It must be hard for you to buy things from classified adds. "Hi there, I work on an off shore oil rig. I'm really interested in your Husaberg but I cant come to look at it. Can I send you a western Union money transfer and get my friend to pick it up".

I'm surprised you don't have a jet ski parked by that rig.

Wrenching and running the shop during the day, but seriously thinking of asking Taffy if he will mentor me in the fine art of carburation and selling jetting on Forums?

"Fella its the jets, your running rich! Go to my store"

Guys I think I will be great, do I have the technique down?

Im a sparky at a spark factory.

FE350. Epic fail fella...... nowhere near enough abuse included.

I manage materials quality at a diamond factory. Mostly we make diamond inserts for oil and gas drilling, some diamond pad bearings, and assorted other smaller ventures. It's just not too bad.

Good thread!

I've been retired almost 6 years. My retirement plan was/is more riding which has been happening. Moreso on my DR and S10 that Bergs though.

Last job was Dam Safety Analyst where I morphed my civil engineerring, surveying and IT backgound into extracting data and morphing it into information. Which then leads to knowledge, followed hopefully by understanding, then followed by, for a special few, wisdom.

data - information - knowledge - understanding - wisdom

One of my jobs was training up the data collection guys and attempting to get them to understand things like the difference between null and zero, and that if the data they collected was flawed, everything that followed was also flawed.

Challenges and mental stimulation almost every day back then. Still occupied with volunteer work and adventure riding, and the odd bit of contract work. Not too many/any around with my skillset.

I teach 4th grade here in Southwestern Colorado. Been doing it for the past 15 years. Pretty good gig- I get lots of vacation time and summers off.

Prior to that I worked as a white water river guide for about 16 years in the spring/summer, and worked in ski shops in the winter. I guided in Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, California, Utah and in the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

Aside from loving dirt bike riding on my newly aquired 2011 390, my wife and I do a lot of mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and lift-served skiing.

When spring time comes I can be found running class 4-5 white water with my cataraft- or kayaking on our local rivers.

I build stuff........
