Hello

I haven't a husaberg bike but i'm using wp extreme 5060 for a fork swap to a dr 650. So i hope to find some good tips from u.

I have the official technical wp 5060 manual.

My problem is i can't separate the inner from the outer tube.

I heated the outer with a torch (exactly where the manual say to heat). The first time a little bit, the second much more and the tirdh time much much much more but nothing.

If i grasp the outer tube with the hands and the inner in the vice and pull i lift the bench.... but nothing happen to te fork.

I tried to use the outer tube like a sliding hammer.... (only in gentle way not hard) but nothing happened.

Any tips???

Thanks in advance for any help

There is a metal ring that needs to be removed just before the seal I believe. My fork is a different model but assume that they are similar. If you have already removed it then you probably need to give it more of a whack than you have been.

yes i removed that metal ring.

and.... that bench is about 180 lb!!

i will inform about the future try, for now i don't have time....

in the meaning i soak it with wd40.

Hi

I don't have any other technic to help you, usually it works fine with the heat.

If you are desperate you can try to cut the seal with a bit of patience. It will, at least, make it weaker. It's better than heating the tubes too far and causing major problems.

After all that banging your support washer of the seal will be a little bent, so you must make it flat gain.

Good luck

Should separate, so I'm no more help there I'm afraid. But I have fitted some WP4860s to my DR650. Great upgrade, but don't forget trail and ride height issues.

A bit of fiddling with steering head bearings. I posted up about it over on ADV:

OK found it.

if there are no circlips or locknuts left holding you up take the springs out

fill the entire fork with used oil (no air) close it up and compress it in a press or with a ratchet strap, block and tackle, under a car or between a car and a tree or even a horse

its messy but usually everything come out including the bushes which are holding you up.

also ask on KTMtalk because im not familiar with these forks .. there may be some other trick.
