The large Husaberg tank has been a paper tiger on here for many years. With all too many false starts, Rick was the only one who took it upon himself to see that the thing finally made it to production. Hell, I'd willingly pay $400 for the very same tank - no question.
Every tank manufacturer was so dismissive when approaced with the idea of building something for a Husaberg... I imagine it took some serious salesmanship to get Clarke to agree to build it.
The good folks down at Clarke are probably sick of Ricks face by now... :wink:

I would not have known without seeing jcoless427's post.
It is true that the tank's I have will be selling for 200.00 not 240.00.
I don't have all right's to this tank I just did all the leg work & now
control all inventory for some time.

I'm not sure but I bet the tanks you have seen advertised at Clark and the tanks at this website www.justgastanks.com are for a universal gas tank not on specifically for a Husaberg.

Take a look, it's the same picture as the Clarke brochure. Talked to them today, they should have stock in April.

I checked that website they do claim it to be avail. April 2007, now how many months was BOSS delayed by Clarke in getting the first tanks ???? I would venture a guess that they will be released to "other" dealer sometime this summer. Now I'm all for supporting your local dealer, however I don't beleive I've seen other dealers on this site giving out free advice and help outside of BOSS, Motoxotica, Gunnison Motorsports maybe one or two others. Face it Rick is going to have control of all of Clarke's inventory of these tanks until he recoups his INVESTMENT. He is an independant business man to not have himself covered in this manner would be just stupid. When the tanks are finally released to other dealers I would bet you'll see a price closer to $200.00 but hey at that price I'm sure Rick will get his loot back soon.

Hopefully BOSS has made an agreement with Clark that protects his exclusive rights for a time period that will enable nim to recoup his investment and produce a reasonabe return.
The most likely "fly in the ointment" will be an announcement of another tank maker ie. IMS or Acerbis also stepping up to the plate to gain what they see as "their" market share.....such is business..

I have a question. Does Rick have a financial stake in these tanks? Some big numbers have been thrown around. It seems if Rick truly paid to have the molds built he would have proprietary rites. It also seems alittle suspect that a price of $240.00 is thrown around and "get your order in early I'm the only one you can buy this tank from" only to find when pushed, that I looked at my invoice wrong and they are available to any clarke dealer for 20% less. I'm all for supporting Rick for the effort but I don't care for the used car sales tactics.

To Rick's defense it could have been an oversight and I bet this tank was not he only thing he has going on business-wise with invoices, etc... Can't really blame him for trying to make some money or it'd be Bozarth's Offroad Charitable Specialties. :confused2:
I think he should leave his post intact. He's a new member, and that's his very first post on this board. He hasn't completed a profile or provided any other insight about who he is, etc. That post is the best way we have to judge him.DaleEO said:

These tanks are available from Clarke and their dealers (not just the BOSS)
FACT, the dealer cost from Clarke is $145.00
FACT, the MFG. list price is $195.00 including shipping.
FACT, "$240.00 PLUS shipping" is not a $20.00 difference.
If you want to spend the $240.00 plus shipping thats fine but I thought MAYBE somebody would benefit from what I found out from the new Clarke catalog. Clarke is the CO. building these tanks not the BOSS.
For the record I was never trying to be a jerk. But when one of the other members (JCOLESS) questioned the price compared to his local dealer I checked mine and found his numbers correct. Just wanted to let the HUSABERG brothers know the tank is available from other sources for significantly less money with shipping factored in. Buy it where you want I could care less. I'm done.
