Just went to a dealer,to get map reflashed ,which is now done, reason for flash,he claimed the standard maps have been modified to resolve the Hot-start problem or should i say the hot-start,not-start-problem.

With my bike when hot, it was definately on the button once, for 0.5 sec, to get a revolution of the pump,(a dale tip) then on the starter again and it would fire only 70% of the time .Without that routine hot-starting was a 4-5 button hit operation, with throttle rolling.

So don't know if the modified map is around the world yet, or if its bogus, but it might be worth checking......if youve got that problem. If you got the user tool you can modiify yourself.

Will post how cured the prob is when I get the chance to do more than load it on and off the truck.

I've asked my Dealer here in Aus to update my 390 the sames as yours. I'm having problems with hot start requiring several goes while rolling the throttle to get her going. He's adamant that there is only an update for the 450 & 570. :?:

My bike is a POS to try and sart after the first start. Is there a name for this flash husapye ? Was beginning to think that my injector would fail the pintle test. I already have the open loop competition map

Yeah, when mine was new it was hard to start but only sometimes. Always happened when it was hot. Then after the first service it seemed to start everytime. I think Suttos must have changed the MAP. I will try and find out what flash version is in mine next service and post it up.

In 20hours I have had 3 of those pops and stall scenarios too. There is a post on this forum about that too. Feels like an EFI issue to me but couldn't really be sure. Did some real hard riding on the weekend at Rydal and glad it didn't stall going up the knarly hills. Only fell off 3 times, was real proud of myself, the Berg is getting easier to ride all the time. I was goin so good, even me mate started calling me Malcolm Smith :D

I think if there is any confusion as to the mapping issues, a post should be raised in Dealer + Distributer Discussion and see what response comes through. There seems to be a learn-as-you-go approach to EFI issues by all including those with the OEM knowledge. My advice is persevere.
As posted I went to local dealer in CHCH (D+E ph # is under dealers on the official site CHCH NZ, if you want your dealer to ring ) in discussion over Akrapovic reflash ,which isn’t needed, he mentioned that the standard maps had had a correction that resolved the hot start problem. This is a standard reflash, with the standard maps.Just the latest version of them.
Hense the reflash . Is it out there? hell yes !! Does it work….one finger nail on the starter when the bikes a cooker….starts every time…when do you need it….stalled half way up steep hill section….that prob combined with the stiff clutch when new, is one that’ll have you dogging the bike to the bottom.
I would have thought the maps would have been modified across all models as it was a generic issue.
Beryls and Davo are you using injector cleaner ? I have researched a great injector cleaner and fuel conditioner…and guess what its Aussie!!! Well the distributer is any way, will post the brand name as it slips me right now. 15 mls added to the 8L tank everytime you fill, keep injectors clean. I dropped out spark plug to see if it was doing the job and she was clean as a whistle. Also fitted 70 degree pump filter (new filter mod) modification on the weekend. Once you do that, you realize how much fuel can go unfiltered, over the top of OEM part (filter)into the pump. Highly recommend it and the in tank filter, both from Dale, as I think the trouble free future of this bike is in keeping your EFI system as clean from contaminants and debris as possible. As part of instillation of filter, filtered fuel, and cleaned tank, there was quite a collection of foreign bodies collected from bottom of tank.

Copy that husapye, have got pump filter and tank pre filter waiting for me at home. Injector clean would be worth a lash too, I'll hit up my dealer for the update tomorrow. Pulled my pump out a while ago, saw the standard filter is also POFS

Hi Husapye, I am not using any injector cleaner. My 2010 model was built in 2009 so maybe it had old maps. I have never had to use any injector cleaner in my boat or cars so I am a little reluctant. I am guessing my injector is clean because the bike is so smooth and has amazing power. Think I will wait for Dales tank to arrive then at the same time as installation I will check out the fuel filter, have a squiz in the tank, check the spark plug and maybe even hook up my Autronic Air Flow Ratio Meter and try and look at that while I am riding.

for those that are inclined to a bit of a flush once in a while...

good investment the filters!

Dont hesitate Davo, the stock filter will vibrate clean off ! Talked to the the dealer mechanic today, he said he has seen at least 10 bikes with auto decomp issues affecting hot starting. Reckons 2010 models have a ADC mod that fixes said drama, also recommends adjusting exhaust clearances to tigh side of spec, not too sure about that. Also reckons that he places a shim in the system to fix. Might try it when I get home to verify it, thanks for the link bro.

Profill Fuel Filter got here in 4 days.
Looks smaller than I thought it was going to be:

Don't know if you guys have installed the filter yet, its a tight fit, there is a little spring steel lock washer that holds the OEM plastic part onto the bottom (before the filter) of the fuel pump, its stubborn to remove, but it can go back on and lock the new filter back on. Also pulling the pump out of the tank, the line in the tank can stick, and theres a bit to damage by pulling hard .You can free up the coiled fuel line by releasing the top part of the line 3 screws on the filter catch.

Did mine today fits nice, I like it. I measured the shims and clearances on the exhaust so the dealer can send me new ones, I measured .007" on the ADC side. The ADC weight and mechanism flaps around like a broken arm and I think its ready to break off 8O So the dealer is trying to get me a upgraded cam out if Husaberg as it is a known fault, we'll see how that goes.

Well, I took my 390 to my dealer for the hot start issue. He has replaced the torque limiter gear which he said was a modified part & known issue. Now I'm confused. I let the bike warm up till the fan came on turned it off & it restarted first go with slight throttle. Won't be able to test better for a week or so as work is pretty busy at this time of year.
Fingers crossed

I closed the exhaust clearances up to 0.12m and went for a spin. It starts easier when cold and hot starting is good but only if I restart it immediatley. If I leave it for a minte or two no amount of tricks or swearing will get it sarted straight up, I just have to keep cranking. All I got left is Cam upgrade, Injector cleaner/ultrasonic cleaning, or the mapping update that my dealer knows nothig about ( possibly for the 390's only ) I did notice valve lift from the ADC but it didnt look like much and I dont have a dial guage to measure it even if I did have spec...

bergls,Dale had the same problem with a poor hotstart on his 570 dont know how hes got on.....whether he solved it. Maybe he'll post.

I had a trawl through some old posts, ohioPT also had same dramas but all was fixed when his dealer replaced the injector. From what I can gather in-tank injector cleaner and ultrasonic cleaning doesnt work real well but DaleEO had a bit of success with Chevron fuel with an additive. New injector is 255 aussie + inline filter :(
