OK Brian....what have you been up to and why wont YOU be riding your Berg???
Inquiring minds want to know!! Catch us up to speed please.

I won't hijack your thread, but I've been riding near Bryce Canyon (2800 miles of legal fun twisting trails for your riding pleasure, Utah, Prescott, Lake Havasu City, Coconino Nat Forest; in Benson, Az; for now, this week...

Lost your number, I would have called you, we were camping at the mile markers (the local name for the National Enduro area (for you out of staters)) a couple weeks ago. We'll be there again in 2 weeks....

Got a new ride a few weeks ago. the 501 finally (after 250 hours) needs rocker brgs. So I decided to buy a new bike so I wouldn't have to wait a few weeks to ride.

Rode with a few guys in Prescott.... fast guys, AA enduro riders, great trails, even had some fallen trees to wheelie over, yee ha!
One guy has a '03 501, fe450, fe550, fe650,
all new this past year ( and I thought I had a problem, at least I wait for something to break as an excuse to buy another bike). He bought them because they are all different.

Hello everyone!!!!

So, I mentioned way earlier in this post that I would like to attend. In case you didn't read my "life-story" post, I am living in Europe now. I will be back in the states for a wedding that is on Feb. 11th. This, combined with the 38 days of vacation per year I have to burn while working here, makes it quite condusive for me to join ya'll in 'Zona.

The first hurdle I must clear is:

Does anyone have a bike I can use???

You break it you bought it policy for parts is mandatory, of course.

If someone can commit to this, I will buy my plane tickets.

Beggers can't be choosers, but I'd prefer not to have to pull over every mile and pump up tires or tighten seat mounts, if you get my drift.

Please let me know.

Thanks,

-Parsko

PS- And who's this guy [marq=down] [/marq]that's keeps spyin on me over this line???

Done Deal.

You can ride one of mine.
Most likely, my '03 FE501e

My berg is for sale, so availability is uncertain. If I still have it someone can ride it.

Still? The curse of the 'berg

Would there be any interest in a track day at one of the local MX tracks?
never been on an m/x track, but I would be interested in doing a track day and getting laughed at by the spectators 8O

Wow, I'm shocked that you guys keep offering me a bike to ride. I guess I would have to choose the newest one, huh? Yet another reason this site kicks so much tail.

My dates are starting to get more distict. I plan on going skiing the weekend before being in Phoenix. I need to be careful, that week and a half is going to beat the crap out of my body.

So, I'll be going from Vermont to Arizona in one week, that kicks ***. BTW, what kind of outside termperatures are we talking about? I have no clue what the desert of Arizona is like in February. Riding gear and ski gear, customs is going to wonder.

More news to come...

PS- Europe. No problem showing boobs in the 10 o'clock hour the night before Sinta Klaus (Christmas is celebrated on December 5th here, and it's called Sinta Klaus, with presents given to children on the morning of the 6th. They also celebrate the traditional Christmas with us, but it is mostly for adults) Weird place!!!

Brian, I would venture to say you have a bad case of Gas....Gas

By the way, I have a new set of rockers I could let go for a reasonable price.

Well, another oen bit the dust... :(

Ken, you did not tell me for the rockers... How much? Are they Dale's work?

Hey Brian,
Long time since we heard from you. Welcome back.

p.s. For what its worth I'll have two bikes with me too. Neither are as new as Brian's, but they run well and anyone that needs one is welcome to use the 501 or the 600 (both '98's).
Like Bobzilla I believe in spares. Unlike Bobzilla my spare is not a Suzuki.

I figured that you would get it right away.

I'll take those rockers... can you ride this weekend?

It looks like we will be in town (either milemarkers or Bartlett; aka wildcat)

But, a '98 Dezduster ride is probably better looking and in better shape than any new '06 bike. I thought berger was sick, but your bikes were incredible; they look like trailer queens.

Le Frog, I still have my 501, so I haven't 'bit the dust' as you say.

There are advantages to each brand. I think the Gas Gas FSE450 with fuel injection and Ohlins suspension, offers an advantage/ improvement over my 501. Although, my 501 would deffinately be my hands down choice for 70 mph in the sand washes. I do feel as comfortable over 50 in the sand on the Gas Gas, but it may just be that I haven't adjusted to the bike.

Probably in the 60's

Could be as warm as 75
Could be as cool as 50

You must have a water pack to ride.

Cool weather, but dry.

Yo Berger,
Got your PM thanks, and BERGDADDY is going to see if he can leave the shop for a couple of days to come along. We both can only ride Friday and Saturday. Is the race on Sunday the 5th?

Hey Mike,
Yes, the race is on the 5th. Tell Tim to get his butt over here!! He needs to visit the site more often as well....he's been slacking :D

INDEED Berger INDEED, Tim is now a full-fledged KT#$@!%&$ dealer guess that takes up his time. The race he put on last month was awesome. Perhaps with some prodding from you he will make the trip.

CHEERS MATE

What is this I hear about something cancelled?? Is this true??

Will this change my flight booking???

Am I going to have to get the ol' 91 out of storage, put it back together, and hand out a large 24oz can o' whoop ***???

Please advise?!?

Everything is a go as far as I know...and I AM THE GUY THAT KNOWS!!
Unless I am dead or in a coma this ride will happen, and then there is still a reasonable possiblity it would happen
The question is wether the National has been cancelled on Feb. 5th. I am going to an ATR meeting tonight and will post my findings. Another club has a National the weekend after, that may or may not have something toi do with it. 2 Nationals in 2 weeks is tuff.

Indeed, the event was cancelled. I just got confirmation.

http://www.southwestdirtrider.com/cgi/y ... 1134071531

So no race, just 4 days of trail riding...

Guys, to lighten things up, I have an offer to make: I have a nice size backyard (Splat will confirm) and I thought we could have a barbecue the last evening, before everybody splits.

It is big enough to not bother any neighbor and to park all the trucks and trailers.

Yes indeed the National has been canceled. The National was to be the icing on the cake so to speak. Being that most of us didn't really need those calories anyways, it shouldn't be a problem. I had hoped it would have lured a few more guys down that like to race....oh well.
The main idea was to give the cold weather guys a chance to have some good riding in the middle of winter. All it means now is that we will have some truly awesome trails mostly to ourselves
On the bright side, it means an extra day of riding for those who are up for it.

That is too bad about the National. I will still be there, I promise. I might fly out a day early instead though, for instance, on Sunday. This will give me an extra day to see family and friends.

LeFrog, sounds like a good idea to me, as long as you don't feed me any Frogs legs.... :y: :u: :c: :k:
