Just think you'll have more time play on a computer. Sorry happens to all of us. Not that I don't care I do but how's the bike? Get well really soon.

I'm leaving the hospital this morning for a 600km trip back home. Luckily a good friend of mine tagged along, so I have a driver. The bike didn't look so bad from the pictures (took the ambulance from the track so I had no time to inspect it). Just the normal scratches, foot pegs and grips. Light weight bikes doesn't get the worst beating.

Bad luck after all this work

Unfortunately you can't speed up the bones, I know how it is.

Whish you the fastest recovery !!

Inside the green circle is a healed collar bone fracture. Inside the red circle is not a healed collar bone fracture... The ribs are evidence of a long racing career.

It is good that you are a stubborn ******* because I really enjoy this thread and your youtubes!

A bit concerned about your "Team dual personalities"... But I guess that is what happens when one spend too much time alone. Maybe it is time to invest in a Wilson basketball (cast away reference..)? ;)

Heal up quickly Matts and get that bike sorted.......sounds like you're both as stubborn as each other.

Carl.

Thanks! I believe dead materials can't be as stubborn as living creatures!

Well... I have you guys cheering me up and giving tips! But if a basketball can be taught to contribute practically in the workshop, I just might give it a go!

All I can say is holly crap. Id say you like working on them as much as you do riding them. Thank God for you and people like You

Thank you for the kind words! One small correction though. I like riding more, which motivates all those workshop hours!

I've now got a vision of the Terminators red eye lighting up as he crawls from the wreckage........but now into the workshop to diagnose the fuel injection on his DRC680 ;)

The perfect scape goat, you can always blame Wilson when something is done wrong or forgotten.

Slowly coming together. Fabricated new footpeg and brake lever. Repaired front brake handle. Now the booooring plastics.

My hydraulic shop eventually had better quality oil hose and fittings for the Magura clutch.

The problems was random loss of power and random reboot of the Megasquirt system. My EFI wiz has found following root causes:
1. The lambda sensor (Innovate) was not setup correctly in the system. The logs would show more lean mixture (falsely high AFR), which fooled me to enrich the mapping.
2. The superfat fuel mixture (down to AFR 10-10,5) caused misfirering. Misfirering led to noice on the rpm-signal, with spikes up to 15-30000rpm.
3. Rpm-signal over 9200rpm causes cut-off on both ignition and fuel.
4. Noicy rpm signal, cause the system to reboot.

Now we are correcting the lambda sensor setup, mapping the bike at the dyno and programming a sw filter that ignores unreasonable high rpm values and rpm increments. We will also try to smoothen the power delivery at 0-15% throttle, which is crucial to good laptimes in rr.

Feels really good to find causes and remedies!

Today was spent with the bike on the dyno. After a lot of trouble shooting and adjusting, we managed to get a flawless operation, correct fuel map, decent register and soft delivery from zero throttle! By increasing the intake length 10mm we also found another 5hp. Together with the current "noice free" exhaust system the best run was 88 RWHP. Amusing!

Hi Dr C
How are you healing up? will you get to ride again this season ?

We are hoping. :)
