F3 ride loops.
I stopped by Gunnison Motorsports yesterday to pick up my new bike. After a couple of hours to get the bike setup. I headed out to build my second loop.
The first one I have already reported on in this thread. That loop starts at 8000ft. It tops out at over 12000 ft. It's about 60 miles long half FRs and half single track. Level of effort is easy.
The second loop is a network of trails that are near the town of Sargents. Sargents is my starting place for both rides. So if we finish one ride early we can hit some of these trials. These trails start out at 8000ft. They never get above the tree line topping out at round 11000. This second loop can be made as short as 20 miles. Or the biggest loop that I rode is 60 miles total. There are several single tracks in this whole area that I never rode. They all are about the same level of difficulty. They all are intermediate type trails.
Here are some photos of the second ride.
Getting to the ride area near the start.

This is the kind of stuff that I label as technical riding. Not to bad.

This section was 3 miles or so long. About a 1500 ft climb in loose rocks. Slow technical riding. I over heated my bike 3 times in here. Twice it steamed. Once I was able to shut it down before it steamed.
Hot wet bike. Just what I don’t like to see.

This was a high mountain clearing. The ATV trail here is more like parallel single track. Not bad riding.

This section was about 45 miles of back country riding. I also connected back to the truck via 15 miles of paved roads. On our ride we don't have to do the paved roads. There is more single track to connect back. It was getting late and I needed to get home.
My trail speeds were 25 to 35 in the open sections. 10 to 20 in the harder sections. I was not pushing things to hard. During the ride I can go with a slower group. Or pick it up a little if needed. The main thing is to have a great outing.
I used 1.4 gallons of fuel on this ride. My new 570 set in the middle mapping setting is getting similar mileage to what my 650 or 530 did.
I was planning on spending a couple more days in the area. But I needed to bring my bike home to finish the setup work. I now have a fan. So I think that I am good to go.
Thanks to Fritz and Vicki for everything. I love my new bike. I could never say that about the last two Orange ones that I’ve owned. Once again Husaberg has hit a home run. These new bikes are the best.
