just to let y'all know, pay-pal have got another scam going.

apparently everyone is going to have their money held back for 21 days so that the (your) incoming funds 'clear'.

I thought black was black and white was white? the money either moves or it doesn't? I deal with several east european people and their money, tis true, is often "unconfirmed" but why all this for regular punters?

If you agree - let them know!

I thought that uncleared or unconfirmed meant the buyer never had the funds in his/her PayPal account when they purchased the item. I think the buyer links their PayPal account to a Visa or Mastercard and have to wait for some clearing process to happen between their Credit Card and PayPal. I have seen this before when people brought something off me on Ebay awhile ago.

what I meant was unconfirmed is clear enough but confirmed should mean just that and that money should be the new owner's to put in their bank account there and then as it is at present.

from now on you can't even touch the bgood guys money for 21 days.

pay-pal is just such a rip-off. like e-bay...

I really wish they had real competitors. all this 'community' crap....

I have had no problems so far apart from the poor exchange rate between currencies, another nice little earner for Paymore. Ebay got a mention in a previous post, I understand they are operated by the same group. A theme emerging

If such a change were introduced, the financial benefit for Paymore would be huge, consider their turnover and the earnings holding that amount of cash, for that period, could generate.

Simple answer, don't use Paymore, these people are impervious to irate letters 8) .

Taffy hope you sent my gear lever i brought off you on ebay last week (grexy69) as i used paypal????

after the irate letter I had a call from them. he says that it is only for ebay to pay-pal transactions now?

he said that they were only going to release the money after I'd had an approval rating (forgotten the term right now)

I said, when someone receives a part they often like to see if it fits first but typically might take a week or two to fit it and only then would they leave an approval rating. not good enough sorry!

what about doing something for the dealers? trade accounts?

just to let you boys know, my bookkeeper has a really tough time every month sorting pay-pal out. and she costs me money!

all parts sold in the EU (european union - a kind of corrupt agreement in which all the stand up northern tribesmen get ripped off by the greasy *** medi types who don't want to pay taxes) must have VAT on them, outside the EU: it can be removed but tons of forms must be filled in to 'export the goods'. afterwards postage (with no VAT) must be added.

I've asked for a simple flagging system to say that that customer is inside the EU or out and also the figures should be before postage and with the VAT as a seperate item.

finally, If I buy a starter motor for 48 quid and I buy it off a company that is VAT registered, I can claim the VAT back. that is 8 quid - a lot of money! (the sums are 40 + VAT at 20% = 48) but I have to ask every single company that I buy them off after I've bought it: "are you VAT registered?". they then want to know; "who is asking?" cos they think I'm with the IRS!

I then explain why and occasionally I get a proper invoice and get the VAT back. all I want is for any registered business user on there to have their VAT status on the screen. simples!

sorry if I got technical but these people really only looking after themselves.

Taffy

Is it just for registered business users then? Its a pain in the *** Ebay, its all about protectin the buyer but as a seller your screwed, and dont seem to have any rights.

The thing that pees me off more is someone is gettin paid lots of cash to think up these ideas. Its ok for big businesses, they can stand it, but its always the small businesses that lose out and struggle.

Its exactly the same with government, they do **** all to promote small business, they seem to think of obstacles to get over instead of making it simpler.

Im having a Sunday rant cos the weather is cack!
