Ken, I think spark arrestors will be required if you plan on the pima/dynamite to Bartlett area as it is on Tonto National forrest. To those from out of town, don't expect trees in the "forrest" , but it is a good example of Sonaran desert with small desert trees and bushes, and some cacti as well.
At this time I have a spare bike that is up for grabs. Still would like to sell the FX470 but chances are I will still have it. If anyone is intersted this would be a good "try before you buy". Of couse the standard "you break it, you fix it" would apply if someone wants to borrow it.
If no takers I will ride the Berg and park my yz250f as the Husaberg is superior anywhere but the MX track.

At this point I'm going to throw my hat in the maybe ring. I usually go to the Supercross closest to my birthday @ Anaheim as the first is my birthday, so I might just give myself this trip for a present.
If you guys ride at Bartlett or Upper Sycamore Creek, then you'll need a permit, but I guess we can get away with the group ride thing.
Rangers here are few and I have actually not met one in over 50 rides at Sycamore.
Upper Sycamore Creek is where the best trails are, somewhat technical but no "you die if you miss the turn" stuff, and lots of fun (mix of sand wash, jeep, single, hard pack and service roads) and quite a vista too.
I am already looking for the best trails and will come with a track log.

Hey Bob,
We have plenty of options for lodging. Everything from staying on my sofa and camping in my back yard to motels to a KOA very similar to the setup at Moab.
As soon as I can get some firm committments from people we can move forward.
I can put up some guys and Nic said he may be able to put some guys up. We just need to get a better idea of the group size and there expectations for lodging.
I have been researching a couple of different scenario's.
I am open to any suggestions. I would like to start firming this up by the end of the month.

I will be leaving the sand box in Dec now and I figure after two months of living in a house I will be ready for a tent again so I plan on bringing the camping gear. I'm not picky on living arrangements so I can work all that out when I get there.

Is there a good RV park(s) close by to the National and Husaberg enthusiast ride area's?

My KTM shod buddy ( it's okay, he used to ride a Husaberg) is thinking of coming along and I would like to be able to give him the info on this ride.

3) The different ride areas are spread out, I do not know if there is really a central location for camping. The KOA campground that I mentioned is actually listed as 28 miles from Phoenix. Icing on the cake would be if B-Ziddy would let me try out the 5Fiddy ! :lol:

I called the Wickenburg race b/c the last write up I read on it called it that, and on my trips to New Mexico I have seen the Wickenburg turn off from the 10.

The KOA is north up by Black Canyon City. In the next week I will check for availability up there. I will also check for some places closer. On my first search the KOA seemed to have the most bang for the buck, it's location is just a little inconvienient.
People have camped out at the "national" before. The camping is primative. This years "national" has been moved 8 miles west of the previouse spot. The old staging area has at least just had rest rooms installed. I had initially planned on spending a day at each location. If you are going to camp I will have to get you hooked up with the $15 "state trust land permit ". I will probably get a bunch of applications this next week for thoses interested.

Looks like I'll be sleeping in Surprize but I can also camp out if neccessary. (Hate to miss fire-ring action if ya know what I'm talk'in bout ). Is after-ride beer allowed?
I'll be driving the F-150 with shell/canopy towing the 501 with trailor. It fits three bikes comfortably so I would be more than happy hauling a couple extra bikes to staging areas for anyone who doesn't want to move their RV.
