Force Ride 4

How about all of us getting together at Fritz's shop around 4 or 5 in the afternoon for a meet and greet? Last time it was great, had a few beers and got the low down on where we were going to be riding, and went had dinner together.

on wed, planning on arriving by 10am. i would like to do a little riding to 1-check my jetting and 2-maybe get a little ride in. might go where the husaberg test rides where at fr3. but still can meet at fritzs shop about 5pm. i'm on the cheap so if dinner is at an expensive place [unless you can do a dine & dash] i'll have to skip that part.

should be a ton of fun. i'm getting the film developed from fr3 so i should be able to post them before fr4...another deadline met....oh yeah.

We won't make Wednesday night but will be up for post ride meet-and-greet/beer-by-the-fire on Thursday.

Just talked to Harmels. For those of us who havent been there, they have free laundry (don't know how they will feel about riding gear though), WiFi in the game room only, pool table and bar, the hotub IS open but the pool is closed. She also said that basically only Verizon cell service sort of works there.

So pumped my cell phone will not work!! Work will not be able to get ahold of me!!! No WIFI even better!!!!! 48 hours from now I will be in the middle of Indiana headed west bound!! :bounce3:

That's not setting the bar very high. I think maybe you should run around the block once to get back in shape for the four days of riding.

Was all prepped and ready to go for the last Force 3 Ride and then wife had her arm badly broken just before the trip so needed to cancel.

This time? Went over to Blase, Eedahoe over Labor Day to visit my elderly mom. Hurried back because the wife had two big print/sign jobs waiting for her (she is the single owner/operator of small graphics and print shop). She called up her first customer. "Oh, we've been getting by on our old letterhead fine for now. Due to the economic times, we're going to hold off on redoing all our letterhead and business cards." Dang! Then she sent an email to her second big customer wanting her to re-do the businsess signs. Got a text back that the owner was closing her business in three weeks. WHT? Turns out she's following her husband to the Midwest as he chases work.

Man, I hate these sucky economic times. :cuss:
I'm still not working as I'm doing the "float" thing for a while longer as I figure out what I want to be when I grow up. (I was laid off from Intel after working my .... off for them for 24 years.) So the wife's income is very important to us right now.

Oh, we're getting by okay. But 4 days of driving, gas, all the motel costs, and such .... are just a bit too much to carry on spec. right now. So doing the smart thing and avoiding the extra costs right now. (FWIW, I have been buying Powerball tickets and hoping all week long. <g>)

Crap. Crapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrapcrap.

I was so looking forward to not only finally riding in Colorado, but finally getting to meet and ride with Daleo, Mr. Smooth, Fritz, and on and on.

I repeat: well, crap. (Insert big sigh here.)

sorry for the bad news.
i know what you mean about the economy stuff.
i figured a few ways to make some spare coin...
like when cypher spilts the room cost, he doesnt see the bill so he doesnt know for sure and he wont read this till he's back in what ever foreign country he's from.
another is some tss...trial side sabatoge...screw up someones bike while they take a picture or pee and then just happen to have the tools and parts...at a ridiculous cost of course
also dont underestimate a good wet sneeze....see a plate of food you like, sniff some black powder and ... well its yours now
someone needs a ride to the ridesite...load the bike and then have your mates all 'pay' and the fellow you are 'helping out' doesnt want to look bad so....cash in hand.
i learned this one from 'others' on fr1....dont buy beer just keep on bumming and bumming
you can try living on the free chili for 3 days like brandon does put that painful.

also, have you looked into getting a rich girlfriend? i wont really be a gfriend but a second job...you will be seen as a saint and a scholar.

there's always next time.... but thats not true. there might not be a next time, or a next day. most peoples retirement palns have 1 error in common...they all have the planner there in the future. thats not how it always works. and i've been to the future and it got a lot of different people.

so dont feel badly, if you were dead you wouldnt have this situation. dont over stress. remember...tomorrow will be worse.
