I just installed the HD Bright HID bulb for the KTM and HUSABERG. What a bright light, and so far, no melted reflector or other problems. Cost $80 shipped to my door, and it took an hour to install in the factory headlight lens. So far, no problems at all and only a 35 watt draw on the electrical system.

Sorry, I've been out of town and off the net. The model I purchased was listed as the 6000K output. There is also a 5000K output. The difference is in the color of the light. The 6000K is a more blue light and the 5000K is more white or yellow. I'm very happy with the blue light, it is quite crisp and clear. Sorry, I can't give you the part # right now, but I'll try to look it up and post it for everyone who is intersteed.

I also looked at the other link here, the PMTEX light. That light doesn't have high and low beam capability if I remember correctly. The only issue I had with mounting was that the light ignites when you turn on the ignition switch, but will shut off when the voltage drops as you hit the electric starter. The light doesn't re-ignite after that. My simple solution was to install a toggle switch on the High Beam wire and mount the toggle in the mask directly in front of the rubber mounting strap (maybe a little lower on that strap mount). This allows me to turn headlamp off on High Beam, and by leaving the selector on the bar in the High Beam position when I start the bike, the light stays off until either I turn on the toggle or I activate the Low Beam. I find that most of the time, during the daylight when I'm riding in town, I just use the Low Beam and leave the toggle in the off position. I hope that makes sense.

When the toggle switch is in the on position, the High and Low Beam work like normal from the factory bar switch. I just use this method to ignite the HID light after starting the bike.

I have used 2 different HID setups one is a 55 watt that I got on here and its great, but the bulb or something blew after a few hours.. other one is trailtech hid which is by far best for trails, but ugly and heavy.. the PMTEX is by far the best setup ive seen so far.. its bright halogen very focussed and easy and can be used with stock lense

I tried the Trail Tech unit. I was disappointed with the wiring issues and interference with the factory loom. I ended up sending it back because it did not fit period. Also, the high/low beam was important to me, this HD Bright unit has all of that covered and actually fits on the bike. I did a complete post of my experiences with the Trail Tech unit on here, it was not a good experience for me with the FE570S.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fit to the Aussie spec bike, it seems the indicators don't seem to feature in the instruction manual. There is a bracket from the mudguard that the indicators are mounted on, this seems to a pint of difference?

If you're talking about the trail tech x2, the brace has to go and indicators either relocated on fabricated brackets or replaced with smaller aftermarket units like I did on a friends bike. There is a fender for the 2012 IIRC that fits well it's on a thread around here somewhere. FWIW I made up some little ally risers for the speedo to clear the back of the headlight and rerouted the wiring slightly for a nice fit.

Just for the record folks, after two months with this setup on my bike, I absolutely love it. I can still see after dark, and the light works perfectly without a lot of hassle installing it. BTW, the factory reflector is still not deformed by heat, and I have even left the headlamp on accidently while sitting still for 5-10 minutes by accident.

So far, this has been the best purchase yet as to aftermarket lighting.

My headlight main bulb just died and I do'nt want to buy a new one because I want MORE light so where do I buy this kit you have for 80$???
Do they ship to europe?
I ride in the dark quite often and the stock lights are just dangerous even if they work 100% it's just not enough visibility for cars etc on the road they just do'nt see me coming :?

I listed the company on here. It is HD Bright. The supplier I ordered from was in Canada, and he had no difficulty shipping to the US, Europe would probab ly be the same. I love this li ght. I hope you are able to get one for your bike.

The only difference between these two kits seems to be the wattage. With the higher wattage, I might be a little more concerned about my bike's plastic headlamp lens.

I would go for safe option 35w 6000k but do'n know wich bulb type is neede for husaberg... someone on smj even put 55w in his ktm headlight and no problems with heat...

I'm also in the process of upgrading the OE headlight to HID (just waiting for delivery). Didn't order the same specific kit but a similar one from Ebay. HID bulbs are many times more efficient than filament bulbs be they halogen or not. This means far more of the consumed power is turned into light rather than heat so a 35w HID will run MUCH cooler than a 55/60w halogen filament bulb while producing several times more light output. The plasma-arc light source actually burns hotter than a filament bulb but much less of the heat is radiated. The brightest or 'whitest' HID temps are in the 4-5000k range. Higher than this and the visible light output starts to tail off, replaced by a colour tint.

I have asked someone who will order the kit for me
Does it come with install instructions if not any advice? :)
I'm curious of how much light this kit will offer compared to very poor stock lights 8)
