husaberg fs 570 "project"

So the 530 rod would work or maybe different piston pin diameter?
Maybe the cheapest way to rebuild would be:
-prox 530 rod for (half price compared to 570 oem rod or carillo)
-Get a custom 100mm 530 wossner piston
I do'nt see why you should ever replace a rod I mean it's a very hard metal part and it doesnt realy wear against anything if you would just replace the big end bearing every 2-300 hours you should be fine no???
My dealer said that you can't replace the bearing for a stock rod ...

I asked thumper racing about my order aparantely they included the pin/bearing already in the cost with the rod happy

530 rod has a 1mm smaller small end and shares the 72mm stroke, there are already a range of 100mm ktm big bore pistons around. So yes a budget conscious berg builder could save some bux I spose.

My schock has never been serviced since new so I want to look into this to the stock spring rate is to high for my weight....
80-250 spring... (according to manual for rider equiped 75-85kg)
My weight is max 75kg full gear with backpack etc so 70-75 should be where it's at.
To adjust the suspension a bit to my weight I have 1mm less preload on the schock (10mm instead of 11).
But I would like to have a new lighter spring for rebuilding the schock what would be a good number for me 72-250 and put the preload back to 11... ?
The forks have been serviced last year and I want to wait to service them till next winter and maybe add lighter springs to now I just run with less preload on top of the forks.
The stock front springs have a range of 75-95 kg...

I'm sending my schok away to get new oil/gas in it...
I just cleaned my swingarm/exhaust

You can't see on this pic but there are some nasty spots on there from riding through salt/winter.
I would like to get it coated black but what to do with those 4 hole with rubber caps in it for the thread holes just buy cheap/short bolts to put in there and beraring just long bolts with big spacers to cover them up/protect for paint...

The more I do on this bike the more I want to change:eek:

I got the wossner piston pin, noticed 2 things:
-it is only 5 grams lighter than stock 66gram vs 71
-the wossner pin is almost 1.2 mm longer

I hope it is not to long so I can still easely install the pin retainer clips with stock piston...

I also got this from someone who makes thes himself:cool:

I think you are correct, if the big end bearing cage is replaced before the
silver platting has worn off you could well get a lot more use from the rod.
Once the platting has gone the cage rubs against the rod`s
big end ID, starts to wear the surface.
I found this process well underway after 190 hours. Maybe 100 -150 hours
in my case would have been the time to inspect the bearing condition, something that can not be accessed with out dismantling the crank.
Hours will vary acording to how the bike is operated of coarse.

So If you rebuild just the crank/rod bearings every 150 hours you would be ok
And "save" money on the rod but on the other side 150 hours would mean rebuilding it every 2-max3 years in my case and all the time it takes to rebuild bike getting/new gaskets/stuff maybe it is better to just ride 250-300 hours and than just replace everything In +-4 weeks I start taking the lower cases apart and ordering all my parts hope to get the bike ready by +- halfway februari :D
Just received my lighter schock spring looks ok slightly more damage than my old spring but still looks ok.
I send my schock away for servicing I get it back in about 2-3 weeks

I understand exactly, I am looking for a spare motor as my rebuilds seem to take up to a year:eek: Hope to have my latest on the road in a few days all going well:)

Now with a spare motor I can be working on one and riding at the same time....

I am getting ready to setup shipito acount/stuff and also want to order a new endcap kit for my fmf pipe....
Problem is that I can't order it on the fmf website because they don't accept my phone number so I can't proceed to the page where I can pay...
I hope you can pay by using paypal on fmf website because I have no creditcard...
Tryed mailing to customer support using contact on the website so they could send me invoice but I can't mail them for some reason my pc says my mail system does not support it...

Products - MX - FMF Racing

Weird ... I don't understand the world sometimes. Let's not sell stuff to people because of ... ?!!?

Anyway! I'm guessing that the mailto thing in the contact email URL isn't working well. What happens if you only copy/paste this in?: [email protected]

edit - damn, the site converts emails to links ... but try not clicking on the link but just copying/pasting the address (or typing it in ... it ought to be sales at fmfracing dot com :) )

some offtopic....
My friend wants to rebuild his fs650 from 2008 because the engine is noisy and we don't know service history and it's a high hour/mileage bike...

Dirt Bike Valve Springs, Retainers And Seats Clearance | Kibblewhite Valve Spring Kit | MotoSport

these are supposed to be best valve spring but not listed for the later 650 bike???

We are gonna us mostly stock parts except for valve springs/bearings and if the piston is necessary maybe go with wossner...
Any advice is helpfull on choosing parts:)
And where to get special tools needed for the job:happy:

Thx for the ebay link might be worth considering even though they are a little more pricey than ktm dvsk :)
Prox also same weight +- like oem price difference is big .

the 650 engine is out but didn't start dissasembly...
Now my 570 is completely appart crank/bearings/rod all seem to look fine but some of my gears are a bit rounded of to select next/previous gear that's where the shiny metal parts came from on the magnet I guess....
There are 3 damaged gear "sprockets" the selector forks still look ok....

I will post pics from the damaged gears later in the meantime the delivery date for the rod is delayed (surprise:rolleyes: ).

And I ordered the kibblewhites for the 650 ;)
