2008 AUS FORCE RIDE FINAL LOCATION AND DATE

Looks pretty damn good timmy, cant believe how high the bracken is there!

I will have the helmet camera also, can do about 3 - 4.5 hours of vid per day max, but need to stop to reload every 1 to 1.5 hrs.

will be good reviewing some of this in the evenings.

Azza.

The dinosaurs have not had a chance to eat that bracken yet, most of the trails are not over grown like that one. I am sure people will appreciate a stop every hour or so, we rode most of the day yesterday 80% single track and covered about 60k's Mal5.1 was stuffed

What sort of distances are we loking at to cover each day Tim?

I was sort of anticipating up to 150 - 200kms per day with a fuel stop in the middle? but some of that terrain gives me a new definition of tight singletrail.

still cant get over that bracken...

Azza.

Have organized a lawn mower for the day Azza, the bracken wont be a problem
We are leaving the riding a bit open at this stage due to not knowing peoples riding abilities, we can basically cater for any level but depending on the numbers that come will depend on how many groups we have, we have decided to have a morning loop and afternoon loop each day so a 100km fuel range should be plenty and a total distance each day will probably only get up around 150km's
Believe me, there are much much better single track in our area but I would be killed by the guy's who cut it in, if I took a large group through them so sorry to anyone coming hoping to get to ride some secret tracks, the tracks we will be riding are commonly used by those that ride the area.
Mary come alone and you will see, these tracks are not at Sunny Corner.

Some more footage to get you inspired

Looks like some very nice riding!!
Do we have any idea how many bergs we are going to have? Is Orangeberg and his crew coming along again? hopefully my bike won't end up in Orange again!!
Getting keen now hopefully bike will be registered by Friday
Regards Pids

Good boy Tim. Big Brothers are watching. Seriously guys, Tim will give you a great ride. He knows a lot of tracks in our area. Just remember, us locals rely on your good nature not to destroy the place - even the "known" tracks. If you get stuck, turn around and have another shot, dont sit with the back wheel furrowing. A lot of areas are only accessible by one track, so look after them.

And please don't do what others have done in the last couple of years. That is, publish GPS tracks on the internet. It ends up causing a lot of headaches and safety drama's. Don't put Tim in the unenviable position of having to explain to the angry mob.

I dont think it will be possible for me to ride at the weekend. Tims taken all the available leave on shift, so I'm stuck at work until Sat. morning, and then family commitments. But never say never. Even if I dont end up meeting you all, make sure you have an awesome weekend. And make sure Tim and co. are thanked accordingly. I have seen the effort he has put in, as well as the Annual leave he has taken to lead the rides. Good work.

I will ensure the ride gets appropriate exposure on www.eatmydirt.com.au. At four million hits a month it is Australia's premier dirt bike news website. Just give Tim copies of your photos and I will whip something up.

Regards,
Ozberg

Timmy, nice camera work, It'd be cool if you know a few spots where there is 'something special' like an erosion ski jump or something so that we can stop and get a bit of trailside footage, too much helmet cam can be a bit hard to watch.

cant wait... you must know your way 'round those areas?

Checked the trailer, it's pretty crap.. oh well!

Azza.

Hi there Mary, see you are a newb on here? where are you from, whats your game and what r you on?

Azza.

Azza there are plenty of photo opportunities :director: , so hopefully we will get some great shots.

Thanks ozberg for the great write up, I know you blokes will be watching and as you all carry axes 8O when you ride I promise we will behave.
I thought being a shift manager  you would have grabbed the annual leave first, I know you will make sure you don't miss out on the Apex rally and the like
See you at work tomorrow BOSS!! be kind :moon:

Yes well done Tim, nice camera work. I don't think anyone will leave this ride wanting ! I will call Rob tomorrow and check on numbers booked in. It's looking like a good crew with a fair few day riders probably on Saturday from the guys I have talked to.
Cheers :D

Have a read of this thread at DBW before the weekend http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/show ... hp?t=44709 . Not a good situation, and one of the reasons I like single track (intense and no need for high speed). I ride with blokes that far exceed my ability, but they understand and expect that I will slow things down a little, and more importantly would prefer to wait on the track for a minute than keep me company in casualty.Have a safe ride fella's.

Yep, heres to a safe one!

Well it is time, 5am tommorrow the epic journey begins! Cant believe it!

this is gunna be the first time away from my boy Austin, and I havent been away from my wife and daughter like this before, it will be a pretty intense thing driving off tommorrow, loneley and in the dark.

But I am full of anticipation as well, I cant wait to meet some of you guys, take a good 'spur of the moment' road trip with my good buddy Kyma, and do some exotic riding.

See you all soon, over and out.

Azza. :D :D :D

Azza,

One of my personal philosophies, and understood by my wife, is that to function as a husband and father you need to be sane, whatever that means. For me that from time to time involves going away for a ride as it keeps me sane. From a female perspective, if the the leash is too tight it'll break eventually, if its a bit loose, it won't. How loose.............

See ya there
Steve

Well guys bike is all registered now so i am right to go. Pity i still have a day and a half at work.
Regards Pids

Hi Folks,
Well it's almost on us. Some are on their way and will be there tomorrow.
We will have to cater for ourselves now on Sat night and Sunday breakfast as Rob can't do it. Tim and I thought Pizza and Beer sounds pretty good for Sat night while we watch some of the days riding on a screen and have the lucky door give aways. I'm sure we will work it out and still have a great time.
Can't wait to get on the bike !
Cheers :D
Garry

See you all there around lunchtime Friday.
I've rounded up 5 of us now. We'll be good for the Friday arvo ride.
We're staying at the Pub since we didn't like the idea of sharing double beds - not that thre's anything wrong with that ![-X

Just need to make something clear, Rob at Black and Gold Cabins was always happy to cater dinner and breakfast for us, but he needed this to be confirmed which it was not. So it is now to late and as of today we only had 12 confirmed bookings anyway.

Gotta be more than 12. He told me there were only 2 motel rooms left for Sat night.

Coastie,
I'd say tim has his head on a pillow somewhere after riding with the Force ride today. He said to me yesterday that Rob at Black and Gold has other bookings as well. The Power Station where Tim and I work has an outage at present. Maybe thats it.
Regards,
Ozberg
