JBSracing Husaberg 750cc Bore/Stroker kit released.

Hi Ken

Things are going very well with the kit.

I now have a European dealer www.bsusidecars.com you have to go to Parts – JBSracing Husaberg Kit – to find the page. His site includes prices on the kit and spares, I am looking to sell through dealers if I can to keep my time free for development. Anyone interested in being the US dealer for JBSracing kits?

I have some top Sidecar teams (world title contenders and past title winners) testing the kit right now. As soon as I can release more on this I will, for now I have to be discrete.

We have had one small problem, the head gasket leaked on a few engines. However we found the problem, when I had the head packers and liners machined I asked for the liner to be made 0.004â€Â

how much wood...

Hi Ben,

Are you able to tell us what it takes to become a dealer, or is this information in flux? I thought it might help a prospective dealer decide if he knew what it took to buy in, whether he's got to be an established bike dealer, minimum sales or stocking requirement, etc.

thanks,

Schwim - A good idea!

I am willing to talk to anyone about becoming a dealer who can show that they have a chance of selling the kit, preferably by being an established Husaberg dealer. I asked dealers in europe to buy 3 kits in a year in order to get dealer pricing, I am willing to sell kits one at a time at retail until 3 is reached and then reduce the price of the third kit to bring all 3 to dealer price. I am negotiable on the above if you can provide another good reason for selling to you, like you sponsor a national or world championship rider and are putting them on the kit or are compeating in an interesting (I get to decide what's interesting) event like the Dakar.

Ben

PS - Schwim is that as in Schwim wagon - german WW2 VW ampibious vehicle, my friend has just restored one to fully working condition. They are pretty cool.

Indeed sir. I worked on a few schwimmwagens, and built a 25 horse for one when I started getting into the net. I needed a nick, and went with schwimmwagen, which eventually got shortened. keystrokes equal calories ;)

Ben,
The other forum you mention wouldn't happen to be visordown would it? :)
I heard that you had your bike up at DCRs before I went on holiday and I tried everything to organise my workload so I could steal some time to get there(I only live 5 mins away ffs) but to no avail.
Anyways, back to the question..how did the bike perform at Anglesey?
Since I've been back I haven't spoken to anyone who went.

Gix

With regard to the other forums I can make no comment. Anyway visordown is that the site sometimes shortened to VD or does that stand for something else.

I did have an engine and the kit in bits at DCR, shame you missed it.

The bike never ran at Anglesea in the end due to the sealing problem that I mentioned, now we have found the cause in the packer and liner machining I hope DCR will run their JBS equipped bike soon at a SM race. The kit has been run hard in national Sidecar races in Europe now, and is race worthy. Dave and his mechanics seem to be snowed under with work on customers bikes, so they fiddle with the 750 when they can. They reported that their centrifugal clutch slipped a lot so they went back to a lever one in the engine which was OK and that they struggled to keep the front down on the bike before they had the small water loss problem.

I am going to try to get a customers bike gallery up and running on my website soon so check there for pictures. Ken AKA PowerCell on this fine site, has just purchased a JBSracing 750 kit so look out for photos of that in the Mexico Desert.

I don't mean go to Mexico and look in the desert for photos of course, just to clarify that.

Ben

PS - When you use to type Husaberg the site came up with the Husaberg logo, what happened to that? It was cool I thought.

With all due respect, and the greatest appreciation to Jason, I hated the Husaberg logo popping up all the time. Specially when Husaberg appeared several times in a paragragh.

I guess now I can change my signature back...

Ah, to be honest I didnt know Dave still has a kitted bike,I haven't been in since I came back. I will get in and see him and blag a ride myself, cheers

where'd it go?

Due to people feeling the same as Ken, I changed it, if you want it in your post:

Typing H-berg will net you H-berg

so everyone's happy, right? Right? :D

i'm very interested in this kit for my 06 fse and was just wanting an update, any info as in hours run etc would be much appreciated..

just got rid of my ktm540 after having to rebuild and replace mains after bugger all hours for the fourth time so not after a grenade, but this kit seems on first investigation to be far from that.

but 80 h.p just makes me smile every time i think about it :D

cheers

H-berg (just had to check)

I am Husabergs U.S. SM rider and I am always looking for more power. This 750 kit would be awesome in my bike. Do you have any U.S. riders using this kit or any U.S. Distributors?

Thanks,
Robert

Hello to every one.

It’s taken me a while to reply to this, we have been very busy indeed. I am working on a big update to the website www.jbsracing.co.uk right now. It will include a lot of info on what we have been up to with the 750cc kit.

We released the kit just over a year ago – it went well and we had 2 kits in our own test bikes + several running in Europe with in weeks. Our bikes are Sidecars see www.sidecarcross.com The kit generated a lot of interest in the Sidecar community so much so that 5 times world champion Krister Sergis tested the engine in Latvia in September. His initial impression was good with lap times less than his 700cc 2-stroke. But the con-rod which was an OEM Japanese con-rod snapped landing from a jump WOT. So we went to Arrow Precision ( www.arrowprecision.co.uk ) of MotoGP fame to design us an indestructible rod which they did. We also used the time waiting for the new rod to beef up the drive side bearing from 16mm width 44kN OEM Husaberg to 20mm width 55kN rating and up-rated the big-end pin along with the rod + numerous other smaller improvements.

These changes have necessitated an altered balance factor which we are optimising for various applications and chassis right now. All this has cost us in time and money but we now have an even better kit to move forwards with. My thanks go out to some of the members of the UHE for their eternal patience while we sorted this and their support, you know who you are.

Anyone interested in the details of the kit or any questions you might have please email me [email protected] – I currently have available a brand new 2006 engine direct from the factory it has run for less than 1 hour from new. It is a genuine 06 engine with the oil jet in the cases facing the base of the piston, and the 35mm pin bell crank – only introduced in 06 – has the original factory tag still attached. This is going complete for a very good price email me if interested.

Regards to every one on this excellent website.

Well Robert, seems as Ben has your engine and is ready to ship. If Ben Ballard built it you cannot go wrong.

Dale

BTW - didn't make this clear, above engine is a 650 model (628cc) 2006 as it stands. We bought it to run against the 2003 650's and the 750's that we run as a comparison and test 750cc kit fitting in an 06. We never really got all the testing done that we wanted which is why there is only an hour on it. It is now surplus to req'

I was unaware of these changes in the 2006 engine. Could you or perhaps Dale elaborate on these changes ? I checked the official website and it does not list these specific points for the 06 model.
Damn marketing boys :?
