husaberg fs 570 "project"

I came to 1700€ counting the mods I already did + what I still want to do
I know a stock tb limits the top end power but if you start with the 46tb you have to get that much other stuff done to the bike it gets way to expensive imo  I do'nt have sponsors and I'm not that great rider that al those mods would realy make sense
I do'nt expect the bike to be loads faster than before I just want +-the same performance in midrange and a noticeable gain in higher rpm's (now it feels strong to 7500rpm than the power just stops building a little...)
If I Would gain 4 hp/nm I would be very happy compared to my previous dyno run (engine completely stock just slip on exhaust/cut shrouds).
Now I have full system+dna air filter and will get it custom mapped and thinking of getting the head done...

I also own a 2010 zx6r that has great top end but the husaberg is more fun on the road or on smaller tracks :)

I just got a reply from peter that sounds very tempting but alot of cash (1000€) than the bike is tuned for a total of 2000€ only 300 difference for way better performance probably....
For head/tb/custom mapping damn I'm starting to consider going all the way anyway

Go for it.

I thought that same thing for almost a year before ended up getting everything. My tuner said that the head + compression makes noticeable difference in the bottom/mid area and how the bike responds to throttle inputs, but top end still suffers from small TB and lack of cam.

Show pics of the head after Peter has done it, would like to compare it to mine when I have it done. This would make interesting comparison if you got the tb and tuned stock ecu only. I have the cam and Peter ECU in addition then, but otherwise very similar motor.

I've had also few sport bikes in the past. K4 gsxr 600 and K6 gsxr 600 that I built quite alot in the 4½ years I owned it.

Talk about top end motor...peak power 122whp @ 14600rpm and over 115whp up to 16000rpm rev limit. Torque was lame as is any 600 bike, 64Nm @ 12k

Wohoo managed to fit the new ECU into place!

Had to cut the box where ecu sits in and route the wiring a bit. Damn tight fit but managed to get everything back in there and seat goes on like before. Sent my injector for flow testing and cleaning to be sure it's in tip top shape. Not bad price 24€ for clean and flow test, and few extra euros for new o-rings if needed.

Used this shop here: http://www.finjector.com/

Nice :D
I would like to see your bike on the dyno soon 8)
I'm sure I will send my head/ecu to FP but the TB is still something I'm not sure about I will think about it coming days, have to decide before next week when I send my stuff

Well if you have a good local machine shops around, and by looking the oem TB you can bore it out yourself quite simply. Just need to source a bigger butterfly valve to fit in then and adjust TPS sensor voltage back to normal.

The key is to keep the taper in the tb bore!! If you bore it out say, over 44mm you end up with just a straight pipe that won't even flow what it was before.

I'm not messing with my stock TB
Or I do'nt mod Tb or I'l buy one from FP
Next wensday is the day the head comes of and I hope I can ship my parts on thursday :)

Sounds awesome. 8)

What are you getting from Peter?

-Head
-Cyl & Piston mods for compression
-Tb
-ECU flashed with 450 map

?

Not sure yet
Definetly:
450 map>10400rpm
Head work
maybe TB

I have to see my next paycheck first

Get the TB! Power falls off above 9000rpm way too quickly, and the extra revs won't really help imo. But if the timing is alot different in the 450 map, then it might be a good idea to have it anyways.

The way the bike is now I never come above 9000revs  (trailtech dash with rpms)
I shift at a good 8000rpm on the track 9000rpm its dead allready  pulls to almost 10 but no need to :?
I checked the calendar next paycheck is 05/03 if it's a good one I'l tell FP to get the TB
I still have to pay for my fmf header to that still is on its way since november

FMF + seat mod and it will pull above 9000 with slightly over 50whp. Head and tb...60-65whp maybe?

Visited my tuner yesterday and dropped off the head+tb and other parts for getting worked on.

He was really impressed of the throttle body, and it's design. Said that it's going to make a really huge difference when the head is done correctly. I was actually surprised when he said that the intake might not need epoxy in it. Just enlarging and keeping the taper shape.

Looked also both stock cam and the welded thumper cam, and had mixed thoughts of the welded cam. Did not liked how it was done having weld pits on the lobe when it was ground up, and why it was used cam... My dad said also that it's used cam and has seen motor hours. Don't know why Travis sold me used cam, but if it works guess it doesn't matter.

He talked about the new 450 KTM's having single cam motors now, and it seems they are using visually almost same heads too! He took both my cams for inspection and comparison to look up if the 450's cams are interchangeable.
There are few different profiles available for the 450, and that means cheap cam upgrades and OEM quality if they seem to work!

Valve sizes on the Berg head is really good. Said that we should see what the stock valves give and then maybe think of +1mm oversize exhausts. Intakes are really good size.

Left my ECU also so he can study it and connect into it via software. Less tuning time on the dyno when knowing more of the product using.

Can't wait to get all the parts back and start building the thing.
Bought yesterday some Spies & Hecker heavy duty black paint for spokes, clear coat and plain black waterborne base coat for some plastic parts that I'm doing over and changing the color from matt to shiny.

Also went to one of the better hardware stores and bought almost 100 stainless steel bolts. No more crappy KTM bolts that starts to rust in no time.
Not bad price for A4-80 class bolts, ~35€ for everything. Looked up some bolts on pro-bolts.com and only 20 M8 ss bolts there would cost just a bit under 100€.

nice keep it up :D
What exactly has to be done to fit that nice TB?
remove tp sensor and what else... is it hard to do much work...
I just ordered some things with bergos tank filter+tank sock/hsb shirt 8)

Well physically to install complete TB (old tps sensor from oem tb and injector) It seems to plug in quite nicely when using KTM 990 SM intake boot (Peter can give part # for that). Airbox needs to be modified also to get that huge velocity stack fit inside and sealed with some sealant so it won't draw dusty air beneath.

Throttle system needs to completely different. I had to bought newer Berg 250/300 2stroke complete throttle housing and throttle cable. There is only one wire pull system on the new throttle body. Then there is of course the head port matching to tb.

A bit of work, but everything can be done with time and enough beer.

Put alot of bolts on the bike and motor yesterday. Starts to look a real motorcycle now without those galvanized chewing gum bolts. :D
Need more bolts though now...was too hasty when making the list of different sizes and lengths.

yikes 8O
Seems to be pretty complicated/expensive to...
I think I'l drop the TB mod
You realy need different throtle cables/housing :x

I wouldn't say hard. Just a bit thinking and fiddling in the garage for few nights. Yeah Peter told to use 2stroke throttle setup. It's quickly ~500€ for fully installed TB. We'll see how it goes in when I have the motor back in frame.

Had to consume one of these last night in the garage. Would not be possible to screw million bolts in otherwise.

Actually quite fine. :D

Yesterday I had to sleep for a bit longer than usually. This aging thing makes hangovers like nightmare compared to what it used to be, when I was ~10 years younger. :|

Hey maKe,

Your a better man than me  ... I would be hung over for a week ( may be even dead ) after a bottle of that super juice.
