Saving up to get a 'Berg. Really hope to make it happen within a year ... I'm looking to get an '07 or '08 and I think I want a 550 rather than a 450 or 650. The local market is small and mostly made up of nutcases so the 650 is surprisingly common I might not find a 550 but a 650 might be available ...
Can a 650 be converted to a 550 reasonably easily? Say by changing the crank/rod only, keeping piston / head / cam drive etc. as-is?
I prefer the feel of the 550 motor although I can't explain why. Just feels exactly right. (Coupled with abject terror during the first ride, of course.)
