I've driven all over the US and the worst traffic jams I've been in have always been around Seattle. So 202 miles must translate to about 8 hours sitting in traffic.:D

Director of Contracts and Compliance for a defense contractor that designs and manufactures instrumentation and controls that run the nuclear reactors on subs and aircraft carriers

Me and my brother own a collision repair facility (body shop). My wife is the office manager and book keeper. We are working owners and mostly write estimates and keep the production going. The bulk of our work is insurance referral so we don't do many paint jobs or restoration type of work.

Due to the nature of the business it is very difficult to take time off. 3 day weekends out in the desert riding Husabergs is great therapy as I deal with stressed out vehicle owners who need their car back yesterday every day.

To bad we some of us didn't live closer together we could barter a deal ...oh and go riding :spin:

What ? Sooks ! Love the look of the short bonnet day cab western star. Reckon they look tuff. I worked in tassie for a bit up at Zeehan out near Trial harbour. There are some truly awesome roads on the west coast for a berg blast. The Queenstown to Strahan run and up over cradle mountain from Rosebury rocks !

It takes 30 mins to get out of the city, then 1 1/2 hours to get up and over the pass to home. Yes it sucks, but, literally can ride the best single track Washington has to offer right from my garage. As well as snowmobiles and my wife can ride her horses.

Snowmobiles, got to be the second best to enduro, such great fun to ride.
If you have the chance to try DO IT! :)

I'am a still masters hand at a small locale distillery in Ontario Canada love it there wish I could be in the back woods more. I don't have any pic of my house but I live on a 10 acre heart nut farm.

Fun and interesting read!
I take care of people who take care of technical equipments. It reads "Maintenance Manager" on my business card. Thats my education and has been my field of work since day 1 in 1990. I have worked with nuclear power, valves and actuators, test equipment for optical media, natural and biogas facilities. My current department is responsible for maintenance of all equipment (fork lifts, container trucks, terminal tractors, cranes, transformers, PLC, lighting, ramps, buoys etc) in the ports of Malmö (Sweden) and Copenhagen (Denmark).

Trying to do things with my hands, is however my therapy! Being in a hurry around race tracks, is my poison!

Fun reading everyones stories!

Mine might be slightly duller than the rest but I'm only 20 so I've got a couple of years left!
Right now I'm doing alot of different things but all of them revolves around farm and forestkeeping, and when I'm off my primary work I usually do some welding (Mostly TIG and MMA).

Here's a fueltank I made some year ago ( I wasnt even done with school back then so pardon my welds :) )

It might seem like I have no real job but its just an inbetween year since I'll countinue my education this fall!

I skipped school a lot so I could ride my dirt bike. When I was at school, usually three days a week, I sat at the back of the class and drew pictures. I once got a standing ovation for turning up to school on a Monday. Apparently I was going to amount to nothing. Yep, I was the school slacker. I left school at 15.

Forty years later, I employ 12 people, I work three days a week drawing pictures, the rest of the time is for family and bikes.

Do you still get a standing ovation for turning up on a monday morning?

Sorry mate wasn't calling you a sook ! Meant that I'd rather the western star over the body truck and dog. But that's cool how you can turn some dollars from what we all do as a pastime.

Retired, at 51 years old, own a scrap tire collection and hauling business, the business still runs and I just over see the day to day operations. Ride my bikes and build hot rod big block Chevy's cranking out 500 plus hp.
