# 1 This Headlight is a plug and play ready High output 55 Watt HID combo based on the 2011 -2012 Husaberg motor cycle Headlight units.

#2 These are brand new KTM Headlight Lens installed in new Orange or White MC masks - straps included.

#3 These use Slim Ballast 55 Watt HID conversion with a 5000– 6000K H7 base bulb.

#4 The light focal pattern is best described as a very steep inverted “V”, on my bike I have the main focal spot adjusted to provide downrange lighting at 150 yards plus or minus - (These have the same elevation adjustment of the DOT units, just remember that headlight adjustment is also affected by bike suspension setup and SAG). The side light diffusers ( pictures # 5 & 6 ) that are integrated in to the lens provide a very sufficient wide beam spread for close trail work, yet with the optics of the lens, out riding the main focal point of the light is no longer a problem.

#5 I have been testing this setup on my bike for the last 6 months and it is very stable, it does not have the tendency of some other HID setups currently on the market of blinking out when one least expects it.

#6 These are wired up to provide a 5 watt Daytime running light when the low beam selection of the headlight switch. On Hi beam the 55 watt HID and the 5 watt bulb are illuminated. These are very bright - And are not street legal. These are unshielded 5000-6000K H7 HID bulbs, Highly focused for maximum down range illumination.

# 7 These require DC power. Some bikes require a DC conversion at a very minimum, & it is recommended that the KTM EXC 2 & 4 strokes 2008-2011 have a stator upgrade and DC conversion. (TrailTech Stator kits are available just send me a pm)

Brady, thanks for the complimentary post. I have been working on this one for awhile, testing SAE /DOT SPEC lens, 35 watt bulbs, compact ballast , not so compact ballast, and this is the brightest one of the single beam / headlight setups.
This off road lens pattern is really quite different than the OEM SAE- DOT Lens in how it distributes the light. I think the price point is competitive.
I have question for you, will the stock FX stator setup have the capacity to run this light?
I know your light draws 70 watts when both beams are on, so did you have modify your stator to handle the extra load?

I read some of the comments and the replies and had a few thoughts-

A 12V DC system is rated at an average of 12V DC through the entire cycle of electrical load – in respect to a motorcycles electrical system. Not the highest number observed in system use. A 12V DC system can often times fluctuate from 10V to 13.8V+- depending on rpm of engine, electrical load on system, the type of battery, and of course the state of charge of the battery.
One of the benefits of LED and HID lighting systems are their ability to cope with a wide range of voltage supplies (LED 7.2V -24V) (HID 9V DC-16V DC) and not yield unsatisfactory lighting quality in respect to moment by moment loads on a motorcycles electrical system. Not a real problem for the average trail rider yet those that may have a few high load accessories installed such as heated grips or heated vest, this can be a real benefit on the trail after the Sun goes down & the Temperatures drop.
In contrast an incandescent bulb will become dimmer as voltage decreases, and will as well burn out more quickly on the high side of the rated voltage.

In respect to my question about the FX models Stator output, thanks for the thoughtful answers.

The PMXTEC Upgrade is not street Legal as well. Any unshielded Halogen or HID bulb is not SAE / DOT approved for street use. That is not to say many do not run them on the street, just it is not technically legal to do so.

If this understanding of Highway safety regulations is incorrect I would be pleased to know that I have been misinformed.

By the way, my setup is legal for Daytime use when used in the Low beam setting as the daytime running light is functional.

I do not stock Black yet I can get them in a few days - depending on KTM’s / Husaberg’s back stock - it is been kind of awkward for the last few months ( for instance they have been out of White headlight masks for a few weeks ). Black would be the same cost.

You need to change the front fender out to a 2011 style front fender, and then it would work fine. You may want to verify that the headlight plug is a small square 4 pin interlock that is stacked 2 X 2. Here is a picture that has the proper connector shown it.
