Isn't it just as good to take the whole Ducati engine then, and chop off the standing cylinder?
My good friend Allan Östli Jorgensen from Denmark, rides such a bike. The standing cylinder has been replaced with a counter weight, just like on the original Ducati Supermono. A real work of art!

Re: Sv: Billet cylinder head

Now the frame model is complete enough to perform a stiffnes analyze on. Exiting!

that is awesome.. . .... wasn't it a little bit heavy ?

I think a 1 piece billet crank would be a nice improvement to the berg engine... split big end size limits the stroke though not sure what bore size you would need to have prolly 108....

maybe the pin and drive side machined from one piece and a one peice rod with plain big end could work

or a bigger crank drive gear would move the transmission shaft away from the crank and give us more room.. new cases.. heat up the Parkinson forge!

interesting FEA... the ones that take 12 hours to solve are the funniest

I think their bike weighs in on close to 135-140kg, which is a little to heavy in my book. But it is very tidy and high quality work! One guy in charge of machining/fabricating engine parts, one guy for mechanics, one guy for electronics, one guy for suspension and so on... Just like my "team", it's just that it's one and the same guy! :D

Nah. There is a limit for what the Husaberg stock concept can be developed to. I will probably develop Parkinson before heating it up!

on performance engines, I only goes with carrillo rods
-very good
-custom option
I am a distributor of the brand if you need;)

Hi contiman

I just had a Carrillo made 136.5mm long vs 136 husaberg so as to get the JBS 103.65 piston up to the deck level.
Carrillo big end 283grms + 47 grms Carrillo has a insert. :( Rather it did not, next time...
Husaberg big end 236grms
Carrillo small end 127grms -7 grms
Husaberg small end 134grms
I think If I remove the rough forging marks from the flywheels on the big end side + a bit I should be close to the orignal balance.

Rod beam is 1.5mm thicker will still clear flywheels.

Very nice video Dr_C

the frame aligning jig looks very useful

love the bit at the end .... I think I spent about 50% of the time making my frame just sitting there looking at it.. .wondering what to do next

Does not like you will be racing in 2014 either
I can talk
Must be nice to have such a workshop 8O
I have to make do with what I can get done in my 1/2 hour lunch breaks
Are those MX Composite guys living near by?? 8) I have some ideas
Keep up the good work

Cheers spanner

Well, I wouldn't even have considered this hobby if I didn't have access to a workshop. MX-Composite resides some 360km north of where I live.

I have appr 4 months to the first practise, so it's just a matter of rolling up the sleeves!

I have zero knowledge of frame building, but just love looking at your work 8) 8)

Keep on posting pics

Then we are very much alike! I haven't either any knowledge of frame building (up to now) and I also love looking at my work! :D
