husaberg fs 570 "project"

Finally got a date for the fmf header end of next week it should arrive I got a new black magura handlebar to can't wait to put all the new stuff on the bike in a week or 2 :D

Black Magura bar? What bend?

I like my Pro taper evo carmichael bend in magnesium color. Old Factory Zuk/stock KTM bend was horrible.
Just finished taping the spokes and epoxy primered them using DuPont 840r epoxy. God, my head hurts from that horrible smell even though I used mask.

Tomorrow is paint time...hopefully the Spies & Hecker industry stuff will stick to them. Never sprayed a base coat before that needs hardener.

sx bend same as stock I like that bend
Hope you get a good result painting ,tomorrow after work I take my bike to the dealer to take the head of :)
(already done most myself)

I hate painting.

Always the same mess, headache and damn preparations (masking, sanding, placing the stuff) for what... well good looks, and most likely for a long time. Decided to throw a rear brake lever into the mix, because I had some epoxy left in the can.

My injector came back today from the cleaning and flow test, along with some wires, connectors and harness tape to do ECU wiring and some other wiring job on the bike (ignition key lock, hid).

Phew.... just got done the painting on spokes. What a sh***y job that was, will never do that again in my garage.
Started sanding the epoxy from 9:30 am and ended painting 14:00. Now they are drying and the whole garage smells like chemical plant.

Looks like I managed to do them pretty nicely. At first had major paint coverage issue when painting under normal lighting. After full coat around 9 spokes I checked for coverage and it looked ok, then checked again under led light and holy crap there was bare epoxy covered steel poking under the paint everywhere. Then started to put second thick coat on still wet first coat and crossed my fingers that it would stick and not run. Luckily it went nicely and did the rest of the spokes with same method. The 12€ airbrush that I bought yesterday was so crap that I almost cried when it randomly sputtered, would only blow air sometimes and the spray pattern lol.

The paint was very easy to paint though, very high gloss for single pack base coat and importantly cheap as chips.

Now just have to wait for them to dry dust and handling free, and then clean the whole damn garage from minor spray dust and paint drops. :cuss:

sounds fun
Head/ecu is ready to ship if I make it in time tomorrow after work it's gone to fp :)

Any wear on the rocker arm rollers? Shafts? My intake one looks somewhat similar like yours, but can't tell exactly from that pic. Is that a marking only or a groove that can be felt with fingernail?

Cleaned the garage today, was a mess but now it's much better and no more solvent fumes. The damn paint is slower to dry than I thought! Still feels somewhat tacky, but boy does they look good. 8)

Hopefully tomorrow can start lacing the wheels and maybe truing. This time I won't overtorque the spokes.

Well looks like both you boys are getting stuck into the bikes, I better pull my finger out and have a go, my bike will never look as pretty as either of yours, as long as it goes fast I'm happy 8) Don't hesitate to let us know how the tuning goes husabelg !

Finnish winter lasts usually 5-6 months and I have only 17" wheels so gotta make up the time somehow.

If the bike becomes beast I will get new suspension revalved for enduro/ice, smaller brakes, higher offset triples and most importantly a set of 21/19 wheels for the next winter, and just ride the damn thing.

Just a thought husaBELG, make sure you send your intake spigot (rubber boot) as it will need to be matched to the head and TB, this can't be done easily after the fact. I found out the hard way that the intake port is oval and when you clamp the tb to the head the boot changes shape, and any matching done with the tb off the head will be incorrect.

I decided not to do TB
I can't afford it at the moment or I have to wait a few more months to ride the bike
I think I will have a reasonable gain already with my mods now (head/ecu/dna filter/fmf header).
I know it will not make a huge top end difference without TB but I'm happy with 5 extra hp (with the Tb it would be atleast 10)
No wear on rocker arms just some small marks on the cam but nothing to worry about.

I prefer to use my motard suspension when I'm on the ice. You dont need, nor want, plush high suspension there as ice is flat and hard just like tarmac. I find it easier to drive on ice when its stiffer and lower. I still use my studded enduro wheels (21"-18").

So no excuse, buy a set of enduro wheels with studs and get right out there on the ice for some fun!!

Ahh good point! I still need other triples than 14-16mm what I currently have. Would need to get the trail back on what it's supposed to be with big wheels. Some small 2 piston caliper on front and small rotor too, and maybe different master cylinder if my Beringer bro10 is too much.

Now I'm off to the big city. Gotta shop some clothes, buy some more SS bolts, go see few dealerships and look for something interesting and buy a bottle of Jaloviina.

I never tried different triple settings I actualy have no idea what setting the bike has now
I will look next week when I install the new handlebars.

Put them in the 14mm position, you will love it. More stable and still turns in nicely if you have suspension work done (lowered).

Got me some lovely ss bolts woohoo.
11€ for ~40 m4, m5 and m6 bolts in different lenghts and heads. Last time it was 35€ for 70-75 bolts or so and now the bike is approx 80% covered in stainless steel bolts. Overkill? Perhaps.

Update I've been busy yesterday:
-installed new front sprocket because I got a new chain.
-Installed beringer floating front brake rotor
-installed new brake pads+refreshed the brake fluid
-installed new black magura sx handlebar
-installed new handguards same as previous (zeta armor my old ones where still fine but looked VERY used  )
-Get the trailtech vapor back to correct wheelsize and used a code to reset the odo/total hours on the bike now I have the correct amount of hours/km's on the clock

I got an email from peter this morning (fp engineering) that my parts are on the way.
Still no fmf header though :cuss:
They promised me it will arrive this week...
Also ordered some mirrors (zefal spy) 19.90€ shipped for 2 mirrors seamed a good deal to me and they are installed/removed in seconds with a rubber strap around the bars
