had a little chatter from the front in some long corners but maybe it's just a suspension thing....

I transfered money to my paypal acount (don't have creditcard).
So I could buy the DJH camchain tensioner...
It's impossible on the site to pay with paypal ordering outsiede europe so filled in a contact form (over a week ago).
But no reply yet....
Can buy dirt tricks to but do'nt like the design...
Is theyre anyone who could tell me the cct failure was something only from 09 bikes or should I realy get one for my 2010 570???
I am worried because I saw the damage from a cct failure on a ktm 530 and it wasn't pretty:(

I had a CCT over tension and ruin a 2010 FX450 on a -10 deg. F. morning last season. It was a mess. I did not check the oil pumps and it ran dry again because a piece of the cam chain guide got in there and locked up the oil pump and broke the gears. This ended up costing me two 520 Pistons and cylinders.

Now the bike is a 660, and all my Bergs run a DJH tensioner.

Damn :/

Say - What's a 660 like to ride?

Yesterday I did a big trip with my berg now almost up to 228hours but shifting between 5-6 I whent out of gear 4 times...
When I got home I layed the bike on its side to check the oil magnet and there is some metal shaviings on it (I Saw the same kind of bits already a few times before do'nt know if these are from bearings or from gear/sprockets.... )
I took a pic of it will upload later:cool:
Bike still feels realy strong pulling wheely's in 5th gear without using clutch
(I do have to stand up and pull the bars but still :p )

232.5 hours on the clock still runs great but decided to check the entire engine.
Timelpase gopro mode picture every 30 sec ;)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emeAYfCflNg&feature=youtu.be
I destroyed a small socket trying to lose a bolt holding the engine to the frame (lost the big 13 size sockets :p ).
I am expecting the DJH cct any minute now.
I forgot one important detail before removing the engine...
The motor is not in dtc now and I wanted to check the valves also one more time before dissambly what is the easyst way to turn the motor into dtc now?

Cool vid. Funny how you have to wreck these bikes to get the motor out.

To find tdc I would removebthe spark plug, whack it into gear and turn the countershaft sprocket until the crank locking bolt lines up.

Wel yes with the fmf header jou have to get the TB out of the way and the rear schock out to get enough clearance for removing the midpipe It was also tight to get the motor out of the frame I scratched the frame slightly because I didn't get it out at first:rolleyes:
I think when getting it back together the best way would be ....
Install motor back without head/clinder than get that mid pipe in there and than the rest of the motor otherwise there will be no paint left on the frame lol.

I'l try tdc later :)

Wow..that's a lot of work to get the engine out! hope i don't have to pull mine out any time soon. :confused2:

Took me one and a half hour or so and I lost time fiddling with hydraulic clutch because I didn't want to re bleed it and tryed remove the entire lever/assembly but didn't have enough clearance to take it of without removing 1 fork leg... but in the end I just loosend the 3 bolts on the engine to remove it so I wasted some time.
and I don't have very good tools/experience so I reckon some more skilled people with better tools get the engine out in less than 1 hour;).

What I also would like to change after rebuild is the crank breather hose sick of the oil in the airbox all the time but how do I solve the problem and keep everything nice and tidy.

PS engine is in tdc now put the bike in 6th gear and I could turn the motor by hand with the front sprocket thx:D

Now it's back in neutral and engine is blocked with the nut by the oil filler (removed washer).

Just curious, can one of you 570 guys tell me how long the 570 big end pin is?
Some pictures of the crankshaft would be interesting to, trying to compare
to the 628 crank.

Cheers spanner

I am still in doubt for a carrilo rod time is running out...
I ordered a djh cct payed about 85€ including shipping to get it here I got a letter from customs they want a bill/description etc to tax it I am pretty sure this thing is gonna cost me almost 120€ now:unsure::mad:
If this would happen with carillo rod that would be a nightmare...
If I had a contact in usa I would ask them to buy it for me (I pay in advance for it) than when they get it remove all the bills/stuf with price on it and send it to me as a gift this way I would not pay customs and get things cheap.
It's realy insane how much extra you have to pay for things when customs stop/check the package:rolleyes: its like 30% +13€ to pay for theyre "work"

I think there was a thread here with rod dimensions/drawings???
From bushmechanic or berglsmerg cant rememeber

shipito can remove paperwork from a package for $1.00, you fill out your customs paperwork online which is printed and included for shipping.

they can also do assisted purchases for you .. but this can be expensive

attached a draft of the 570 rod, dimensions are correct just the layout is a bit spaff

pretty sure its the same as the ktm 530 pin that we got from pro-X ....

Shipito is a beautiful thing but be warned that they failed to remove the invoices for me once - I paid the $1 and everything :) it was a big complex package though and it didn't really cost me any so I didn't mind. But for an expensive item I'd add a polite special request to be extra sure they get everything.

but again - shipito rocks

Well thx guys I bite the bullet and registered to shipito and contacted thumper racing to get me a carrilo rod.
Don't know what I would do without you

Not sure why you are replacing the std rod with a carrillo unless it is of a different length?, the std rod looks quite strong.

Bushie, I was trying to get an idea of how much thicker the 570 flywheels might
be compared to the 628. The 530 pin is about 1.5mm longer, no much of a difference.
I see the 530 rod has a different part number to the 570, and as far as I can tell
is 120mm long vs 120.8 for the 570.

Interesting link here for 570 tuners especially ,

Well idk why realy just want the best/most reliable setup for my motor in the long run I thought the different rod would be lighter/stronger ...
Most things stay stock....
