No worries at all. Actually if you haven't shipped it don't. Between the fender and incompatibility with the TT voyager protector I've sealed it back up in the box. Taking the lights off and when my registration is up next month I'm going to just tag it as an off road vehicle. I never even plugged it in to check out the laser beam.

My anal compulsive side took over and I just can't help myself. $83 but later (and that's on a cost+ basis for parts) I have a fender and graphics to use Paul's light. Heck even had to add spacers to the rear bolts of the fender so it would clear the BPD radiator guards. Not a thing has gone simple but oh well it's done now.

It looks good, and I like how you placed the GPS antenna along side the Lens. Almost like it was designed for it! Now we all know that it actually does fit with the Voyager & Aluminum Guard installed. You did good, and you can actually see the indicator lights . Now it time to go play. Be safe and have fun.

Paul, did you notice the last picture? You did a great job guessing were to put the ballast. Black Sharpies are one of my best friends, thanks for reminding me, I forgot

It hasn't gotten dark yet but one thing is for sure. Unlike the X2 this light comes on instantly. I am sure I will like it. Paul and I have built a trust and friendship. He would not have sold me this if he wasn't sure I'd be impressed. He actually wanted to build me a double ballast version to start with but we weren't sure about the packaging with the voyager protector. I'm pretty sure there's room.

Re: New 2011 & 2012 Husaberg Motorcycle 55 Watt HID Headligh

Ive been using the light now for some time. I love it. I do have a few issues though with it. The single balast on the left side has pushed my speedo lopsided, and the beam is pointing left which blinds onlooking traffic. The worst issue I had was riding in rain at night while standing up, I was blinded by the light.. it sticks out just enough to reflect the water on the light and my face shield, I had to actually ride the rest of the trail with my face shield flipped up and get wet. Other than these minor flaws, it is a perfect setup. I have gone back and forth between the trailtech hid and this one. Im glad I have both. I have different uses for each.

Re: New 2011 & 2012 Husaberg Motorcycle 55 Watt HID Headligh

you can put the ballast like he did mine. working around the voyager protector presented its problems but it appears to have eliminated one of yours. with my work schedule and son's activities on the weekend I still haven't been able to take the time to fire mine up and check it out.

May be a mute point now anyway. the field the "NFL stars" football league our son is in is also home to a quarter midget track. a couple of years ago he went to 2 of the days letting kids drive them and he did extremely good. seems the bug bit big time watching them before his game. He wants to go racing so the Berg will probably be going to support him.

Congrats Brady!!

A trip to boaters world and some plastic polish acetone, velcro tape and 2x sided tape fixed my issue.. I placed the balast just above the light on inside of mask. Perfect now the mask fits flush and the straps arent under too much tension!

Both setups look really nice.

Is there a blue fender that is still up for grabs?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: New 2011 & 2012 Husaberg Motorcycle 55 Watt HID Headligh

Any chance these will work on an '08?

I'm looking to upgrade my lighting situation... either wire in some LED's to my high beam, OR replace the stock* headlight with something like this HID. I'm not great with electrical stuff, so I'm looking for a fairly simple install, although it doesn't need to be plug 'n play.

*My headlight is not actually stock; the PO replaced it, but I don't know anything about it.

Re: New 2011 & 2012 Husaberg Motorcycle 55 Watt HID Headligh

Not knowing what has been done to your bike, this is what is needed for these to work :
1) DC power with at least 80 watt output.(100 watt for the dual ballast hi /lo beam setup).
2) Front Fender from 2011 Husaberg FS - USA or KTM Front Fender from 2008 - 2013 (EXC, XC, XC - W).
3) 4 pin square 2 x 2 clip connector for headlight connection.

If your bike does not have the aforementioned items I can help out with the needed parts,. You can always send me an email at [email protected] or call me @ 760 - 828 - 2625.
Thanks for your interest, Paul

Re: New 2011 & 2012 Husaberg Motorcycle 55 Watt HID Headligh

Well, I'd need a hi/lo setup, but I seriously doubt my stator generates 100W (I think it's 150W stock... not sure how much a rewind would help).

Thanks for the reply- I'll keep it in mind.
