2008 AUS FORCE RIDE FINAL LOCATION AND DATE

RE: Force Ride 2008

Hi folks,
It's T minus two months and counting till the 08 Force Ride.
I have been talking to Rob at the BlackGold Cabins and all is good for our May Ride.
Please give him a call and book your accommodation if you haven't done so, and respond to the poll thread to let us know your coming so we can cater for you
More new trails have been found in the area and this is promising to be one awesome riding weekend.
Also PM MEDOGROCKET or STEVE if you are interested in the suspension workshop Friday.
So come on guys get your act together and be organised, we can't guarantee any last minute additions !!!

Cheers :D
Garry.

Hey Cafey,

Yep getting well and truly wound up for the ride! how are the numbers looking? seems like the numbers who poled are a bit shy?

Azza.

Hi Azza,
Yeh typical to form there is always a number of folks who leave there booking to the last minute !
Even our local guys that are staying haven't booked yet, but I will be putting the pressure on soon as we are only two months out. Doesn't matter how many turn up mate as we will have a good group and it will be a great time. Everything is in place for the Force Ride and the guys are still finding new trails.
Are you thinking of getting your suspension done at the suspension workshop on the Friday ?
Cheers :D
Garry.

G-day Cafey,
unfortunately not likely to be able to get Frank to do the suspenders, just cant afford it now, and tryin' to convince the missus that I should buy wildman's leftover exhaust too! - joys of a family and a mortgage I guess!

cant wait for the ride though, should start gettin my camera gear together and check my riding kit - has been bout' three months since last ride, so I'll probably have to do some hard learning again (but at least I'll have an excuse for my crap riding).

need to get two new tyres sorted before the ride also, cos the 550 likes to eat them up.

Azza.

Fair enough Azza, all in good time mate. Yes I would highly recommend new tyres as you will need as much grip as you can get on some of the hills. And a tight grip on your beer Saturday night is recommended also !!!
Cheers :D
Garry.

Hey Azza, I'll have the akro with me & some MX retreads to sell this year. I'm going to donate 2 tyres for the raffles or prizes.

Only 30 sleeps now til the ride, cant wait.

Hey Wal,
Cheers for keepin' hold of the Akra for me alll this time, am still having trouble justifying the $$$ to wifey though!

cant wait for the ride, but am a bit uptight about all the travel, not having done a roadtrip like this before, and tryin' to keep my mate Kyma enthused...

Feeling sore at the moment, dumped hussey big time last saturday in an endo landing off a 30ft tabletop, just managed to pull back from going over the bars, crunched chest into the bars and safrificed myself to save the bike. plenty of onlookers, no one got photos to show for the dastardly deed!

havin' a relaxed weekend with the family this weekend to recover!

Azza.

Steve/Cafey,

any idea of final numbers to date ? Should we have a quick last minute rollcall to make sure we have everyone covered for stuff like accom & prizes. Did we get a response from a bike mag to attend & do a photo/article etc.. Just let me know if you want me to chase anything up from here.

Cheers,

Wal

Okay guys,

Spoke with Rob at Black Gold Cabins to confirm booking, but there seems to be a bit of confusion.

is the intention to book into dorm accommodation and be all bunked in together, or are we booking cabins / motel rooms? Rob mentioned thatthere was some accommodation pre booked by 'husaberg', I guess this is what Garry asked Rob to put aside for force riders??

Wildman, Pids, Steve, Cafey, Medog.. what accommodation have you guys organised? let us know what the consensus is.

Cheers!

Azza.

Azza,

My understanding of the concept was that individuals make their own arrangements. Personally, I've booked a motel room, I'm old and like my comforts. Its all in the one place though, so its just the price that varies.

Dunno about a block Berg booking though.

Perhaps Cafey18 or MeDog can clarify as they have been speaking to Rob. Bottom line though is book and arrange what you want and let Rob know you are part of Husaberg weekend.

Steve

Azza can you give me a ring about when you are leaving to go to ride etc......

stuff to sell at Force ride

Azza

By request of the Bathurst DSMRA members that are coming I booked the Wren cottage which sleeps 8, so far we have 7 in it, as far as I know it was up to the individual to book what they wanted, there was some talk about the dorm but I don't know exactly, I think Cafey booked a motel room as his wife may be coming and he did not want to share her

Orangeberg has asked me to post that he has some things for sale at the ride, for example
a Berg hat and Stubby holder for $30 or
a Berg cap, Stubby holder and coffee cup for $45
he currently has 23 caps and 23 Stubby holders
and 8 coffee cups
If you want some let us know as he can get more or something else if required

And I'll have the shirts for those that have ordered them, plus a few extras for sale on the day. To be confirmed, but polos < $30 and Ts < $25.

If anyone else wants to order any to guarantee getting one, then get back to me ASAP as they will be ordered tomorrow.

Steve

08 Force ride....

G'day,

I wish I lived closer, as I am in townsville, Qld, or had more planning, having just recently purchase an 08550fe.
Hope it runs well, and becomes an eventful event!!
Might have to try and attend one in the future.

Cheers,
Jamie.

Hi Jamie,

There was a crew coming from Townseville led by Andrew Franzmann. All have bailed other than Andrew who when I last discussed it with him was planning to get a cheap flight to Canberra and I'd collect him on the way past. A loan bike being arranged.

Steve

08 Aus force ride

Hey Steve,

With the price of fuel, flights would be cheaper, but as far as a bike goes, that is awesome someone is willing to offer up a bike for him.....cool.

I had a quick look, and it is about 4500km round trip, but I havent the time to take off work to make it viable, but would be keen to try and hook up another time, or I am thinking of coming down to Sydney to ride with mates at the end of the year, so could do a ride then if people are up for it!!!

Nothing in concrete as yet, but see what happens and how much leave I have left....

Jamie.

RE: 08 Aus force ride

Okey Dokey, looks like a motel room it is!

the accom for the DSMRA riders must have been what Rob was on about.
