Welcome fellow Bergers and others.
After all the votes and opinions were considered the location and dates for the 2008 Aus Force Ride are now confirmed and are as follows:

Venue: Black Gold Cabins Wallerawang NSW Australia. http://blackgoldcabins.com.au/

Date: Friday 23rd May 2008, Saturday 24th May 2008 and Sunday 25th May 2008.

YOU MUST BOOK YOUR OWN ACCOMMODATION !!!!!!!!!

Click on the link and book your accommodation ASAP. First in first served. The owner of the accommodation, Rob, is a fellow rider and will hold tentative bookings up until one month before the event. If you haven't paid by then he will let some one else have your room.
We intend to stay at the cabins Friday and Saturday nights. Rob will cater meals for us at a very reasonable price for Friday evening, Saturday breakfast, Saturday evening and Sunday breakfast. Prices will be posted on this thread when firm numbers are available.
All other meals can be had in your rooms or down the street at the take away or pub.

We will have two great nights in the mess hall after our meals with helmet cam footage of each days riding (and falling) being played on the big screen. A compilation of all days riding and footage from the night activities will be available after the event after editing. I will start a specific thread after the event for all to leave their order for a copy.
Lots of drinks and laughs will be had by all. Prizes and give aways are planned and I have a feeling this will be "THE EVENT" of 2008.

Don't worry about the riding, Steve and I can guarantee it will be some of the best riding you have ever done. Arrive by Friday lunch time for an afternoon ride to get the mood going. Depending on numbers we may break into several groups, and may have easier riding for one group and harder riding for another group. A group discussion on Friday evening will determine how we run the rest of the weekend rides.

So get your act together, fill out your diary, get approval from your better half and book your accommodation, and finally tell us your coming by posting it here.

Cheers :D

sounds great!
will unregistered bikes be allowed (fc501) or is this event only for registered bikes?

Hi samberg,
All Husabergs are welcome but technically you require a registered bike and riders licence as all the riding is on public land and roads. However apparently unregistered bikes have been seen riding at this location and just happened to get mixed in with registered and licenced riders somehow !!!!!!
Everyone rides at their own risk as this is not a sanctioned ride by any recognised affiliated club or organisation. We are just a group of riders going for a ride and if you or anyone just happens to be there at the same time then that's your business. It's up to the individual to choose to obey the law or not.
Cheers :D

Garry,

Is rec rego available in NSW? it may be something that the FC riders can pursue to be legal, the last thing we as an organisation need is to be labled as louts who tare up the bush on their motocrossers, anti motorbike mentality is a difficult thing to overcome, so it should be in our best interest to show how we can abide by the law.

Azza.

Hi Azza,

The only rec rego available in NSW is for Stockton Beach. So there are no options but to have full rego on your bike around here unfortunatly.

Garry.

Thanks cafey18 for getting this sorted.

Remember too that we will have one of Australias premier suspension tuners available on the Friday to strip and tune your suspension, MeDogRocket, cafey18 and myself have all had our bikes done by him and we recommend his skills. It will be first come, first served, and we'll post more details later about how it works, but for budgetting, expect about $300 for a revalve, reoil and regas of both ends with any parts like seals and springs being extra. Its then dialled in as you ride, just like a works rider.

Like cafey18 says, its now up tio you to do what you have to do to be there.

See you then
Steve

PS Re rego, this poll http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?name= ... pic&t=6745 has 100% with rego, so guys, you had your chance.

My vague understanding is that if you have rec rego from another State then thst will be OK in NSW. You could also go to Louee which is an hour up the road, so it can be done.

Lets get behind it and make it happen.

thankyou,
i will definetly be there i will sort the rego thing somehow, the oppertunity to go riding with other berg riders seems too good to pass up!
see you there!!!

REGO

Hello all
On the rego topic, NSW has a unregistered vehicle permit, this enables the user to use the vehicle for certain period. I used this a few years ago to ride in the Sunny Corner Rally, the catch is the vehicle must pass a NSW Pink slip (roadworthy certificate) I also know of one guy that has used this to ride his CR250 in the Sunny Corner rally also. When I used it, it cost $30 and the pink slip was $20 and my unregistered vehicle permit ran for 7 days, I do not know if this permit is still available.

see ya

RE: REGO

Thanks for that Tim,
There you go samberg, maybe you can put some lights on the fc501 and organise a permit. Check with the RTA in NSW on what is required.

restrictions for unlicensed bikes

Azza has a valid point about rego & doing the right thing. We all know there will always be unregistered bikes out there it's just we cant be seen to be supporting them.

I would suggest that any further discussion about rego requirements be done via PM & not in the open forum as not to incriminate anyone connected with this fine establishmment or the Force ride for 2008.

yes i have been investigating this and it seems the right way to go, my bike allready has lights and a pink slip won't be a problem as i work in the industry.
I will be going to the rta next week to get the ball rolling so i will keep you posted as to how i go (for others in the same situation)
cheers *****.

G'Day Coastie,
Did you read my first post in this thread ? It's got all the info there.
Yes Louee has been ditched.
Cheers :D

are there any central or north queenslanders out there thinking about going on the 2008 force ride (23-25 may) at wallerawang nsw? Im planning on going and want to know if anyone wants to team up and split travel costs etc.

I'm pretty sure Wildman and Ozrider are in Queensland not sure exactly sure seography is not my strong point. (sorry Wal can't remember where you live)

Wildman is in Happy Rock and I am in Gympie. I plan on going this time after having to cancel this year at the last minute

Hey Bushberger,

as Ozrider said, I'm in Gladstone & will be going next year. Where are you in CQ ? Best thing would be to go through the posts about this ride & get onto the accomodation. It's a very popular spot & you want to book it early to avoid disappointment.

cheers,

Wal

PS: it's OK you forgot where I lived Pids, I'll let you buy me an ale when we get there !

It's sitting at the freight yard in Brissy as I type. 14hr round trip from here. You going to be bringing your old girl ( husaberg I meant ) to next years force ride ?
