FWIW...Gunnison is a couple hundred miles further for a lot of us that went to Moab from the western U.S. , but if you draw a circle of approximately one thousand miles around Gunnison it takes in everything from San Diego(976); Los Angeles (900); Sacramento, CA (1055); Great Falls, MT (917); Fargo, ND (1107); St.Louis, MO (1032); Little Rock,AR (1036); Houston, TX (1062). That may make the '09 Force Ride more attractive to riders from the Midwest and East. Its still a long haul, but Colorado is awesome.

With Fuel at $4.49 Gal who is pisking me up? Whats it gonna cost in 1 year?

Pisking is that some kind of new wierd sexual thing you and Bendberg are into ?

Hey sue me for not using spell-check like the rest of you!!! And another thing my new Ford runs on fuel, (Diesel), not Petrol, This has nothing to do with Force Ride 3, get back on task!!

I would pisk JWilly in a heart beat ! That is one hot sexy Berg rider and those leopard print bikini briefs Owwwwwwwwww !!!!!!

so J is that

IMHO Gunnison is much more attractive than MOAB. Nothing beats the western slope in summer period.

well with bill (bendberg) moving this past weekend i;d say he has enough on his plate right now! at the same time stoveguy (ron) was doing a recce around silverton (co) and a report has been due for some time. the saving grace is that even if it goes ahead there, the best timme of year will be september.

so, we await thee ron!

Since this thread has taken a nose dive and left for dead, I thought that I would see if we could revive it and put some life back into it.

With the recent rise in fuel prices and all that it affects, does Force Ride 3 look like a possibility?

That $300 gas bill from Force Ride 2 now turns into a $500 bill. Not sure about you guys but my rate of pay hasn't gone up like the fuel prices have. So any location decided upon will have to be a serious commitment.

I like the idea of going to and riding in Colorado. Due to the fact the Oregon/China Hat area does not seem to offer up convient accommodations like Moab. I have been looking around the Gunnison area on the web for camp grounds and found one just outside of town that looks real nice and accommodating. This is where Fritz could be a big help as he works/lives in the area. Feedback on the trails/riding areas from a local person would priceless.

Stoveguy lives in Colorado and may be able to offer a location or two in his neck of the woods to look at as well.

If our once every two year big event can't take place as in the past, maybe there could be a few local events instead, with pictures and reports posted on the Husaberg.org web site to share with the masses.

Anyone?

I am up for Colorado, late summer, early fall (August/early September) of 2009.

stoveguy was looking up an area named silverton.

i hope folk will still say yes and car share now. we are paying £6 per gallon here and thats $11. i think if we asked people to go 250 miles it would be ok. one days driving and in comfprt. we'd then be running 4 bikes in a merc 507 etc and all the gear on top.

i guess yopu lads could squeeze up but in what?

lets keep this thing going and announce a place, then who wnats to go comes second.

Taffy

Ok, Ok, Ok, I am going to Silverton on Monday. I will take some pictures in and around town and get some prices for accomodations. Hopefully with a little luck I can get the pictures out of my computer and on the web site. No trail pics just taking my 10 year old up that way fishing for his birthday. I must say it has been a beautiful summer so far not too dry, afternoon thunderstorms just about every day, and WHOA NELLIE ! there was a big lightning show last night !

with gas prices the way they are, I might have to ride my motorcycle over there. I received 72mpg on a ride I did last Sunday

Stoveguy,
Check out the Wildwood Resort in Gunnison online. See if there is any place like it in Silverton. http://www.coloradodirectory.com/wildwoodmotel/

I e-mailed them and they responded that they could handle a large group like we had in Moab.

Looks like a nice place that would suffer greatly after one of bobzilla's chili dinners.
