From what I gather, if yer' not on a road legal bike, it's not going to be a problem. The loops will cross near where the trial heads are, and there will be an opportunity to re-fuel. If I need a bit more fuel, I carry it in a couple of 33 oz. MSR fuel bottles that I put in my back pack.

Just a little concerned here, my FE570 probly won't make some of the rides because of the crappy gas milage thing, I already carry too much stuff, camel back, fanny pack with tools and tube and stuff, I can't carry anymore and don't like those front number plate tanks. HHMMMM what to do.

Sethro

Fritz is on a 570 so I dont think I would worry much about it. stick with Fritz and your gold :D

I agree with Berger Seth,

I'm on an 09 570 as well and after speaking with Fritz I'm not concerned either. In fact, I was just riding at 8500-9500' over the weekend averaging 14-17 mph on single track in the Sierra's and was getting pretty close to 40 mpg. So perhaps the EFI is really coming into it's own at high altitude and leaning things down.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Dale

cool, sounds good, I guess no worries then, hope to get the 570 soon so I can get it lined out for me to 1/2 way keep up with the gang!

Ok just got finished doing my forks and shock. New shoes to spoon on and a set of front pads. All who are worried about fuel Ill have the exxon valberg to do the remote fuel stops since I never want to quit ridding due to lack of gas.

Speaking of gas........... I need some dutch ovens for the chilli. Ill even make some sissy stuff for the less than brave. Come on guys any body loan me a dutch oven for the night???

Im in at three rivers ans John is with me . Who else is staying there. We plan on arriving on Wed so we can get used to the atilitude. Might bring the 690's to ride on wed afternoon on some twisties.

OH YEAH BABBY FR3

I am going to try to make it to 3 Rivers on Monday. Starting to get pumped.

If the bank gives me a line of credit I am coming otherwise it's out of the question now. Bought a new house, had to use all available income to pay for the initial costs because I can't afford to lose taking it from crappy investments. Moving into the new place Sept. 4th...bad timing. Anyways will know for sure sometime between Aug 31 and Sept. 3rd, it's up to the bank now.
No big deal after all Colorado isn't going anywhere and the only difference is the trails won't be clogged up with buttheads from this website! Hahaha

Only 20 days to go!

A little over four years ago Force Ride 1 set a precedent that may never be beat. There’s just something about the “firstâ€Â

F3 ride loops.

I stopped by Gunnison Motorsports yesterday to pick up my new bike. After a couple of hours to get the bike setup. I headed out to build my second loop.

The first one I have already reported on in this thread. That loop starts at 8000ft. It tops out at over 12000 ft. It's about 60 miles long half FRs and half single track. Level of effort is easy.

The second loop is a network of trails that are near the town of Sargents. Sargents is my starting place for both rides. So if we finish one ride early we can hit some of these trials. These trails start out at 8000ft. They never get above the tree line topping out at round 11000. This second loop can be made as short as 20 miles. Or the biggest loop that I rode is 60 miles total. There are several single tracks in this whole area that I never rode. They all are about the same level of difficulty. They all are intermediate type trails.

Here are some photos of the second ride.

Getting to the ride area near the start.

This is the kind of stuff that I label as technical riding. Not to bad.

This section was 3 miles or so long. About a 1500 ft climb in loose rocks. Slow technical riding. I over heated my bike 3 times in here. Twice it steamed. Once I was able to shut it down before it steamed.
Hot wet bike. Just what I don’t like to see.

This was a high mountain clearing. The ATV trail here is more like parallel single track. Not bad riding.

This section was about 45 miles of back country riding. I also connected back to the truck via 15 miles of paved roads. On our ride we don't have to do the paved roads. There is more single track to connect back. It was getting late and I needed to get home.
My trail speeds were 25 to 35 in the open sections. 10 to 20 in the harder sections. I was not pushing things to hard. During the ride I can go with a slower group. Or pick it up a little if needed. The main thing is to have a great outing.
I used 1.4 gallons of fuel on this ride. My new 570 set in the middle mapping setting is getting similar mileage to what my 650 or 530 did.
I was planning on spending a couple more days in the area. But I needed to bring my bike home to finish the setup work. I now have a fan. So I think that I am good to go.

Thanks to Fritz and Vicki for everything. I love my new bike. I could never say that about the last two Orange ones that I’ve owned. Once again Husaberg has hit a home run. These new bikes are the best.

In case any of you were wondering what the weather is gong to be like in Gunnison, you can keep an eye on it here:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.ph ... 06.927&e=0

You can move the map around by holding down the left click button, and zoom in or out by rolling the wheel on your mouse or using the up and down keys. Then just click on that spot and you'll get the predicted weather for that area.

Looks like the weather is going to be changeable throughout the day, so be sure and bring a weather proof jacket along, and put on some layers.

I can't believe all the schwag showing up for the ride.Ton's of MSR gear! Silkolene oil!Tu Bliss tire kit! Klim riding gear! There's more free stuff than I have in my whole store!
Went to tall Texan this week Didn't get to speak to Linda but spoke with her husband MIKE. The place is awesome! and they really seem to be excited for the group! They have an outdoor covered area that can seat 88 at a time with a full kitchen which Mike has offered for the Chili Feed! Hopefully we get some rain between now and then or during, it will make the ride much better!

Sounds great Fritz,

I was just going to call you about how much of the "stuff" had shown up, as I had asked the contributors to just send the "stuff" to your shop.

I have been watching the forecasts, my post above, and it seems like their is always T boomers in the forecast but there is never any recorded precip, so maybe it's only getting a bit of rain on the mountain tops? The temps look great for riding. It is going to be great to get out of the 100+ degree weather and smoky skies here in So Cal, and get up to the clear mountain air!!!

By the look of the view counter for this thread, it looks like folks are checking in and keeping an eye on what is happening. So, thanks for posting about the TT, and speaking with the owners.

Shared a few emails with Bobzilla and it sounds like he has got everything ready to go for the chili feast, and the shirts are on their way to the dealers and participants.

For anyone bringing a digital camera, I would really appreciate it if you could bring your storage card by my trailer before you leave so I can download any pictures you take on the ride. I am hoping to put everyone's pictures together on a CD, and then mail them all out to everyone. I also bought a helmet camera a while back and I think I have got it sorted out, and hope to take a lot of footage and put that on a DVD and send that out everyone as well.

Only 11 days left!!

Leaving in the morning for Taylor Park for this week end and then the Husaberg ride the next week.

I got my 2010 FE570, wooo hooo, trying to get it all dialed in, lots to do in a short amount of time, Is there any way that a dealer could flash my bike in Gunnison? I notice the bike pops allot on deceleration, I have read the dealers have been flashing the computer with the 09 mapping. Can anyone help????
