Hey all camping is a big part of the trip for us we are coming from Ontario Canada.1626 miles 26 hours or so.Plus bikes people and equipment and a back-up bike or two.Being so far from home thought a extra bike for insurance. We also save along the way on accommodations and food. Not to mention splitting the gas.So camping is a must for us or no FR3.Thanks Jeff

So we are back once again to the TallTexan. We just may have to get this done.

We don't have any alternative site that has RV or camp spots, so I say lets book the Tall Texan. Besides, I'm tall and from Texas, so it can't be a bad place.

The Tall Texan Campground it is!!!!

FYI - no pets allowed.

We now have the date and the place. The only thing missing now is US!!!

I would say each member going to Force Ride 3 is responsible for making their own reservations.

Less than 8 months and counting.........

Mike

Taffy,
I'm planning on arriving Thursday, leaving Sunday.

See you there,
Mike

I'm thinking arrive Wednesday sometime. I would like to get at least 3 days in. We will see how it starts to pan out.

I'm planning on getting there on Tuesday sometime, and probably won't be leaving until Monday.

That could happen too. I'm planning on taking a week off.

the plan for the las vegas crew is to arrive wednesday, and leave sunday night, but maybe sleep over sunday and leave monday.

the thinking is we want to be all ready first thing thursday am.

berger, this will also give us some 'quite time' together.

I'm sure it will be quite a time Paul, just probably not the quiet time you were hoping for :paranoid:

Hello everyone! I'm relatively new to Husabergs and this sight. This ride sounds like something I really want to do and I'm betting at least one of my buddies will want to come along too. I live in the icebox of the nation, International Falls, MN, so we are snowmobiling now (when we're not working), but it just isn't the same. I'm Jonesing big time for some two wheeled adventure. I picked up a used 06 FE650 that's fairly well appointed that I can't wait to get out and ride. I also have a KTM 950 Super Enduro and I'm hopin' to finagle an 09 FE570 sometime before fall (it's a bit of a long shot).

I haven't been through all of this thread, but I'm assuming there will be someone with local knowledge of trails, etc. along with maps and possibly some group rides as well as the option to explore on our own?

now i'll start politely with a warm welcome to UHE "simple man", i hope you enjoy your time here, learn lots, join in socially beyond the statutory 8 and 1/2 posts it takes to get your bike sorted but you'll forgive me if i tell you that i think you get tit-of-the-week-sirloin-steak for the nik you have used. in all the years i've been on a site; "simple man" is just about the biggest "shot-in-my-own-foot" i think i've seen! 8O 8O

add to that the fact that you don't know anyone but you just invited yourself and someone else we don't even know on FR3 and all in your first post! not a bad start!!!! but no here's more, you start "pissing" by telling us all how many bikes you have and how you are having a new one in the fall? it'll be for christmas i trust, at the foot of your bed and in a sock i suspect!

then you admit to not reading the thread which in UHE terms is "just getting going" which is sloppy but you then make a numpty statement like "i trust someone knows the trails" which is bordering on a crime against this site.

if you understand what a man's "stock" is you'll understand that yours is on the floor - no lower than that!!! i reckon it's so far down that you need to re-register again, PRETEND you have a totally different model and don't come from MN (wherever that is, i know there are at least 3 states that qualify but i think it's the one in the middle at the top) and don't have a friend plus don't have an orange bike as well.

so just suck in a deep breath, think on it, say to yourself, i phucked up today, but i get a new chance tomorrow to start all over.

i've written this using words i think you hopefully understand but apologies if you don't, we have several members here that can translate and bobzilla just about translates a full sentance now.

i'll just mention that well over half this site (i think more like 60-70%) are NOT from the USA. so have a nice day and rejoin with a new name that doesn't actually describe your mental capacity.

regards

Taffy

No, dude we just pick some random place that no one knows, swarm in like a cloud of locust and let the chaos and mayhem ensue. anywhere is good as long as there are an ample number of pubs and a healthy supply of virgins. Do not listen to Tuts when he tries to proclaim his virginity, he'll slip it to you and not give a courtesy reach around.

Tall Texan seems to be a good choice. I went down and looked at it (of course it's closed for the winter) There are 5 cabins but plenty of camping and hookups. Tall Texan is only one (1) mile outside of Gunnison. The street legal guys will have no problem riding from there...as for trailering...the non-street legal won't be able to ride from the Tall Texan...very similar to Moab ride. There are trails everywhere. Depending on where we plan rides, the guys will have to trailer anywhere from 5-20 miles max. If we do a loop to Silverton the trailering would be about an hours drive but well worth it. We will be able to round up trailers and assistance with that on this end if we decide to do that. You have to have a license plate or CO OHV permit as well. We will have CO OHV permits at our shop, also available at Forest Service in Gunnison. As for prior remarks about trails and distances etc....there is a reason why the Coloraodo 500, Rocky Mountain 400, Colorado 1000, and large majority of trail riders in US come to the Gunnison Valley in the summer to ride. There is no other place like it! It is an extremely Motorcycle friendly area. If anyone has questions or concerns feel free to call my shop at 970-641-7377 or post on this site of course.
Please don't think I have not been thinking about or paying attention to the ride stuff. I'm just not a computer guy. It takes forever for me to get a post done.
Fritz

Fritz, Maybr you should do like me, tell one of your kids what you need with the computer and you will have it done in seconds !
Later
Ron

Actually Fritz didn't enter this post. He asked if I could get it done for him. He stood by and dictated it to me.

Taf just thinks your another crude amercian Simple man.... ya sure you aint from Texas??
The group of members here that actually have the info and spend the time to help is relatively small and they think a bit of humility is in order before you barge in and invite "others" when you havent even been invited

We have enough mouth breathers , and inbreeds from NC already :p

Taff is just a cranky old man and most dont understand what he is ratteling on about anyway If he would ever learn how to start his bergs he could cut his post count in half

So maybe when we see a new member with the name of .... oh lets see...
Bergalissious  we can get off on a different foot.

B

PS
IF you do attend you will be welcomed with open arms unless you make a fool of your self
Remember you are in the riding company ofsome No Sh*t World Class riders (I have no idea how many OA and ISDE medals there are between them ) willing to help you with what ever you need and advice that you would never be able to buy at any cost. They really are a great bunch of guys

The Force rides are 2 years in the planning so I am sure that there will be rides guided for every level of riders except posers. Be sure you are up to the ride group you tag along with...... may be best to start out just a bit below your max  You could have a very long day.. Fritz can make mortals cry for the hiway

Here I am gently perusing this fine site, doing my best to stay out of the last few posts on this topic, even though I was dying to add my Texas-sized humor to it, and I'll be doggonned (that's Texas talk) if I didn't get pulled right into it. Well, I'm not fixin' to (Texas talk again) let anyone talk bad about us Texans. :D

I have always supported Bobzilla, his chili making skills. and everything else, and that's the thanks I get. :D And here I was, thinking all the time that I was being honored by my brethren in the choice of the Tall Texan as being the meeting spot for our ride.

One final thought--Would someone please check the plumbing capacity of the Tall Texan, in the event that we do have a chili feed? I heard that the campround in Moab we were at is now a Superfund clean up site.

Thanks for the support from Texas boys!

Wooo!!! Taffmeister. Sorry I if offended your delicate sensibilities. Was that your sense of humor or do you have some serious anger issues? I’m sorry if my “nikâ€Â
