husaberg fs 570 "project"

Wossner makes a piston, 8583, it's 25g lighter than a cp, also elko iirc are the oem manufacturer, their offering for the older 650 bikes is dimensionally the same.

Flat shifting is when you pull cogs at full noise without the clutch.

The stock rod is staunch enough. It's the twisty bendy bearing cage that gets all bent out of shape and eats the hardening off the big end roller track. A PEEK coated m-profile cage is the best bet.

I thought the stock piston was the lightest no???
I might try another piston but I must say I am pretty impressed with the stock one my bike is sill not using any oil or lost compression.
What I want is a bike that performs the same like it is now or better (in terms of longetivety/reliabilty) 250 hours for a rebuild is pretty good I do'nt think you could get that with a high compression piston and I also think it makes the bike more twitchy/less powerfull on lower revs just to make it a little faster on higher revs or am I wrong???

I had work down to the head by fp engineering so my bike is a little down on torgue and power in midrange/low revs compared to with stock head.
But I think it's still plenty powerfull enough down low and it used to be just dead in top end and now it makes way better power above 7000rpm:happy:

(but if I change something and I lose more power under 6000rpm that would suck...)
I also like the fact you do'nt have to rev it up so high and still have decent acceleration:cool: )

Sorry I'm asking but what do you mean by cp????

I called my hsb dealer in total there are 4 options for a new stock piston kit.
piston+pin+rings group 1 or group 2 (2=slightly bigger oil scraping rings)
Same as above but also with supplied head/cyl gaskets...
Now here comes the funny part without gaskets kit it's 275€ and with the gaskets it's 260:laughing5:
So I will order group 2 with gaskets 260€ seems like a good deal to me:)
And my dealer will be happy that he sells some stuff to me so later if I need his help he will be more willing to do something for me other than I buy all my parts somewhere else:mrgreen:

Haha, gotta love economics.

CP is CP Carillo, the respected piston/rod manufacturer: Home ... used to be CP Pistons and Carillo rods and they merged I think? ... this is also considered the good stuff, afaik :)

FWIW

pistons from the later model "650" are the same dimensionally, slight difference in valve pockets nothing to worry about. as an oem part the coated elko 650 piston is much cheaper than the 570 piston.

specs are 100mm bore 20mm pin 24.5mm from pin centre to piston top, piston dish volume -10.5cc approx 278gm

the wossner 570 one is lighter than the others because of the pin weight, there are flat pistons from wossner and CP that you can machine a bit and use to up compression

prox is the cheapest but has no coating and a tiny miniskirt

yes thats right, sorry im a bit late

its same weight piston as the 80mm stroke 650 piston, the difference is in price .. the 650 piston is cheaper than the 570 piston

the wossner piston is roughly the same weight but the pin is approx 20gm lighter

If I had known this 5 days before as a weight weanie:p
I would have ordered a wossner but can't go wrong with stock piston either :)

is reliability the same w/ that pin? in general are any of them better/worse long term than the other?

the wossner pin is good tourist .. its not a high stress part

only thing really to mention about the pistons longevity is Dr_C killed a lot of 650 ELKOs running quite high compression. the coated ones should last longer all other things being equal.

:spin: awesome I will look intot that to order that pin
Another question about bearings the bearing on the balancer shaft replace for stock or also better options?

Have a look at this needle roller 0617253212
Just bash a good quality 6302 2rs c3 aftermarket bearing in the other side, same goes for any trans bearings.

Don't forget this seal, think it's 32x20x12 ? All I could get from seal importers was 15 mm deep so I used a surface plate to hone it down. 0760142460

thanks I will probably also replace the stock cct for a DJH one because the cause for the ktm 530 broken engine was the cct failed...

I got confused because the part describiton NJ207ECP was the same I thought I needed different bearings but now I get it :p same bearing lower price just order from ktm instead:happy:

Thx I send the link from the wossner site to a dealer where I have bought a wossner piston before for my fs650 hope he can order the pin for me:)
