Hey Guy's,

got a phone call from the lady at Louee Park asking what the hell was going on. She had a couple of blokes ring her about the Husaberg ride there in May & went into a headspin cause she didn't know anything about it :?: I thought I'd put up some details for anyone still looking at coming in May;

There is only campground accom left for thet weekend & the campgrounds are locked after dark so you cant get around. She ( Sue ) suggested that anyone else stay at the Lou pub as it's easier. Apparently...the blokes staying in the Shearers quarters can drive their car to the edge of the property & walk a short distance to the pub so you're not drink driving in town. Before you ask, yes you can walk back to your car & drive it back to the shearers quarters without any worries as it's all their property 8)

I dont have the phone number for the pub but if you PM Hamberger he can give you details, I believe.

As we are just going down for a look, I only booked a room in my name & I believe Steve has booked another & Cafey18 got the last room on a cancellation. Because I dont have everyones real names I had no idea who else had booked

Looks like dinner is at the pub on Saturday night !

Cheers,

Wal

Hi Wal,

When I originally booked 5/6 May and Easter 2008 it was a bit like "I get a phone call about this every week, I'll believ when I see it and just give me your CC in the mean time". Fine and all. A show of strength on 5/6 will get the point across for next year I reckon. All good.

See you all there
Steve

Hi Guys,
Yeh I think the lady at Louee is a bit of a panic merchant. I told her not to stress as people would just book rooms under their own name. She will still get her money. It will be all fine when we get there.
The Lue pub sounds like a great idea, looking forward to it.
What time did you guys think you would be arriving at Louee on Friday 4th?
Garry.

No worries Steve, we will be there well before that so will have a beer cold and waiting for you on arrival.
We had an awesome DSMRA ride yesterday at Mullion Creek State Forest near Orange, single track heaven. The Berg surprised the hell out of me at how nimble it is in the tight stuff. We met another Berg rider in the forest by himself and it turned out to be Husados from this site. Nice bloke, so he tagged along with us for a while. At one of the rest stops we soon learned that we both subscribe to this site. He promoted the May ride and the 2008 ride at Louee to me, but hey, I'm already going !!!! Hope he can make it as well. Small world we live in hey.
There was a grass flat track there as well, so a few of the boys had a ride on the Berg. One of them who rides a KTM525 said to me after he rode the Berg," I can see why you have a big smile at the moment" Damn good fun !!!!!
Cheers :D

I've booked 2 bunkhouses (4 beds in each) at the pub. Its pretty cheap $25 per person, bring sleeping bag. We have 1 spare bed in one of the bunkhouses if someone needs a place to crash. The pub had other accomodation when I rang last Saturday, its a bit more expensive but relatively cheap. Ring them at Lue Hotel (02) 6373 6436.

Cheers Carl

So am I right in thinking that we are going to end up with about 30 riders, 10 or 12 on Bergs for the weekend? Force Ride Zero I reckon. Pids and I will have 3 Bergs between us and I've also got a few extras turning up on non Bergs.

cafey18,
650s rule. Had a ride on Sunday to Bendethra and a few that weren't intimidated by the thought of a 650 couldn't get over how easy it is to ride, totally linear, predictable. And about 5km of dirt road back to the ute in the sweet spot in top gear at 110-120 km was probably my highlight of the day. Turn the throttle at 120 and light step the rear out, wonderful. best dirt bike I've ever ridden.

Steve

Sure looks that way Steve. Could end up with 50% bergs.
Sounds like we both had a great "On any Sunday" last weekend. Yes I am keen to give the 650 a bit of high speed dirt road slipen and sliden !!!!
Are you running the 15/45 sprocket combo?
Garry

Hi cafey18,

As discussed in my thread on my 650, 15/47 seems to suit me best

Steve

Sorry, I do remember that now !!! One should put the brain into gear before typing stupid questions hey.
Garry.

Here's my calculations for the May ride & please let me nkow if I've got it wrong or you have more people than what I have detailed below;

Wildman,ozrider,steve,pids,husados,cafey18+1,flatchat+1,hamberger+6 = 16 total

I'm going to send another email today asking for some stubbie holders & will post the outcome.

Cheers,

Wal

OK Wal here is the crew from this local area so far that will be coming over with local Husaberg dealer John Prior.
John+1, cafey18 +1, husados This group includes 4 Bergs.
John's bike will be a new Fe650e demo with lots of bling to check out.
Cheers
Garry.

18 in total going now.

some bad news though....no stubbie holders are available :( Just have to drink the beers even quicker :D

I might price getting some t shirts printed with a Husaberg logo on the front with " I survived the force ride of '07" or something on the back. Any interested parties just pm me with their size & I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,

Wal

Wal,

Looks like from down south its me & pids + another 2, one on my 98 Berg, and maybe still + another 3 who I can't get onto at the moment to confirm as they are O/S

Steve

Cafey18

We are heading up to Lue on Thurs 3rd May from Geelong. Can you recommend any riding in the surrounding regions (Sunny Corner, Lithgow etc) for the Friday? Help would be appreciated. We are all advanced riders and enjoy single trails with plenty of hills.

I went riding with faktor + 5 others last Friday in Murray Sunset NP near Mildura. Plenty of sand and high speed, great fun. His berg wasn't back from repairs and he had to ride a 520 KTM. I was the only berg rider that day. I'm going to organise a 2-day ride with him down the Otways (my backyard) in the coming months. If anyone is interested let me know.

Hamberger

G'Day Hamberger,
We are lucky to have many great riding areas around the Bathurst region. Sunny Corner is probably the best known public land for riding, however you do need a registered bike as it is all public roads in the forest. We do a lot of rides here with the DSMRA, so all registered bikes and insurance cover with DSMRA. You could spend days exploring Sunny Corner and not find all the single track and trails. There are some native timbered areas and lots of pines with varying fire trails, tracks and roads and some very big hills.
If not for work I would come out and lead you on a ride there. Bugger !!!!
Cheers
Garry.

Saturday night fever !!!

Heys guys,

only a couple of sleeps now. I wasn't sure what we were all going to do after the riding had finished as were spread out accomodation wise so I rang the pub & let them know to look out for heap of holigans shouting "Husaberg, Husaberg , Husaberg" in Norwegian accents on Saturday night !

Seriously though...I thought we'd have some sort of evening there & order dinner at the pub, behave moderately badly for discerning Husaberg riders & have some fun. Keeping in mind we all have to ride the next day..puking or not 8)

Wadya reckon ?

Wal

RE: Saturday night fever !!!

Wal

That sounds fine since we're all staying at the pub and only have to stagger to our rooms. There is only going to be 5 of us now (7 original).

Moose (the big bloke out of our group) has been sooking today about how far it is to Louee from Geelong (1000km). He is also been complaining that the riding won't be terribly challenging for him at the park. So I propose we find some expert hills on Saturday and give him heaps of **** if he can't get up them.

See ya on Friday

Carl

Sounds good, pub Friday and Sat. 7 hours for me and I'm in the same state!!

Steve

Lue Pub sounds good. Shame John and Aidan will be putting bikes together Friday night at Louee !!!Lol ha ha, Naaa they will have it all done in time for a few quiet (maybe not so quiet) beers.
I am feeling a bit guilty here as it will take us all of about 1.5 hours to get to Louee !!!!! Can't believe I haven't been there before.
Cheers
Garry.
