Weekend report.
This being my 6 th year of 'Enduro Mann' at the Isle of Man, i was wondering whether it was upto the standard of a Force Ride.
From meeting at Heysham and travelling to 'Clagmooar' B&B in Foxdales we all got on well and were proud to be looking at a garage full of Husabergs. Yes there was a lot of 'tech talk' and i'm sure even Taffy came away with some helpful hints, but at the end of the weeknd, it was testimony to the UHE that maybe we are getting these things working well as they all completed the task. Conditions were perfect, allowing a fast pace and to be fair - none of us could keep up with our guide.
The B&B was perfect, comfortable friendly and accomodating for our needs.
I would like to thank Gruntenberg for helping me on a particularly nasty rock climb and wish Cypher a speedy recovery on his wrist injury.
Thanks for joining me guy's, it was a pleasure meeting you and i look forward to the next one.

Regards
Ady

great photos cypher!

want to know where that footbridge was that's set against the twilight?
also: which road are you coming up in the last 2-3 photos?

i could edit some if only i could get access but for now i'll just say where

all of us photo is at 'eary cushlin'.
fuel station is at exit from kirkmichael village
lunchtime was in ballaugh village
i'm sat infront of the raven PH.
joey's statue and plaque is at the bungalow with murray's (now closed) museum behind
we met at lunchtime of day two at ramsey parlaiment square
the jumps (hops) were just below slieau froghane

while i'm here i'll mention my opinions of everyone's bikes!
fraser's fe450
about the same powerwise, suspension a little more complianyt on the front, ergonomics better due to bars up.
ady's 501 ('03)
lower ride, suspension was harsh, more torque but i could spin mine quicker to be nearly equal in a straight line
steve's 501
lower ride, smoother with kokusan, more torque but again, if i buzz mine i needn't worry about grip problems of bigger bikes.

mine, very plush even though completely failed seals means dives too far on front, lacks soft LSC on rear now that steve has told me!, very smooth engine-almost 'velvety' after the 501s and even cypher's bike a little.

not bad considering every photo after the first 20 or so, were taken with a smashed lcd view finder so i coudn't actually aim the camera properly.

some u can tell. others not

Sounds like you blokes have a great time minus the Fraser and Ned injuries. Great pics in the IOM gallery! After searching high and low, I could not find a picture of Taffy or Fraser with a pint of liquid refreshment in hand. Was this a dry holiday boys?

log

since when have you seen fraser with a beer in his hand? if you did it was the same bottle for 4 days the tight git! i now wear an expanded waistline due to the food and alcohol excesses so who got it right?

back to a watery soup today in an effort to get back to as was.

the guide could sink 'em, by goodness! stuart talked too much to drink, ady likes a drop, not sure what speed you'd describe gruntenberg (steve) as? steady (or avoiding getting the next round would be another! LOL!).

Ride report from the Isle of Man
Day one met Fraser in the terminal car park after he'd put his flat pack Berg together from the back of his estate car.
Ady, Stu, and Taffy rocked up , looked like the old rubber gloves and touch the toe's trick with customs when she took a looked in the back of the van .
First days riding , after a splendid full English breakfast , the flock of bergs coughed and farted into life , things looked good , filled up with fuel and headed out to the trails
Fook me it was straight into hurry up mode the guide Rich setting a good pace lot's of stone'y/shale single tracks kept getting deflections off the loose stones, had the fear musscle pucker'in a few times till you relaxed a tad.
Fair bit of road work between lanes gave you a chance to get a breather {And Taff to wax on about when he was last racing there on his Shutleworth snap TT racer}.
Lots of pre ride banter about the bike eating bog's sadly bit Cypher big time [hope the wrist gets better soon fraser] never ever seen a 19 stone body stop so quick i reckon if Cypher had parted company with the berg superman style , he'd of flew right off the Island no s..t.
Day 1 ended with lots of 'tech talk' and near miss stories no snags on the bike front, chain lube and tighten up then off to the pub .

fraser

can you answer the above please?

BTW. Rang Suzanne - no chance 08, ok for 09, but i may be in Oz for that month.

that makes things very difficult ady, for me to say this anyway but it may be worth considering going over and not staying at richards for this? there are several ways we could do this but the most obvious is to be in douglas - or somewhere like it. even camping!

i'm sure you have been told and may have experienced that the IoM is crime free. i've seen it and i know it to be true!

i'd be happy to camp it near/in douglas, after all it is august and should be quite good weather. the idea of hopeing that those that have booked '08 are not going to book '09, '10, '11 etc etc is extremely unlikely!

llet me knoe how you feel (and fraser and grunt)

regards

Taffy
