Hi DrC

I have bent small dia tube by filling them with lead , and melting it out after.

Yes I agree there is a gap in the market for a lightweight single cylinder road racer, I chose the FS because it
was as close as I could get, but must admit it feels ungainly to me on road, but lots of fun anyway :D

Cheers spanner
Taking into account the northern latitude I'm at, bending tubes with frozen water inside seems more handy than melting led! :D

Tubes with frozen water inside? That's an Icelandic firecracker!

looking good Mats

did you collect the all swarf for safekeeping in a jam jar under the bed ?

Ive been trying to do large "pockets" by just doing a profile cut so I get to keep more solid alloy in my biscuit tin

Thanks Damon!
Yes I collected all the swarf and put it under my pillow for the CNC Fairy. Bigger chunks are less comfy. I have still not woke up with a beer under my pillow. I guess it is more likely that the Fairy (read: wife) puts a lit firecracker there instead...

very nice Dr_C!

I made a small version of a mandrel bender for 1" cromoly tubing and to mount it I welded it to the front of my tractor

it almost worked but the pulley i used to make the bend was an old cast iron unit so it cracked after 1 bend :D

Yes. Outstanding work! I'm looking at doing 4 bends in total, so there is limit in how much effort can go into toolmaking! ;-)

Work of art, looks like it grew like that!

Good to see you got some heat around the weld area.

Thanks guys! Today I fitted the rear wheel and swing arm to the bike. Kind of a mile stone! ☺

Looking very Good Dr_C

interesting contraption on the breather . is it for brewing tea during a race ?
Thanks, Bushie!
I have one breather in the OEM position and a larger one connected through the hole for the starter motor. Together they look more like something that might produce really bad quality moonshine. :p

Also thank you for trying to get the thread moved! I'm putting in every available hour into the frame building at the moment, so I have not made any efforts in this direction myself. Thanks, again!

Today I got the seats for the steering bearings machined. The goal is to complete the steel frame structure this weekend to get it powder coated next week! Finger crossed!

I think I can do with hops for just about everything right now! I'm struggling to complete all brackets before the steel structure is off to get powder coated tomorrow!

Looks odd without the front end of the frame. Maybe this is the quickest way to check the valve clearance?
