Really?!?

So the measurements are good? And you have access to a lathe and a piece of Alu in such short time? I envy you....

Hi

makazila and luky, very interesting could you ask access to the sandbox to tourist and add your pictures to it with some explanation.

If you don't want I can do it for you but I would like for you to participate

This is good stuff for the docs

Zaga, what's sandbox? My guess it's the picture gallery...?

I would like to contribute but I suggest that luky adds the measurements to his CAD (?) drawing and posts it because my pic with measurements sucks - more or less. Maybe he can even post a CAD file?

Cheers!

M.

Hi
The sandbox is a place were you can add info, to be sent later to the new docs.
Please read the post about that and you will understand.
Cheers

Luky, this is excellent!!
Do you mind if I post it in the sandbox? Of course with your credentials.

As this project of mine comes to an end I have a couple more questions....

Suspension....race sag @ 33 mm as I read somewhere or something else?

I intend to keep this bike....do we have a source for non oem conrods or is the oem the only 100% secure option?
What about balancer bearings, Taffy?

Thanks!

Nice one.
Maybe I can convert the last drawing into a DXF file, so a laser cutter can handle it.

Pffff...very cool.

Where were you all while I was drawing this **** on a piece of paper.....

:D

nice Drawings luky

M et al ...

FWIW I made one of these bearing tools years ago and thought that if I did it again I would make a small lipped flange on it to get started between the inner race and the crank .. maybe a small extra part from steel

there is a small radius on the inner race where the lip could go.

Orangeberg mentioned he can get rods for the 450 not sure of the details

balancer bearings are easy to make, even easier to throw the whole balancer in the bin :D

your bike is looking very good! ride soon?

cheers

I do a con rod that replaces the OEM but is 1mm shorter. I have to get the pins shortened and capped in the centre but it is less than half the price of OEM. PM me if interested. they are 160gbp. I've sold about 30-40 kits now.

balancer bearings: prices have had to go up considerably as they have shot up as priced to me for the work to be done I'm afraid. the bloke that did them had 6 grinding mills going at once and did them cash in hand. then he closed shop and I go to someone who does one bearing at a time and through the books....

as for the race sag well I didn't think that that was 'race sag'? I operate differently to most. I simply get the correct race sag and then measure the compressed spring length. anyway, 33mm sounds spot on!

Ihope this is of some help...

regards

Taffy

Thanks Taffy, at this moment I'm not interested in a conrod kit/balancer bearings as the bike is freshly rebuilt. I'm asking in the context of keeping this bike for a long/longer time.

I know that suspension setting differs from person to person and to riding conditions. What I want to do is to get a good starting position and then change it according to my preferences.

@ bushie.....thanks, your advice is always valuable
