Looks like factory WP suspension, or at least Ti-Nitride coating on the forks.

Jocke is using the 52mm forks (leased from WP). 2008 is going to be a long year waiting for my new bike!!!!!

I see spiky things on those tires...

I asked Roland about the forks at the WEC and he told me that WP will sell Joe Blow a set of those 52mm forks for the low, low price of $10K US. 8O

The intake sound (roar) is still there btw... (maby a tad lower but still there) you should hear it run...man, when Joakim came across a deep water crossing over a bog...that roar was awesome! WOT and Joakims special riding style (back on the bike and one foot of the peg) 8O jeez!!

ok , this bike is awesome ... i mean this particular bike . if the forks alone are worth big bucks
imagine what else it is running .

apart from the suspension i wouldn't be surprised if it was rather standard other than a few tweeks and an exhaust. top line suspension has been amongst the most expensive parts of motorcycles for years.
at one time works showa suspension was almost unobtainable unless you rode for hrc and left a relative as a deposit

with the trick forks...is it the lightness and smoothness of them? or is it something else.

I overheard someone saying the fork is 6 lbs lighter. But the big benefit is in their performance. Butter smooth, and incredible high speed dampening.

6lbs lighter !!

Sounds like 'HRC Showa type' unobtanium to me.....

the win on the bmw and the win on the husaberg are really not that big a deal as those riders would place well anyway. a back to back comparo with the 08 berg and 09 on the same track is required and somehow take the placebo effect out. I am sure that such a comparison would have been done??

The big thing is that Jocke, on the 2009 HBG, beat 7 times WEC winner Anders Eriksson, on the new BMW G450X with some 6 minutes :D
