where's the 2009 Hbg?

Celly76 said:
On the german husaberg homepage they showed a picture of a husaberg and wrote that this should be a prototype of the upcoming generation presented on eicma in italy on november. But it was clear that the photo sowed a toy. A joke i guess. So today i called Husaberg and they didn´t told me if there is a new motorcycle to see on eicma in november but they also didn´t say no. So we´ll have to wait and see what husaberg will present to the world in november.

That was cute. Let's hope it is big, this is a hype action indicating that the secrecy is for something big!

just found out what the 09s will be about

RE: Re: just found out what the 09s will be about

Does any one have any idea or slight guess when they might release the information for the 09's? Maybe......

RE: Re: just found out what the 09s will be about

a lot sooner than we think!!!!

RE: Re: just found out what the 09s will be about

I have heard that the current chassis will be used at the ISDE and then Bjorrne and Joakim will start training on the new bike for the 08 WEC season.

That being said, we arent going to see any production models until the fall of 08...

RE: Re: just found out what the 09s will be about

You can see a announcement on the german Husaberg-homepage:

"Neuer Prototyp gesichtet
Wer es nicht erwarten kann das neue Husaberg Modell zu bestaunen (EICMA MILANO im November) ..."

That means: The new prototype will be introduced at the EICMA/Milano/Italy/November 6-11.
so you have to be patient for only 5 weeks.

well ... i hope someone from husaberg has taken a mental note of the size of the '' main bearing " thread . i hope husaberg has RESOLVED the issues that have caused people like faktor and others too get no sleep at night .

the 09 model is on my shopping list

@DS

That´s the announcement i allready mentioned. Regards from Germany.

But as i said before. Husaberg is not going to give any informations about the new bike. Yesterday i spoke to Jörg Steenbock from Husaberg and they are not even quite sure to fabricate a 650 in the future and that´s my worst fear. But it is not sure that Husaberg will publish the complete new bike at Milano. In the end we will have to wait and see. I´m pretty excited. If there wont be a new 650 i will have to spend a lot of time in the future with me present berg.

I have heard a really big secret. IT´S STILL 2007!!!

But in 2032 there WILL NOT BE A CARB on the bikes. That´s a promise.
And maybe it will have a environment friendly solar cell panel with 2 Watt output. Buy one NOW and enjoy while you can.
Don´t whine about that you can´t buy or see the -09 models yet.
Oh yes i know that i will take some sh-- for this. But stop and think.

Best regards my friends.

good point and though of it myself. there was so much talk about '09 i started to think it we were already in '08

True! BUT, if I were to buy a bike today, it would be a Yamaha, and I would rather not do that. The KTM rear suspension is still to far behind in my mind, and it "should" be better than the Husaberg now. SO, I am either going to wait, or pick up a cheap 07' Yamaha in the spring.

A Yamaha???? Really???? You know, I have yet to have one complaint (other than the water pump seal thats fixable) about the approximately 30 Husabergs we've sold since we've opened in 2005 (knocking on wood right now). Based on how many Yamahas we get here with Connecting Rods welded to the crank shafts (2003s, a 2005 and even a 2007) within the last 6 months, I would always bet on our Bergs...of course, I do have a biased opinion, but I used to own a WR Yamie, and since becoming a Berg Dealer and riding our Demo models, I know I would never go back. In fact, the many converts we get, whether they are switching from KTM, Yamaha or even Honda, they all love the Bergs and are still amazed at how well they run, how tractable they are, and how stable they are, how well they track, not to mention they are light, flickable and fast....alright, I'm starting to sound like a salesman here, but YAMAHA??? REALLY?

It seems many people are upset that the Bergs did not receive alot of Tech Changes for 2008...For the money, you still get a bike that has amazing components (Akra pipe even), a work of art really, and PROVEN performance...there are a couple of bad bikes apparently that have reached some people in OZ, however, thats a couple of people that visit this site...I know that the majority of my Berg customers do not visit this site (something about they like to ride in their free time or something). I for one am excited about the 08s. In fact, we get a demo 450 soon....yee haw

Kurt,
I was thinking the same thing. Sure everyone is waiting on a new design for the 'Berg, but how you extrapolate buying a left-over Yamaha out of that deal is a bit strange.

Sorry, I didn't mean to start a "this bike is better" thing.

I know, I feel bad even saying it.

Here is how I see it. I can only spend so much on a bike. The more I have to tweak it, the harder a sell it is to my wife (the one how really does make the money (I am a stay at home dad)).

My 06' KTM 400 has modified suspension and still deflects off of off-camber roots in the wet (rear end).

I rode an 08' KTM, WAY better than my 06' suspension wise. night and day really.

I rode an 07' Husaberg, Much better than my 06' but I would not stretch to say it is better than the 08' KTM. Very fun bike, I'll admit.

I rode an 07' YZ250F with a flywheel weight, other than that it was stock. It was quite a bit better than all of the above, STOCK! No deflection front or rear, it was as light as a mountain bike. And this was with the preload cranked up a bit to make my 200lbs work.

NOW! I can get a new 07 YZ250 for $4000. A new KTM is going to be around $7500. And, Well, where will the HB sit in this? I doubt it will be $7500.

There is no reason for me to go with a 08' YZF because they have not changed much.

I know MANY people that have MANY hours on YZF's without any problems (the other 250 F's don't count).

All of these rides where me trying to catch some of my A/AA rider friends (at least they wait for me when the trail splits).

I don't mind when the rear deflects off of stuff, but it sure is nice when it doesn't.

So when it really comes down to it, this is how I came up with this "strange" notion.

I could go into it more, but that about sums it up.

I am TRULY hoping the 09's are REALLY good! Otherwise, my money is best put elsewhere.

Yikes, a Yamaha 250F at that. I can't think of a less fun ride, really, well all the far east 250 four bangers would be the same.

To my Husaberg brethren, lead me out back and shoot me if I ever talk about having to ride a jap 250 four stroke. Spread my ashes in Moab or wherever else the Force Ride happens to be.

You are hitting upon one of Hbg's weeknesses here. They do not have a 250f on the market (yes I like Jap 250f's and the KTM 250f). Horsepower / torque do bad things to handling, and all Hbgs are strong motors. That being said, I do agree that Hbg (and KTM) have rear suspension performance improvements to be made (recall that PDS was engineered by Ohlins and KTM, once it was developed KTM went to WP shock and cannot use the Ohlins patents that make it work properly, but that is a whole new thread!).

With KTM USA marketing the bikes again with a new vigor, I suspect the 2008 models will sell fast giving impetus to bring hte 2009 to market sooner rather than later.

I don't expect people to understand. It was just an explanation of where I am coming from.

I know, A 250....... It was really fun, I don't ride anything but woods, tight woods, so power just makes me tired.

I know the 450 would be a really nice ride though........

Maybe I'll just stick with what I have. Easier than making a decision. :D

Oh, believe me, I hear your argument...I think it boils down to personal preferences...and just for the record, the Husaberg PDS (in my Amatuer opinion) works much better than KTMs, however, that is my Amatuer status opinion...some A or AA riders would likely disagree with me. I feel the PDS in conjunction with the Chrome Moly one piece chasis makes a huge difference over KTM's subframed/off-angle shocked chassis.

I wish Berg would have a 250...maybe in the future, the 380 sure is fun though.
