Hi guys!
This may be considered off topic. One of Swedens absolute most influential engine designers has left us. Per Gillbrand was fx behind the early Volvo B18 engine and the turbo charger introduction in the Saab model range. He was a big enthusiast and built many working mini replicas of extraordinary engine designs. Take a look at this video, and although your swedish may be rusty (!), I think you will enjoy the craftmanship and engineering. R.I.P "Turbo-Pelle"!

How many times haven't your oil strainer looked like a wool sock or even an aggravated porcupine? After switching to Payback Super Comp 20W-50 (with excellent results in Timken test), there are NO more metal shavings on the strainer on my engine. This is after little less than 10 hours, with lots of dyno running with this RST* engine.

Today we milled holes in the crank webs for the tungsten-copper inserts. Some 20 years ago milling in hardened steel would have been unheard of...

No clutch slip problems with that oil? It appears to be a car oil not designed for wet clutches.

Remarkably not. I'm using an OEM clutch from 2003 (with those steel dowels) with OEM springs and last dyno result was 88 RWHP. I got the tip from a guy turbocharging a Honda XR600 with wet clutch and more power than I have...

Hi guys!
Besides my Husaberg Supermono, I'm currently planning/designing a café racer. It is severly off topic, but if anyone is interested, you can have a look at: http://pin.it/wPIeRbo

Berg engined Doc? Modern razor sharp bling machine or old school British style thumper?
RACER TV on YouTube for all the inspiration you could want!

Berg engined Doc? Modern razor sharp bling machine or old school British style thumper?
RACER TV on YouTube for all the inspiration you could want!
The key goals with this project are:
-minimalistic (naked, air cooled carburetted thumper Engine)
-modern roadholding (chassie geometry and front end from a KTM RC 390)
-mix of really modern sport bike, and classic café racer features (fx MotoGP-style brushed alu fuel tank with a leather strap holding it in place, or USD-fork with radial mounted single caliper and shiny mudguards with thin steel tubes holding it)
-carry the value of the effort building it (engine from the Swedish manufacture "Hedlund". Design from the 60:ies, this engine was put together 2011 by Nils Hedlund himself and has not been started yet. Costed like a Greek national debt)

Thanks for asking!

Bloody hell, nothing by halves!
Put this project in a new thread? I think many would like to follow progress.

if the Internet topic-police ask, I'm sure we can give a convincing line of reasoning that Hedlund is on topic for Husaberg!

Is that a new way to heat your shop.
Oh, it does many things!
-heat the shop
-powers my pencil sharpener
-educate my neighbours in engineering history
-alerts my neighbours if their windows are coming loose
-brings people together (fx neighbours come to tell me that their windows are coming loose)
-most important, makes me feel that everything else I do, actually makes sense.
